Game features reptiles/dinosaurs

>game features reptiles/dinosaurs
>none of them have any aviary features

When will developers get with the times and fucking learn their shit?

>Makes too much sense for the American audience.
Fuck dude, you should know this.

I will not stand for asymmetrical flight feathers on sauropods the size of semitrucks.

Find me a bird, alive today, that does not fly, does not glide, but still has asymmetrical flight feathers.

Because it's lame

Because that's a meme.

Big lizards are cool, big chickens are lame.

>muh historical accuracy

Americans think the Dinosaurs died because they were too big to fit on Noah's Ark.

They don't need to look like chickens. Eagles, Hawks, and cassowaries are pretty threatening.

They are still clearly birds though. The reason some people liked dinosaurs, is because visually...they were never entirely lizards or birds but something inbetween. Feathers, pushes them too far into being like birds, which makes them no longer interesting. It makes them mundane.

They don't need to have feathers user.

The big ones didn't though. Like why shit like Elephants and Rhinos don't have fur or why horse hair is almost non-existantly short.

You just don't need that shit when you weigh a ton unless you're a polar bear living in the Arctic.

But that's the point, I don't care if they have down or little quills. It's fucking people who draw Tyrannosauruses, with their little man-sized arms, with complex flight feathers running down the back of them.

Even plebs see that and go "ugh, this doesn't.... something about this... ummm..." If people would stop fucking doing that, dinosaurs can look however you fucking want.

But there was.

...

>Dinosuars with contemporary bird colors

This makes me angry

There's no way to know that Dinosaurs had feathers. It's just a theory.

>dinosaurs with feathers

Fucking insanos.

General rule is animals with hair have lots of it everwhere.

Not our fault we're freaks.

Dinosaurs with feathers just look lame. It's as simple as that. No one knows exactly what dinosaurs looked like, so attempting to make a T. Rex look like a giant chicken for the sake of scientific accuracy is usually done for the dickwaving smug factor than anything else.

It also inadvertedly (or perhaps totally intentionally) pisses the people who grew up with the image of awesome and terrifying lizards off. You really can't justify it either way since there's no way you can claim your game is a "dinosaur simulator" with a straight face. There isn't any verifiable science behind what dinosaurs behaved or looked like, besides their skeletal structure and scraps of scale samples, which mean fuck all.

tl;dr Fuck feather fetishists.

>Not our fault we're freaks.
Not our fault the rest of the animal kingdom just goes belly up and dies because they're lazy assholes like that, take for instance fucking pandas; niggers eat bamboo and what happens if there's no bamboo to eat? they fucking die, it's like the universe wants them to go extinct.

Now, some communist asshole takes over a country and fucks up their economy and grain production, what do starving people do? they eat the biggest spider they can find, make bread with fucking wood or turn to cannibalism. LITERALLY ANYTHING but fucking go extinct.

Well OP, have I got good news for you...

It's already been completely funded, too. Prepare yourself for HYPER REALISTIC DINOSAUR GAME

>It's just a theory
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feathered_dinosaur
it ain't tho

Too graphically intensive.

...

a lot of people just think of Dino's without feathers I guess

also they tend to look like shit with feathers

Are you okay user?

You should read your own link before shitposting. That list of dinosaurs with feathers are mostly tiny literally who species.

>An adult Tyrannosaurus rex weighed about as much as an African elephant. If large tyrannosauroids were endotherms, they would have needed to radiate heat efficiently, and feathers would have interfered with this.

>dinosaurs don't look good with feathers
love this meme

You're not helping your argument with that pic, you know. Looks like a mutant penguin.

To add to this, it's likely that juvenile T.Rexes had feathers, but they would have likely ditched them as they grew. The bigger the dinosaur, the less likely it'd be for them to have feathers at all.

Not him but lots of those literally who dinosaurs did end up taking over the top of the food chain over time when they began to evolve and depending on the global climate.

No one is asking specifically for a t Rex with feathers.

fuzzy

>No one is asking specifically for a t Rex with feathers.
It's one of the most commonly contested dinosaurs regarding feathers, especially among people who just read "dinosaurs likely had feathers" and then think of giant chicken rexes. Also the people who are working on It's a disgrace.

What? I was telling the user that he was wrong in thinking that "there was not way to know that dinosaurs had feathers". That is completely incorrect; there have been many fossils found with feathers. I don't understand how this can be called a "theory" if it actually exists.

And does it matter that they are "literally who" species? They still, you know, EXIST.
Are you saying that the binturong doesn't have fur because not many people know about them?

Also, that article is not completely accurate. Feathers do not interfere with heat radiation at all; they in fact are quite useful at doing so. Just take a look at ostriches and emus, both of which live in very hot environments, but have masses of feathers to beat the heat.

I was not shitposting in the slightest.

Yeah, ostriches are ostriches. They are a fraction of the mass an adult T.Rex would be. Powerful muscles generate an obscene amount of heat, moreso for a predator who would likely utilize them in explosive bursts like a T.Rex. Those tiny arms on a T.Rex? They would still theoretically be able to bench over 400 pounds.

When you take this into account and then reimagine it as a giant cotton ball, it's easy to see how it would run into heat dissipation problems.

And if that wasn't a shitpost, this post is. Read the link here

he feathers we know birds for are primarily for flight and streamlining. Hence why flightless birds have shaggy ugly matty shit unless they're trying to impress a mate.

Are you prepared for our downy T-Rex overlords?

Dinosaurs never existed retard the earth is only 6000 years old. Developers can make them look how ever they want.

But they're cute

DOODE AMERICANS LMAO

...

Stupid duck thought it was an egg

My only problem with feathered dinosaurs is they all tend have the same features. For some reason, almost every dinosaur artist reached a consensus that because they had feathers, they must all have looked like big fluffy hawks, and that showing the slightest bit of skin is a form of blasphemy.

I'm still looking forward to Saurian, but damned if I don't prefer the vulture-like t. rex they had to the finalized design.

yes, it does seem to fuzzy but everything else seems pretty great

Monster Hunter did it.

Post more chickens.

...

These are holocene dinosaurs.

Only carnivorous theropod dinosaurs are confirmed to have feathers like Velociraptor and T-Rex, most others did not or at least are not confirmed to
