I broke free after the bullshit that was miracle cubes in Big bang.

I play the korean version.
fun fact, miracle cubes and potential came out before big bang.

Miracle cubes and the potential system ruined the game and made it even more blatantly p2w than it already was.

I find myself playing for 4 hours once every hear and realizing I'm wasting my time. Rinse and repeat.

I do. And you do. Most people nowadays just buy an account. Worth it if you want to play other nexon games like ToS or DNF or maple 2, or bubble fighter/kart rider, closers, cyphers, special forces 2, etc etc you get it.

not true. It just exited clsoed beta in china a month ago. And it was p2w initially, but they've increased the methods in which you can acquire elixir 50s, and keys regenerate faster. But the damage was done and it's still pretty low popularity.

Plus nexon decided to keep it on the same patch schedule (big patches in summer/winter) as maplestory 1, which was a bad idea, since 5th job dropped this past summer on maple 1, and broke tons of records, including beating league of legends AND overwatch in pcbang rankings for a few nights. It basically took the few players still dedicated to ms2, and just said "hey come back."

Well I was going to come back in february to play some of the newer content on GMS, but because my laptop died this new computer can barely handle the game as is, and GMS probably wouldn't run at all with the terrible blackcipher fork that GMS has that causes all that horrendous lag on enemy kills.
