Sequel changes the ending of the previous title

>sequel changes the ending of the previous title

shiny Megan tense 4 final

>dlc has the true ending

I actually loved Megaman Zero 4 but that shit was not okay.

>sequel comes out
>follows an ending that the player can't get in the prequel

>Game's sequel is in an entirely different genre from the previous one

Are we counting spin-offs or mainline titles

I'm kind of interested in which games changed the most drastically now.

Fucking StarWars KOTOR 2

>sequel goes for the normie audience

You probably didn't understand the plot of IV.

Final Fantasy XIII-2

Nice, exactly what I was referring to.

>sequel has a drastic change in tone, introduces new stuff out of nowhere and completely ignores the previous game's ending

When I started playing Warrior Within I was so confused. Where the fuck is Farah? Where's the King even, isn't he supposed to be alive now? What happened to the Dagger of Time, and where did this magical breastplate even come from?

>Sequel resets the whole in-game universe, making the original pointless

Final starts off in the middle of IV's neutral route right?

That's a reboot

>Sequel makes the protagonist an edgy badass and bumps the rating to T

>>sequel has a drastic change in tone, introduces new stuff out of nowhere and completely ignores the previous game's ending
>It then ends in a cliffhanger
Forever mad.

>sequel changes the ending of the previous title that was a huge cliffhanger and acts like it never happened
JUST

>Sequel is literally the same game with slightly upgraded graphics
Fucking Paracucks

Jak 2

Fuck this game, fuck

Well Legacy of Kaine Soul reaver was a sequel to Blood Omen and those two games don't play similarly at all.

>game's title is completely irrelevant in the sequels

>sequel has a sus' gay friendship overtaking the protagonist's hetero crush

Well game mechanics are different. I never played them but aren't they fairly similar?

Asura's wrath did this and I don't mind because said DLC ending was fucking awesome, and has like 5 of the coolest moments i've ever seen in a video game

Well they're both an "Action-adventure game" but one is a top down diablo kinda game the other is a 3d zelda like thing.
I dunno, they're not radically different genres but i don't think most people would notice that one's a sequel if they didn't know better.

Don't wanna get spoiled but isn't that entire game pretty much dlc?

>sequel is a movie

>sequel doesn't exist

>Bad ending was the true ending
FUCK YOU SHADOW HEARTS I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU.

>sleeping dogs

it's not fair

>Scrin planning an invasion because humanity made their dicks look small
>EA didnt even fucking mention the scrin in C&4

I'm mad.

Not really, just the ending.

Prince of Persia Warrior Within

It was the best in the series.

>secret ending was the true ending all along

>Sequel actually takes place 20 years before the first game

>prequel is 20 years in the future

Didn't kingdom Hearts do this with the first games ending?

>time travel is a hellava thing

mmm I don't really remember but I don't think so. I'm not sure if you're talking about KH2 but Chain of Memories just has him forgetting his memories and piecing them back together.

Shit, I should replay it again, it's been a long time.

>game has multiple endings
>they make the worst ending canon for the sequel

>Beat game and get the good ending
>Sequel takes place after the bad ending

kiss each other

>Game has multiple endings.
>All endings are canon.

>Game never gets a sequel

Several Zelda games are guilty of this.

Dungeon Siege III completely butchered the gameplay. nothing like I or II was

Curse of Monkey Island?
