I don't think it go well. I'm hitting the hay right about now.

Depends on what you consider to be an increase in play.
Of course once the patch hits lots of people will be trying them out, as it's essentially like getting 6 new characters to play with. You'll be hard-pressed to find lobbies that aren't filled with cocks and balls.
After the patch hype dies down, there won't be too much of a change. The NPC characters have a native lower pick rate when considered by random character select. If anything, it'll make those rarer picks less of a burden for the player, as the hypers should hopefully make them competitive with the rest of the cast rather than simply being less awful.

Possibly the bosses if their hypers are good enough. Robo/Cock/Gull will remain meme picks.

To be fair Shifu Robo kinda seems like he can compete against other characters well if played right. Decent defense and auto-healing is good as long as you can stay out of the 1HP range.

Manager and Castle have harsh penalties that pretty much negate their strengths. And good luck surviving more than 1 battle with Cock and Gull.

Manager isn't that bad. He's basically a diet Star Breaker -- better stats and can still win by stars with a lucky gank, but without a hyper that ruins the game for everyone else or any other cards. He's not amazing but he's still better than several genuine characters and can be fun to play if you get a bit lucky.

castle is shit though, and even if you want to play as a shit poppo there's mpm

There are always the baddies who are shit at the game but like to call things OP or worthless like the steam community, so it shouldn't be a surprise.

Other than that some simple logic and math can make it easier to figure out which characters are roughly better than others.

Should I be using Marc or Tomomo for extreme campaigns? I played through everything on normal so I could unlock Tomomo, which is real dumb of me, but now that I'm trying to repeat the campaigns with Tomomo, I'm still getting screwed. Especially by the Lagoon Flight and Pudding Chase levels.

I gotta say, I don't mind Yuki so much anymore. She's annoying, but I realized something. She may be a catslut, but at least she's not Star Breaker.

Tomomo and Kyoko work best for Extreme.
All I could recommend though is using the speed up macro.
