What are you emulating Sup Forums?

I'm not emulating anything right now but I have been trying to clean up my PS2 memory card folder. It's been a mess for years.

Then I want to make a dedicated pcsx2 folder with each folder catering to specific games just so I can jump in and play games that work perfectly, and update pcsx2 only for games that need it.

Each folder will also have custom shader sets to make the games look as good as they can.

Since AM2R was my first Metroid that I beat, I'm emulating the whole series now. Just beat Fusion with a pleb rate of 41% like an hour ago, next I'm either going to play Prime using Dolphin or Zero Mission with mGBA.

I'm horrible at it, and all games in its genre. I can build myself up to max upgrades but then I'll miss a dot aimed at the bottom of my ship and I'll die and I have such a hard time trying to bounce back after a death.

Just 100% this one, not very fun honestly, the environment wasn't very fun to explore till late game once it finally started to open up and very segmented, Corruption at least gave you a ship and landing points.
Also Samus didn't look as bad as I remembered.

But I think last time it was either MGS3 or Harvest Moon:FOMT. God bless the speedup functionality that makes Harvest Moon even remotely playable.

I hope you're okay with using save states because there are some legitimate bullshit areas in Norfair.

In my case I want to emulate MP/2 and 3, never played the latter two, but I don't know if my video card can handle it. The rest of the rig is lower-mid with a good enough CPU and enough RAM to handle whatever I throw at it, but I'm stuck with an old 5850 for the moment.

I should emulate Fusion to play it again, had it on the GBA. It and Metroid Prime were probably my first, but Super Metroid was fun as fuck to play a good decade ago for the first time.

yeah, i'm not above using savestates if i stop having fun. especially on romhacks. the only non-balance romhack i ever made an effort to clear without states was rockman 4 minus infinity, which i highly recommend to everyone

Prime 1 had a decent Samus. Attractive, but not unbelievable.

This, pretty much. Got all four mainline Metroid games on my 3DS (Super works perfectly on an original 3DS, fuck you Nintendo). Already finished ZM with 100%. Holy fuck I forgot how utterly bullshit some of the shinesparking segments are, and they're REQUIRED to get things as basic as fucking missile tanks.

The Metroid Prime games were made by an American studio. Though, they probably altered Samus from 1 to 2 in order to more closely match ZM's look.

Just got to the final world, and I'm surprised how good this game is even though it doesn't play like the first 2 games.

The thermal goggles are in one of the side rooms of the Tank hanger, it'll be a bit of a backtrack, but you should be able to get it without too much of a hassle. Without them, you just have to lay low, and get lucky a couple times.

Don't worry, the bosses get harder and one of them requires you backtrack all the way to one of the first areas.

Are there any good texture packs for Prime?

The PS2 version also has an undub.

Count your blessings. Even with the best possible keyboard mappings, playing MPT on Dolphin still feels awkward. If somebody could just mod it so the cameta tracks 1:1 with your arm cannon it would be so much better.

I like Prime 1 a lot, but you're embarrassing yourself. She was never meant to be a homely looking Ripley ripoff despite all the homages to Alien.

There's little reason to play Trilogy on Dolphin, just grab the gamecube ones. It's not like aiming is the part of the challenge in Primes.

you are my nigger user. that game does not get enough love. provides you with an interesting spread of weapons right off the bad, instead of a lame peashooter and souless hitscan for the first half of the game. you get explosives right off the bat, and enough that it isn't a waste to use them

Replayed FF12 recently, almost done another Fire Emblem 4 playthrough also put some time into godhand and Vagrant story as well as Valkyrie profile.

Now that I type it out I've really been on an emulating kick lately.

PS2 version isn't GOLDEN though. that was my point.

I was planning on emulating Prime 2, but after playing for a bit until the GFMC Compound there were plenty of noticeable FPS hits I didn't like. Considering playing on the original hardware instead.

I just started emulating Dual Strike yesterday. Kind of annoying that I have to restart the first five missions because I guess the emulator didn't save properly, but ah well. I emulated AW2 before this and enjoyed it a lot, but admittedly I never played AW1.

I don't have any of the HD texture packs or anything, I'm just using dolphin's native upres to 1080p and it still looks beautiful. Great game.

Oh, and Sami is best CO. I know she gets nerfed in DS, but I'm sure she'll still rock like always.

You clearly haven't tried Hachi...

Hachi is pretty fucking OP, and rightfully so since he's one of the hardest COs to unlock. I think if anything he's a "good job" reward for doing well in the game. But even then, Sami's abilities fit my play style much better than most other COs.
