Why do people hte Kingsglaive?

Kingsglaive is a decent film, not amazing but not bad either. Yes, there are some cringy Japanese cliches like exaggerated gestures and that princess/hero bullshit, but overall the film is pretty enjoyable. Also, the characters looks great, it looks realistic and not some generic plastic weeb dolls. So why do people hate it?

I think it's the motion capture on some of the actors faces and voices don't link up very well. Some of the actors were terrible. Especially the fat soldier.

The sync was less a problem than the largely poor performances.

Nyx and Regis were good, Luna was ok, the rest were seriously off.

All of the action shots were too tight/zoomed in, it was like watching a western action movie.
If they had pulled the POV back just a little then the frenetic action scenes would be easier to read.

I thought nix was fine, some of the characters motivations however made little to no sense. Hey we are betraying our king because he hid behind his wall, so we are teaming up with the nifs who actually fucked out lives over in the first place. Especially the princesses brother, mom died because of the other country but it's some how the kings fault. Would made more sense if the betrayer were sleeper agents than refugees who were taken in by a kindly old king.

It was not a terrible movie, but it was quite bad in terms of pacing, voice acting and editing. The base story is cool enough, but the rest doesn't deliver.

Very excited about the game, though. I'm confident it'll be, at the very, very least, a good game, unless it's still a technical mess by launch.

The fat guy leaves the Kingsglaive and joins the resistance. It's implied he spilled the beans on all their secret ongoings to the resistance, and then the resistance are later outed as terrorist (why?) on the news (run by who?) despite them not actually having done anything.

Also Glauca must have had so many chances to kill the fucking king and his son during his 12 years working undercover.

Why did the female Glaive get to deliver the tracking device to the princess? Why would the king want to track her? If that was the traitor captain's idea, then why did he have her killed instead of letting her give the tracking device to the princess? If it was the king's idea, why didn't he give the princess the "gift" when she arrived?

How can Glaucus serve the Empire before the king made the Kingsglaive? Was he pretending to be a refugee or did the Empire invade the migrant's home before attacking the garden and the king only bothered making the kingsglaive after he was attacked?

Why did did the princess leave the fat glaive? Because he's a famous "hero"? He didn't do anything heroic in the movie, and if he did, nobody alive but the princess saw it.

What's the point of using the princess as bait? The Empire did their sneak attack completely independently from the whole false rescue. The traitors can take care of the loyalists without wasting manpower making the bait.

Why were there no other traitors besides blondie when Glaucus summoned them to the RDV point to ambush Nyx?

Why did they have an inexperienced princess deliver the ring instead of the fat glaive who, despite being fat, is still an experienced spec ops soldier?

It's a pretty movie (and better than Warcraft) but boy, does it have plot holes.

He is obviously from a country far from lucis that was already defeated 12 years ago, remember lucis is only the latest in a string of defeated countries. He was general glauca before he undertook his undercover mission.

Because she never made it to tenebrae, she was killed in the lucis outlands right after she left. Plus her succeeding means the princess is lost and safe. Crows whole point was to make nyx and crowe do as the empire wanted, being a terrorist for one and discovering the airships and sending out the kingsglaive for another.

For me, the movie would have been fine without the fucking horrid voice acting and the Princess.

The Princess was just a farcical contrivance in every possible fashion.

If they voiced it in Jap, with English subs, and re-edited the story to work without the Princess, I'd really rate it.

This IS the problem. Same exact core flaw that Advent Children had, at that; it should have been a game/part of the game and not a movie.

Slow all the fight scenes down to 75% speed and it becomes a 7.5/10 movie.

Only someone who has seen under a few hundred films could call it a bad film, because it simply isn't true. There are thousands of films out there that look shittier, sound shittier, have worse acting, worse cinematography, worse special effects, worse narrative etc.
