I take it he was agreeable?
A none lethal takedown is always the most silent takedown
Has he been infected?
The GEP Gun lethal takedown is always the most silent way to takedown Manderley.
Stick with the prod. Prod with the prod.
It's crazy how people are uninterested in Mankind Divided, many threads not hitting the bump limit
It's literally half a game, at best. Some would even say it's 1/3 of a game. The plot is shit, music is the worst in the franchise, gameplay is quite literally the only saving grace.
I have opened the mayor
...
Page's actor is starting to sound old, he better not go and die before they finish the rise of MJ12 plot line (which they haven't even started, fuck)
I agree on the gameplay, but I'd prefer more seamless takedowns (A bit like Far Cry 3/4) or none at all and we just stick to the prod.
Prod conceptually was fine but execution was terrible due to shitty hitbox detection.
It really should've been instant knockout no matter where you hit with it.
I've never had a problem with the prod's hitbox, is this a ruse?
Yeah, I had some trouble with the "sweet spot" on the back of these lanky bastards at the bottom of the rear plate.
No, it's not a ruse, if you don't hit within very limited area dead center on enemy's back, he may just turn around and shoot you in the face alerting everything on the level. Prod's hitboxes being shit is a well known issue.
>mfw deus ex went full left wing
another series bites the dust
haven't played MD and kept up with HR series threads, is MD that bad?
Pro-islam, pro-immigration and BLACK LIVES MATTER social commentary: the game
HERE'S A PICTURE
Fucking canadians
I kinda expected it to be that way after seeing the lead writer cunt saying they wanted to make the game's theme be related to refugees, Fergunson and whatnot.
WHY
Pro-islam in the "NOT ALL MUSLIMS" kind of way mind you, not any more extreme than that, just saying this in case someone spergs out.
not all muslims! *continues to have not read the quran and al-bukhari and al-tabari"
Yeah its sad, if anyone was going to love a new Deus Ex game it should have been Sup Forums. But Sup Forums doesn't play games, and loves to flip its shit over the most minor thing, so it makes sense it'd focus on the microtransactions rather than if its a good game or not.
None of that happened. Spotted the shitter who didn't play the game.
Spotted the tumblerite
CONTAIN
I would say it is the combination of Denuvo + microtransactions + awful PC port + lower expectations overall.
HR came and people expected it to be pure unfiltered cancer, and it turned out to be okay-good. Now with Mankind Divided, we already know they still have cancerous takedowns, 1 hub town, you could already see that they didn't really care that much about improving the model they had going with HR just by watching gameplay videos, the whole focus on 3rd person cover and takedowns is just bad.
IT
Yeah the fade to black is really fucking annoying. It's apparently to make sure characters don't clip into walls but seriously I don't think anyone would mind the characters sliding around a tiny bit during the animation, it happens in every other game with similar takedowns anyway. I mean like in Batman your character can just teleport like 5 meters.
...
'scool.
Aquinas spoke of the mythical city on the hill. Soon, that hill will be a reality and WE will be crowned its kings!
>None of that happened.
Literally first hour of the game is cyborg terrorists going allahu akbar followed by conversation in which Jensen goes full on "not all muslims" and says that the main reason why they couldn't have been muslims is because cyber augmentation isn't kosher with their religion.
Eat shit faggot.
And then the whole AUG LIVES MATTER is literally a parallel to BLACK LIVES MATTER, complete with slightly edited IRL cover magazines and photoshopped niggers with cyborg parts to further drive the allegory home.
The only one that hasn't played the game is you.
Old men are the future.
I think Eidos are afraid of changing their "winning formula" too much, it's kind of obvious that the game breaks a bit without the takedowns and cover systems. You'll probably never see much beyond the human enemies, for example Grays, not because they don't fit the tone but because they'll have no idea how to program them.
Meant to reply to
Damn the game is so much better when you read all the books, datacubes etc. It just adds so much to the world.
When I originally played years ago I was just getting through the levels as quick as possible and "HUP HUP HUP"ing my way around the level
I DO NOT MOVE OUT OF THE WAY.
The problem is that it isn't a winning formula at all, it's extremely stupid how I saw in videos that you just walk towards alert guards and press X to KO/kill them. It's casualshit personified.
People aren't talking about MD here because it simply doesn't sparkle enough interest, it looks like one of those games that you can skip no problem. Much like something such as Far Cry Primal.
>Literally first hour of the game is cyborg terrorists going allahu akbar followed by conversation in which Jensen goes full on "not all muslims" and says that the main reason why they couldn't have been muslims is because cyber augmentation isn't kosher with their religion.
That isn't what happens, what he says isn't even pro-Islam. Macready assumes they are Jihadists because it's Dubai but Jensen reasons they weren't because Jihadists are in the habit of following Muslim beliefs. If anything Jensen is saying Islamic terrorists do indeed adhere to Islam, not that they can't be terrorists.
>Deus Ex threads are nothing but meme-spouting at this point
>same group is shitting on Mankind Divided while making it obvious they haven't played it
But we've played the game and discussed it in thread numerous times already, thing is that most everyone seems to agree that the game is a letdown. Gameplay wise it's solid but basically just a polished Human Revolution, story and characterization are weak as hell, pile on microtransactions and all the other exterior shit and things just don't look good
i can bet you anything that the game being uncrackable at the moment actually hurt its sales.
this is false though
I've been in loads of threads that hit bump limit
Welcome to the coalition JC, I might as well start using coke
click every single OP I pointed at then
Deus Ex is a beloved game on Sup Forums, now how many MD threads aren't hitting the bump limit that are in those OP lists? At least half. Seems pretty shitty.
get a rope and lynch yourself you complete waste of skin
>he thinks that happens in the first hour
No wonder Sup Forums thinks this game is so short, you fucking mainlined it. I didn't even get to that conversation until 20 hours in.
could it be because it's a single-player game that release 2 weeks ago and people are done talking about it?
could it?
no, it can't be. It must be dead as fuck and an incredible flop.
You're forgetting how many threads about MD are getting made hourly.
Also, it would be a sad day if Sup Forums would be an accurate indicator regarding how popular a game is. Hint: I'm pretty sure all those No Man's Sky threads have reached bump limit.
>this is his VA
Hey Eidos, why are we recording my lines first?
>20 hours in
don't you almost immediately go to HQ in the first area after you visit the doctor?
Need an underage b& here MODS
Nigga, you get like three side quests.
You can go get the thing from the underground casino
Definitely doesn't take 20 hours but depending on how you do it I guess that's another hour or two.
Why is her shirt maggots?
it takes you almost 10 hours to do each side quest?
Hell no you get like 4 or 5 side missions before you even step foot in there
I must be some kind of standard. The anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.
That and following around clues in the city. Not that user, but I haven't even seen the interior of the TF29 HQ until I was 5 hours in or so.
5 hours is reasonable, given the opening area.
But he said 20.
20 fucking hours.
...
>youtube.com
>this is Sarif's (previous) VA
Eidos, why do you have a restraining order against me? Hello?
Why the fuck did they not bring him back? He was great, and the new guy is a piece of shit.
This shit taste
God forbid we have a unique voice with some amount of charisma.
New guy is just imitating the old one, and poorly at that.
>hurr durr MD is only 10 hours
>hurr durr MD is pro sjw game
some of you people are honestly so stupid you should have your fingers cut off and tongues torn out so you can't communicate with other people in a meaningful way
If unique you mean the most annoying voice of all time ok
>thinking Sarif is annoying
off to the FEMA camp with you
We will never know. Shellen claims they didn't call him, but Eidos says he refused. There has clearly been some kind of falling out.
Which is a shame, because I loved his unusal delivery. But I totally believe that he can be difficult to work with.
Eidos Internet Defence Force detected.
How about you fags go back to your qa jobs and make sure my pritchard dlc won't be a buggy piece of shit on release.
>AAAaaaaAADDDdduUUUMMm!!!
Fucking irritating and worst part of HR
Oh yes.
Harsh, but I agree with the underlying sentiment.
For someone mocking SJWs for being dishonest and getting triggered by trivial shit, you guys sure love being dishonest and getting triggered by trivial shit.
>not enjoying over the top and corny VA in conspiracy theory video games
I can tell you fucking plebs didn't play the original
The fuck? Shellen has said multiple times that he refused Eidos's multiple calls. He also said that they basically begged him but he told them to fuck off because they didn't defend him when some 20 game journalist sites claimed he was mentally insane/unstable after that "my fruitflies are augmented" video.
Eidos tried to get him back for MD multiple times, he's just mad at them for not saying anything and defending him.
If you want to know the story (told by him), here it is: 7cuilgaming.wordpress.com
Something about them wanting to pay him only 400 bucks, but when you consider how few lines Sarif actually has in MD, that doesn't seem like a terrible amount.
I did. And the awful accents of DX are comfy.
This freak's voice is nails on chalkboard tier.
>literally begging for dlc
kill yourself
>game journalism killed David Sarif's voice
If there ever was a reason to get angry.
>It's LITERALLY okay when Deus Ex does it.
I just finished Deus Ex a few days ago and I swear I'd never seen this meme until recently. There has to have been a huge surge thanks to MD's release, right?
Yes. I 100% believe that Eidos tried multiple times to get him back. I mean, they're bringing Pritchard's voice actor back and no one gives nearly as many fucks about him as they do about Sarif.
Why are you still playing if you hate it so much
I actually have been on a DX1 kick lately, played a good 10 hours of it, lethal and non-lethal. It made me want to jump back into HR with augmented vision. Redid the keybindings to be as close to DE1 as possible.
So the first thing that suddenly offended me in HR when it never did before was the opening sequence being an unskippable, slow build-up. The "Get in there and get playing...if you want, that is" philosophy of DX1 really changes the palate. In fact, DX1's expediency of everything from menu clicks to the sheer amount of utility in a single keybind really made HR feel cumbersome.
The lack of melee still hurts the most, but takedowns feel very good in spite of that. There are so many things that you can get creative with on DX1 concerning takedowns (untrained weapon? sneak up and pepper spray/prod, point blank headshot the poor fuck) that I realized just how poignantly DX1 is a thinking man's jam.
Worst offender was turning it into a cover shooter. Denton is like The Terminator compared to Jensen, non-lethal is the only choice if you want to play it like DX1. If you give in and treat it like a cover shooter, you're just unstoppable. The bonuses for non-lethal takedowns and stealth, hell even people treating you like shit for killing terrorists, it feels way more forced than I remember.
I would have to say that their interpretation of the augmentation system is a proper marriage of the DX1 systems, and probably one of the best things they did differently.
HR is as good as I remember it, but DX1 really does outshine it in a lot of areas that just come down to a different philosophy on game design. DX1 is the cool DM that will let you get away with things and build off of them, HR is the one who gets mad at you for not doing what the story implies and passive aggressively tries to make you suffer for it.
Also honorable mention to DX1 for the extremely fine tuned resource management, particularly the multitools and lockpicks
No
Also the reason he doesn't show up in the "Meet the voice actors" video of HR is probably because at the last day of recording he was really stressed out and mad at the director, and apparently he just went off and told him some serious shit and left.
this shit is 7 fucking years old, fuck off
>the only recognizable aspect of the character in the new game is that he's black
I'm not sure he's even the same kind of black. Why the change?
>Within days, 20-something major gaming and tech news sites ran near-identical and utterly vitriolic articles claiming without a shadow of a doubt that Shellen is insane
>Game journos fucked him over
I'm 100% MAD
The underclasses are starting to get desperate.
Your turn.
the most interesting part is
>near-identical and utterly vitriolic articles
100% illuminati's job, orders from higher up
Which was his defining character trait in Deus Ex? I completed the game twice and can only remember his name.
The rioting is escalating to the point where we may not be able to contain it.
MD keeps crashing on me when I try to take the elevator to TF29 to do M9. Playing on PS4. What are the chances that Eidos fixes this
Prove it
Being a bullshit con artist and manipulator
>Which was his defining character trait in Deus Ex?
He had several.
1. That's terror.
2. That's terror.
