That would make the home console's controller crazy expensive.

i love seeing all these shitty concept designs.

No, but I expect that smart phones and tablets will be able to be used as controllers since the smart phone screen is the most important screen in people's lives now.

Making it a literal phone is the worst thing they could do. Few people are gonna give up ios or android for a new, restrictive jap phone that has fuckall app support since it's just starting.

It would make even less sense for them to give up or buy a dedicated handheld hardware. Smrtphones are a lot more feasible and likely to be adopted. Japs would drop their samsungs in favour of a NIntendo branded smartphone in a heartbeat.

Yeah, it would be a huge hit because then casuals could just come together and use their phones, which they'll love. Well, it'll be another Wii then, but I just want to see Nintendo get some good sales now.

Japanese care less about Nintendo than most of the rest of the world in comparison to having their anime idol games - which Nintendo wouldn't have.

Sony isn't since they're still hung up on the TV being the center of entertainment.

Microsoft has moved into smart phones and is using Xbox as a name to refer to their focus on games in general instead of the console.

I'm fine with the idea of a pseudo handheld that is made to also be plugged into a TV, but for this to be the case it would have to be very weak hardware-wise and considering how far behind nintendo already is in the hardware department, I don't think it's a good choice.

Any hype around NX is pathetic.

3 years people talking about rumors how NX is going to be amazing. Guaranteed, everyone will be disappointed when it finally comes out.

Nintendo has given up on both of it's consoles. So should you.

What i can see happening is a tablet-like device with buttons
Proprietary mobile OS with a compatibility layer for Android apps similar to Sailfish OS
So you get Nintendo apps and android apps in one device

Not that I disagree with you, but the NX is going to be handicapped one way or the other.
What's going to be important is, what it brings to the table.

F-Zero NX and a return to the true 3D Mario would be a good start.

You can already do that to make an awesome emulation device out of your phone.

My hope for the NX is that Nintendo unify their handheld and console platforms so that going forward instead of having to buy two platforms you can just get every Nintendo game on a single console.

Nintendo will never be my main platform going forwards and needing to buy a Wii and also a DS is a pain just for Nintendo games.

Also Nintendo platforms recently have had aside from a few gems generally weak line-ups which I think is fair to say. However if you were to combine the 3DS and Wii U libraries into one then it would actually be pretty solid.

I'm already anticipating there defenses for the no backwards compatability and the pay for online after shitting on MS and Sony for it.

It would most likely run Android or a modified version of Android tho.

Because MonHun is pretty casual, famalama. I am not saying that it's not fun, because it is really fun, but people who considered it (or any game) "le hardcore" are not any better than CoD and MOBA turbo autists.

Games are made for fun, and you should play them for fun.
