Do you think this game was a step in the right direction?
Music direction was complete garbage, imo. I hope this is the only Xeno game he composes for.

This just works so much better as video game music: youtu.be
It sounds fucking awesome.
This just sounds lame: youtu.be
It sounds goofy and fucking stupid. The forced "epic" vocals, the stock instruments, it all sounds flat and way too anime for me.
Hello? Is this thing on?
The first track sounds like Xenosaga or something.
The music is shit but I can't help but like some of it BECAUSE of how shit it is.
AM I ALL ALONE?
IS ANYONE THERE?
I NEED A BIGGER GUN!
Great game but had its problems.
I hated the music direction and the Skell combat was pretty shallow. The story wasn't all that but I did like the side-quests.
Hopefully monolith soft learn from their mistakes when working on the sequel.
Help if you can
Please wake me up
Not to sound cliche
But this world SUCKS!
>please wake me up
Every single overground theme is great (besides Cauldros day I guess). Sawano just didn't really get what Americans like and went full retard with lyrics.
1 2 3 4!!!!!!!!!!!
PSSTPSST PSST PSST
Obrigatory
I actually quite like NLA Night.
The music was just as good as the first one except for the vocal tracks, which contrary to the belief of retards like you, only make up a small minority of the tracks.
Eh, Cauldros is okay I think. But Sylvalum Day/Night have to be the best of them all.
>Sawano is totally bad guise Sup Forums told me so!
One of my few buyers remorse games ever.
Just lost all of the soul and identity of the first game, characters were not a patch on Reyn, etc from XC1.
Makes me sad.
It's not a bad track, but you can hear the cheesy overly sentimental J-Pop overtones in it like in pretty much all his music. When it hits into the big melodic part, you can just a picture the music video being all slow motion and the girl/guy singing stuff like "Baby, I love you, all I think about is you". Just basically having that commercial over sentimentality to it all.
I don't know what it is, but damn this theme gets me every time. Sylvalum was a blast to explore with this playing...except for that giant flying robot thing, fuck those, they're only terrible thing.
this
sylvalum music was so awesome
I like to think Uncontrollable isn't bad either. It's definitely a good 'oh fuck' theme for when a Tyrant happens to spot you.
Don't Worry wouldn't be so bad either if you weren't forced to listen it for 70% of the game.
Don't Worry wouldn't be so grating if it didn't start from the beginning whenever you landed.
Oh yeah that too.
I think you're just jaded.
Gameplay wise absolutely.
Atmosphere wise god yes.
Music wise, eh, kind of a wash. Not as many standout tunes as XC, though some are great for setting the mood.
Story wise, it's hard to judge considering they left it totally unfinished.
All sawano shit sounds the same.
Played xenoblade when it was jp only, was excited to hear about the sequel, lost all interest when I read "sawano".
I'm a huge Xenofag so I rushed out to get this game. Playing it was fine, similar enough to Xenoblade. I liked the mechs but I wish there was a little more to them than just normal combat but bigger. Also that cockpit camera thing was horrible.
And boy howdy there were a myriad of usability issues and plot issues. Why do I have to run down to the other fucking side of town to grab someone to put in my party. Why can't I call them up and have them just show up at Blade HQ?
Most of the characters are dull as hell, although I did like the aspect of the PC not being the main protagonist. Plot goes full retard and honestly just lazy (I know there's a heavy implied sequel but fuggggg). Biggest travesty of the whole fucking game is that it's Earth survivors teaming up with other aliens to fight the big bad aliens. All this while never giving you a single alien party member besides that elf girl. No cute tiny Jar-Jar, no cool mantis bro, nothin.
Hell no, I thought this game was awful. The only thing I enjoyed about it was the exploration. The gameplay, story, characters, music and graphics are all awful.
Same, plus the buyer's remorse for the Wii U generally hit me super hard after I realized this game was trash.
>Just lost all of the soul and identity of the first game
>the first game
>sixth entry in the franchise
There's only been two Xenoblade games, user.
This is the sixth Xeno game user.
I know you're not old enough to know this and the series is probably older than you are but you could have at least hit up wiki before making a fool of yourself.
The music playing over the scene at 20:13 sounds awful. It sounds like a mess. The melody isn't memorable, just a load of notes that just about make sense when played after each other. It feels like it's not really attached to the scene it's playing over, either, and it's way too overly dramatic. The "epicness" sounds forced. And it just doesn't fit the tempo of the scene all that well either. The Sawano drops aren't even necessary because it's just people standing there, not moving, listening to a speech. That's it. Fucking Sawano, his music fucking stinks.
There's only been two XenoBLADE game, user. The other games are Xenogears and the Xenosaga trilogy.
> The other games are Xenogears and the Xenosaga trilogy.
Glad you looked it up.
Just make sure you do it before hand next time.
Honestly sounds like the music is fighting with the dialogue and against cutscene itself.
I unironically like Black Tar, fite me irl
I'm afraid your shit taste is terminal user
Yep. I loved XC so I bought this full price. Rarely have I regretted a purchase so much.
Xenoblade wasn't even going to be a Xeno game.
What the fuck is a Xeno game without mechs? XC left me extremely dissapointed as an /m/ fag. This game scratched the itch I really wanted, but that's just me.
It had mechs user.
