Play your favorite game from childhood

What's its name?

FFTactics. I love it so, so much. But the grind to get those Mathematician skills, man. I just can't do that anymore. And even when I do, it makes everyone so powerful that story battles are an embarrassing cakewalk.

Have you tried FFTA or the DS sequel?

Hated the Advance knockoffs, personally. That Judge BS really aggravated me. Plus the story isn't nearly as glorious.

>xeen
>too dated
It plays absolutely fine nowadays

COD4. I was really looking forward to the remake but I just popped the original into the old 360 and it doesn't hold up as well as I remember.

I just can't handle the "cardinal directions only" movement controls anymore. I wish I could, I really love the game.

fag
they still make grid based RPGs

The only dated thing are the voice samples. Something about those old VGA graphics man, make it timeless.

I can't really get into those, either. It's like playing D&D and determining your stats with a dice roll instead of a point buy, it just feels ancient in 2016.

What a whiny bitch

Please don't bully.

Too late

Oh boy, here comes the PTSD.

Played through Soul Reaver again recently and it wasn't really that good anymore.

> dialogue delivery is still excellent but what's said isn't as complex and lenghty as I remembered
> no reason for all those health and spell point upgrades since half the spells are kinda pointless anyway and your health doesn't make a lot of difference since you'll probably try to keep it at maximum at all times to have the Reaver
>FUCKING BLOCK PUZZLES EVERYWHERE
>all those areas you know by now that were cut down from the initial concept

Sucks dude. Your loss.

This.

Honestly, it wasn't really that good. I think it got oversold because of the really gimmicky sanity effects which even as a kid, would maybe trip me up once, MAYBE twice, but never more than that. Everything else about it is garbage. HVGN was right about it.

World of Xeen is one of the games I would recommend to someone trying to get into old crpgs because it doesn't feel very dated and is still really fun to play. Even the visuals still hold up because of the distinct, colorful style and the music is fucking great.

How is it possible to be this wrong?

You managed it somehow.

Not dated but really short and easy compared to what I remembered.
