Speculate, Sup Forums!
>handheld
I'm okay with a handheld. If i can connect it to my TV and play it there when I'm at home I'll be twice as happy.
Going by all the speculation, I imagine it'll just be a culmination of everything they've done since the DS. A handheld system that can output to the TV like a reverse Wii U, with detachable controllers serving as upgraded wiimotes. Handheld can fold in half and has a touch screen, although whether the top screen will remain 3D is up in the air, no one's heard anything either way about that one.
>What is it?
A console
>What it's gimmick?
A touch screen because of Zelda.
>When will we know get the official announcement?
2017 like they said month ago.
Thread over.
>Third parties hate it
>1 or 2 worthwhile games in the first year, everything else will be shitty Wii U ports
>More droughts and delayed games
>Wii U 2.0
3D Handheld VR Touchscreen Motion Control Smell-O-Vision Novint Falcon with a Tenga Attachment
LEAKED CONTENT DO NOT SAVE PLEASE UNDERSTAND
>portable
>Kardashian's unga bunga tempo tier third party "games"
>retardo executive decisions of Nu-ntendo
Even Ouya was more promising.
will nintendo bring back their comfy menu music? they fucki nbetter
Reveal in October.
Third parties will probably hate it (outside of Japan), but I doubt there'll be many droughts if they really are putting all of their muscle behind one system.
Orly?
Fuck off shill
...
>No pic leaks yet
Sm4sh spoiled me
Why should we believe this guy?
This is real, my dad works at Wikileaks
This is real, my dad works at Fisher price
Second time I've heard this today. When the fuck did they say it would get revealed in 2017? I need source
Its a handheld, so Japanese third party suport is guaranteed
I thought we were getting the official announcement soon-ish. Are we not hearing a peep until 2017 now, apparently?
That would be retarded as hell.
Nobody knows, some are expecting an announcement before TGS, others late September early October.
Someone did a really cool mock up. I'd be okay if it looked like this desu.
Wait fuck that portrait and landscape mode is actually neat, and makes it backwards compatible
an handheld is being optimist, it's going to be a console/cellphone hybrid so they can catter to the casual market that went to the tablets
Even though this definitely won't be done, it's still my favorite concept!
how to jump
Looks some what comfortable to hold.
OH GOD NEW LEAKS!!!
Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact
Of course. But speculation is fun.
yeah it is
just trying to remember the day that "that" was leaked with all the shitstomed it caused
>that enter key
how horrifying
That is a fake but that is what the NX is going to be.
if this post ends in 5 the NX will be the greatest gaming device in history

>When will we know get the official announcement?
Well the leaks say September 13 or something. So probably late October/ Early November.
The new Direct made it obvious it will be a Wii U replacement since the 3DS is still supported with new models being released still.
/thread
Its Gimmick is going to be a 480p screen in 2017
I hope it does, the Sega 3D Classics are god tier and it's a shame more companies didn't try remastering their classics.
Neat
my only true fear about the NX being portable maybe?? is that it probably is going to have thumbsticks
New models like what? The galaxy? It's just the blue XL with new cover plates. They have a surplus of old blues that they're getting rid of. They're literally dumping shit that hasn't sold yet because they won't be able to sell any of it after 6 months. Same for the white normal sized one.
As for the games, there's no point releasing anything else on the Wii U at this point since the install base is so small. The 3DS still has 60 million users so making shit ports of Wii U games makes sense. It's cheap and a few people are bound to buy it. It's hardly "support". It's a last ditch effort to make money in a year that's going to be very bad for them because they have really nothing new or noteworthy to offer.
Check the dsi
>released 2 years before 3ds
uh huh
Well not because of that, but because they're testing the waters of porting their console games on a portable.
They had pretty good success with Smash 3DS.
do you rike it?
Hopefully at least 540p for christ's sake.
So it's a handheld with Kinect?
...
Honestly hope that rumor about two detachable controllers turns out to be false. I'd rather they focus on making the detachable parts more ergonomic instead of making each side it's own controller.
It likely is. Think: Everything Nintendo makes has to be "family friendly." In practice that means it needs to be robust enough to hold up in the hands of someone younger than 12.
Anything that detaches is going to be a major wear part, and it'll become loose over time if not outright break entirely. Doesn't really fit Nintendo's target demographic.
> What is it?
Shit
> What it's gimmick?
It shouldn't have any, it won'tw ork again like it did with Wii.
> When will we know get the official announcement?
I don't give a fuck.
This, it's pretty obvious too. The 3DS is getting several games in 2017 while the Wii U is only getting Zelda which is also on NX.
I hope they don't drop Miiverse.
I actually like that thing. Seeing other people's thoughts and impressions as I'm playing is pretty enjoyable.
Even if it has no gimmicks, decent hardware and a good name, it'll still fail because Nintendo can't into 3rd party games
When the NX fails, it'll be Nintendo excuse to go full third party. That's the only reason NX exists. To give Nintendo the perfect excuse to lay off half its staff.
Their handhelds get lots of nip stuff though.
Why would Nintendo lay off half their staff?
Anyways, the last thing you want is for Nintendo to go 3rd party. Or at least, that's the last thing the 3rd party devs want. Nintendo is capable of single-handedly creating an entire console library, with many high-quality games in there. They are the single largest video game development company in the world.
If Nintendo went 3rd party, and actually tried to compete with the other 3rd parties, there'd be nothing left. Nintendo would drown the market in high-quality games that the competition could never compete with. You don't understand the sheer output Nintendo's capable of. Right now, they're being held back not just by one, but by TWO consoles. Without that gigantic ball and chain restricting their movements, Nintendo would be unstoppable.
they're already unifying their dev teams for the NX so we should get a good idea of what a Nintendo going ham is supposed to look like
it's also why the NX excites me
This is something a lot of people don't think of. if nintendo decided to go third party, it wouldn't be some shameful event, "haha nintendo sucking sony's dick". MS and Sony would be sucking nintendo's dick for those sweet, sweet exclusives, and the other third parties would be run out of business.
its not shameful for nintendo if they go third party. it's like taking off their weighted training clothing.
Not that guy. But Zelda is confirmed for March. And Zelda is also confirmed for the NX.
But it's true that Zelda could launch exclusively for the Wii U or something, with the NX not coming until months later. But we'll see.
Exactly. For everyone's fucking sake, they should stay 1st party
*Consumers can't into Nintendo
Fixed that for you. Third party aint gonna show much support unless people buy the console, which they wont because a lot of people are retards that care more about brand than games.
Gamecube had a good amount of third party support but it failed even though it was technologically advanced at the time.
I don't think the Wii had very strong third party support with a massive install base, did it?
sure, it was 480p max but you'd think if would have been worth it to create a custom version of your game for that thing.
