Just watched the video.
The ONE (not both of them, just the one) dude was just saying that he's disappointed by the lack of content 2.8 will have compared to the other collections.
Pretty stupid name for the video title, though. But, of course,
>can't spell ignorant without IGN blah blah blah
All the nu-males in that video are complaing about is the fact that the collection doesn't feature a remaster of a numbered game like 1.5 and 2.5 did. It seems like they only played DDD HD, not 0.2.
OP is a fag.
Zehanort and Eraqueeze
Isn't 2.8 made up of video clips and mobile games?
i've been telling you retards for months now that DDD is medicore as shit
Hd remaster of dream drop distance
a movie adaptation of kingdom hearts x
and a mini sequel to birth by sleep (which is a prologue to kh3)
What will 2.9 have?
Mediocre be Days and Recoded. Dream Drop has some issues but not enough to take it down for still being a solid game.
2.8 has basically HD DDD with some new stuff in it, BBS 0.2 which is basically going to be KH Ground Zeroes edition for KH3, and a movie based off the mobile game to sum up the plot from it so you don't have to play it.
can someone post competent footage of th aqua demo?
There was actually an interview with Nomura where they jokingly asked if a 2.9 was coming out
He said no
DDD had good music and aesthetics but that's about it. It suffered from typical Osaka team bullshit gameplaywise.
This "Osaka Team" bullshit is the "B-team" boogeyman from Dark Souls all over again
>KH will soon fall into the same shitposting hell that plagues games that have a shred of popularity/mainstream interest on this board for 2.8/3
Can we postpone this for a bit? Give me a bit more time with halfway decent threads.
Sell me Kingdom Hearts. Why do people like really like it?
Nah, it's just modern journalism to use bait titles to grab eyes.
It's fun
>IGN
Also 2.8 is based on BBS. While a taste of III I wouldn't compare them. Plus Aqua was the worst character in BBS.
Good gameplay and soundtrack
Fun action RPG gameplay, tons of Disney fanservice, had a lot of effort and attention to detail in general (All the Disney characters are voiced by their original actors usually), and are generally long content filled games with lots of ways to play and challenge yourself if you want.
People like it for one or more of the following:
Gameplay
Disney nostalgia
Final Fantasy fanservice
Complicated story
Fun is just a buzzword for when you can't think of a reason why a game is good.
It's the inevitable for any triple A game
>Release is far away, threads aren't frequent but are good
>Release starts to get near, shitposters invade the thread. Threads are up 24/7 and they're all repeating the same shit about how the game is going to be terrible over and over
>Too used to Sup Forums to tolerate using any discussion website on the internet
>Have no friends who are interested in the game
>Have to spend the last 3 months before the release not having anyone to talk to about the game
>Avoid Sup Forums after release untill i finish it
>Come back, since the game has released and it's actually good the shitposters went away and the threads are good again for one month, then it goes to /vg/ and becomes a circlejerk shitfest
Every single fucking time
Except people used to actually like the Osaka Team, until suddenly it became cool to pretend that BBS was bad.

The original was a fun little action RPG which somehow blended Disney and Square titles together. The sequel doubled down on the cluster fuck story, but improved the gameplay (outside of too many "press triangle to win" moments).
Games outside of the two main titles are either praised for their gameplay while ignoring the story or completely ignored.
Sup Forums wants every thing to be TORtanic now.
>IGN pisses of Sonic fans
>IGN pisses of Kingdom Hearts fans
What horrible fanbase will they anger next?
Kingdom Hearts 2 is one of the most polished games ever made
Not really, it has been like this since like 2010
>Games outside of the two main titles are either praised for their gameplay while ignoring the story
>while ignoring their story
But Chain of Memories and BBS have the best stories in the KH series.
>The original was a fun little action RPG which somehow blended Disney and Square titles together
Do we know how the fuck did that come to be anyway? Kingdom Hearts sounds like a fucking fever dream or something that leaked from a paralell "what if" reality into ours. It's such a bizarre concept.
>giving a shit about what that dumb fuck Marty Silva thinks
Chance meeting between exes in an elevator. No, I'm not kidding.
It works suprisingly well. The only time it gets really jarring is when you get to the live-action movie worlds
Tell me whats good about com's story, insee that comment thrown around a lot but never any justification for it. What makes com so good?
Ill ignore ur comment about BBS though, the game is universally agreeed to be shit storywise lmao.
>Terra the literal retard
>Ventus the literal child
>Aqua the airheaded retard
>Eraqus the overprotective retard
DDD was pretty fun but it had some HUGE balancing issues. Balloon was super powerful and was very easily spammed for example. It pretty much solved all your problems
Aqua was by far the best character in bbs.
Yeah. I won't deny Balloon is pretty overpowered. Maybe they'll rebalance it in KH3 if it appears again.
>>high speed action combat with weighty yet fast attack animations that, when on proper difficulty settings, require very skillful use of dodge and block mechanics along with well timed attacks
This was not a thing in KH1 and was overblown (i.e. bad) in KH2.
Literally the only games worth a damn about plot are Days and BBS (haven't played 3D), and Days is kinda self-contained anyway.
Nep fans
Balloon wont appear again. Its a command, not magic.
Proof?
Zero graviga, confusion strike, surges, ghost drive, none of these appear in KH1 or 2. And they wont be in 3.
>lmfao
While not self-contained and the start of where the plot got complicated, its writing was extremely focused and the antagonists felt like very real characters. Every single world in that game had its plot focused on the concept of memories, where at the end of each world the player and/or Sora was supposed to have learned something about how they work within the KH universe and perhaps even give the player a question to ask himself or something to think about as Sora moved through Castle Oblivion. The big reveals and twists worked well in this game because the player too was led to believe that plot points from KH1 were omitted from the game and that some of Sora's past was an unknown. The same confusion that Sora had was pushed onto the player. The twists involving the antagonists worked since every Organization member was shown to have very different (albeit exaggerated) personalities, making it within reason for there to be in-fighting and/or different personal goals for each member. This was before nobodies were said to not have hearts too, so the player had no reason to believe their feelings were lies.
My main gripe with CoM stems entirely from KH2's writing making the bigger events moot. You've got Organization XIII introduced and shown straight out to be falling apart with an usurpation, the concept of nobodies being teased, and some random witch chick who spends all of her time drawing pictures. Come KH2, and all that really matters is that Sora and Xehanort have multiple identities.
Good gameplay, probably the only good ARPG for me because most of them feel like clunky ass DMCs but this one is good.
However I don't like the story or characters much, I still think it's weird to see Disney characters with FF characters next to each other, I'm not comfortable seeing that.
BBS Was fun but it most certainly had some problems.
>Ill ignore ur comment about BBS though, the game is universally agreeed to be shit storywise lmao.
How delusional can one be.
Oh fuck with that deflection garbage, by the time 2.5 released on a console with a wider install base than the PSP, many people (speed-runners included) many of the severe balance issues that plagued BBS/DDD's gameplay had their cover blown.
Case in point
>This was not a thing in KH1
Not in combination, but parts of it were. At least the weightyness of attacks and requirement of well timed attacks towards the end of the game.
But you're right, I was more referring to KH2FM, which is the series at its best gameplay wise.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by overblown/bad though.
>Days
>plot
No
Days' plot retcons itself, and for a game that was supposed to provide more insight on Organization XIII, it spend a hell of a lot of time on a character with almost no personality that was both introduced and removed from the plot in the very same game. Xion had almost no personality; her vanishing wasn't sad at all, as there was no reason to care about her.
>implying Disney filler is entertaining in any way whatsoever
>implying Disney filler was even remotely relevant
I played the PS2 version so maybe that's why I don't like CoM.
Doesn't even phase me. Still pre-ordered.
Dude, that summary is literally what i thought when i first played that game 12 years ago. Holy fucking shit. 10/10
Now tell me what makes BBS story good?
>Playing 2.5 right now because I haven't played 2 in almost 9 years and I need to play BBS.
>Go into it feeling I grasp most of the plot up to the end of 2
>2 Final Mix drops a whole bunch of extra shit
Not sure if I just got older but my god there so much shit going on at once and they want you to grasp it all.
>I'm not sure I understand what you mean by overblown/bad though.
Since Commands weren't a thing in KHII, when you got the big nukes you just had to spam X and win, because stuff like Explosion was retardely OP and cost you nothing to use. I haven't played FM (probably never will, I won't fully replay it again just for a good post-game).
>supposed to provide more insight on Organization XIII
Was it supposed to do that?
>it spend a hell of a lot of time on a character with almost no personality that was both introduced and removed from the plot in the very same game. Xion had almost no personality
Xion is a deconstruction of a Mary Sue. I can only put her character as kind and optimistic, but given all the classic Mary Sue traits she has and how she shows that they're not good at all she's pretty good. She also has a meaningful relationship with the protagonist, something that KH hadn't done up to that point.
To be quite honest though I started KH with Days so I didn't care much other than the story by itself.
What makes you think they won't make those spells, abilities or some new thing similar to drives or some shit?
I played the PS2 version too. Some people say the GBA version is better but I'm getting all that out of the PS2 version. I'll agree the Disney worlds felt kind of empty at times, but the subplots in them were always relevant to the main plot, even if you didn't enjoy them.
BBS is the only game in the series that doesn't really have a happy ending for a lot of the characters. Terra's plot arc is probably the best for this since he actually commits "evil" acts and has to struggle with regret and trouble with his own inability to control the darkness inside him. BBS also just explained a lot of things that were left unexplained in the plot. Where did Kairi come from and why? What did Organization members do before it was fully formed and before they became nobodies? How did Xehanort come to be such a threat in the first place? Why did Sora get the keyblade? And so on. It explains a lot of things that were previously ambiguous.
Then if you compare a protagonist like Aqua to, say, Sora, she's a lot more realistic and believable than Sora as a character, who is probably a bit too cheerful and heroic. Aqua is down-to-Earth and reasonable while not being boring and useless like say, Kairi.
BBS was always bad, but it was released before most people knew what actually good KH gameplay was. The exact arguments that people make about BBS now were being made when it first released outside Japan, just that back then the detractors were a minority.
But it's they made kh 3d hd 60 fps
FM isn't just for its post-game. Its Critical Mode difficulty setting rebalances the game entirely and EXP Zero ability adds an extra layer of difficulty on top of that. The way the game is rebalanced, its possible to play the game and beat it at level 1 without fights being tedious or lengthy (since the game gives you some abilities and stat upgrades through winning certain specific fights, for example). Critical mode in general makes the game better, and while abilities like that as you say are OP, the game's meat is in its boss fights where things like that aren't so destructively strong.
OP is a misleading faggot. They are disipointed in the overall collection when compared to the others, not at the kh3 demo like thing.
Stop saying crit rebalances the gsme, it doesnt, you lose half max HP big whoop its no different from playing on proud lmfao
I can't quite agree with you on Aqua, but thats just because she hasnt much screentime. I get the feeling that shes supposed to be struggling with her position. She's mommy to Ven, something like a wife/sister to Terra, but thats of their friendship. After the MoM exam she is suddenly Terra's superior or it should be that way. But theres no real conflict in that direction. Shes 100% focused on doing what the Master said instead of focusing on her friends. It just made her feel flat. Playing ENG dub and hearing her flat as fuck voice didnt help either.
But thags just me being retarded. In terms of conflict, I'd say Ven >= Terra >>> Aqua
Shit only gets serious for her when shes in the RoD at endgame, and of course in 0.2 i cant wait to see her reactions
Believing another opinion and making it your own without trying. This is current day gaming. It sickens me.
It does rebalance the game. You do way more damage and you start off with lots of good abilities. You die fast, but you kill faster, so it rewards the player for managing to attack without getting hit
What's wrong with Osaka team?
Is this the first KH game with 60fps without emulation or am I just completely wrong?
GBA CoM was 60fps.
So is their a remake for the PS4
Their games tend to be somewhat unbalanced and attacks oftentimes don't have any knockback.
In BBS, dodges have infinite i-frames so you can just spam that. The best attacks in the game are surge attacks.
In DDD, its Balloon.
Wow, that's exactly what I'm doing now.
Weird.
Fun is a buzzword is just shitposting for when you're replying to other people shitposting
The games they've made have a lot of core gameplay problems that ruin the fun for a lot of players, and they've never even tried to fix most of these issues despite numerous games and re-releases of said games.
what the fuck is this 2.8 bullshit
how many more years of filler before i need to care about this franchise again
>filler
>he thinks he'll be able to understand what's going on in III having only played I&II
With your attitude? Never.
Should've stayed on the 3DS. I bet they fucked up or removed all the Reality Shifts.
then i don't have to worry about it?
good shit, enjoy the game anons
>IGN
>Kingdom Hearts
the madmen have done it again
Its more that the non-numbered titles were never filler from the get-go. Most of them have major plot importance and introduce new characters that'll likely reappear in III.
Thanks! Enjoy the rest of your days user~
With your reading comprehension, you won't understand III even if someone hit you upside the head with the script.
you mean until people replayed the game for the first time in a long while with the HD remix and realized it was trash.
So does KH2.8 include some version of KH2?
The numbering confuses me.
The numbering is it's position in the story. It's between 2 and 3
>It's been 5 years and people still parrot this stupid shit and act smug about it
Like just try the game yourself at that point you stupid nigger.
But don't the 1.5 and 2.5 versions contain HD remakes of 1 and 2, respectively?
Yes. They also contain additional games/cutscene movies that are situated after them in the story.
If you're over the age of 20 and still care about Kingdom Hearts, you will never stick your penis in a vagina.
>Implying I'm not delaying my suicide for KH3
I'm gay
Ok, I've never played Kingdom Hearts and probably never will, but what the fuck is with their naming? 2.8? 358/2? Is it some reference or something?
358/2 Days is a reference to the number of days that the game takes place through, however I believe you only play half of those days, hence 358/2 days.
1.5 is a game that includes games that take place between 1 and 2. 2.5 includes 2 and a movie of a game that takes place a little after 2 (as well as a prequel, but lets ignore that when looking at the naming scheme). 2.8 takes place after 2.5 but before 3, and the last missing 0.2 is a small short game in 2.8 that comes just before 3.
If you ever cared about KH, you're a cuck or a woman.
I can't understand the appeal of the series at all. Disney films are cute and all, but you couldn't pay me to sit through a game that's basically fan-fiction with all your favorite pals and some little shit kid with janky looking "oh look we can do real time combat now, honest" bullshit.
It's a bad game with a bad premise. Even when I was a teenager, I wasn't falling for that shit.
There isn't a single ARPG that exists that has better gameplay than KH2FM
And I'm sure whatever suggestion I gave, you'd say "oh, just because that game has stats or item equips, doesn't make it a true RPG like KH becauce X".
Action and "grind all these levels to get good stats" are 2 concepts that are utterly at odds with each other. One rewards skill, the other rewards time, when you combine the concepts, literally nobody is happy aside from complete morons like yourself.
