Is MK8 even worth getting anymore? I'm considering buying it if it isn't still full price, but christ, even /vg/ isn't playing it anymore.

why does it matter if someone else is playing it or not?
Because the CPU is braindead retarded on 200cc. They weren't built for it. And even if they were, it'd get boring after a while if it were just CPU.
dunno about 200cc but there is always plenty of people in 150cc, never had a race with less than 9-10 people
When will we bring back Sup Forumseekend?
I miss racing with you guys.
Its the same game youve been playing for years but in HD (720p). Its solid but they couldve done a lot more with it. If driving around laps and throwing items with mario and friends is still fun to you, its worth getting.
Online is still very populated.
Smash Sup Forumseekend took over.
Shitposters and attentionwhores killed the Mario kart /vg/ and Sup Forumseekend threads
I'm still playing it online, yet I have mixed feelings about it.
this is my opinion from a competitive standpoint.
- I find the dlc tracks not as good as the original tacks.
- just like in mk7, the one way tracks are awful. they defy the core gameplay with items in mario kart 8.
- the itroduction of racing techniques like firehopping, soft drifting, drift sliding adds more to the gameplay but if that's for the better or worse... it's hard to tell. maybe it's for the better?
-200cc is pretty awful imo, because no tracks are designed for it, meanining, taking corners in this mode is not fun since you have to brake and braking is something that imo goes against mario kart 8 drifting and gameplay philosophy.
- the ingame gameplay mechanics as well as the hidden stats are not explained in the game at all. you have to search for info on your own.
the quality of the online racing without dedicated servers and shit is amazingly bad. the lag is so bad sometimes. you try to play with people around the world, and without any sort of bad connection indicator, the game becomes a lag fest with items not hitting or randomly, if the connection is really bad, even the server and gamespeed slowing down (this is worse than items not hitting).
I really hope nintendo manages to fix the online gameplay in mario kart 9 in the future.
>competitive standpoint
stop
>anyhting nintendo
>competitive
lmfao
>- the ingame gameplay mechanics as well as the hidden stats are not explained in the game at all. you have to search for info on your own.
This. It's pretty shitty not knowing the advantages you get for land/sea/air offhand.
>I find the dlc tracks not as good as the original tacks
Nigger, F-Zero tracks are tits
What a shitty opinion
>Playing Mario Kart 8 on Rainbow Road
>Coming 1st in the last section
>Demolished the competition gonna get those three stars
>Almost at the finish line
>Get hit by a fucking blue shell
>Start picking up acceleration
>Get hit by another fucking blue shell
>Drivers pass me
>Bowser runs into me
>Knocks me off the edge
>Turn console off
Haven't gone back to it since
>nintendo
>fix the online gameplay
got it with my Nintendo wii-u. its very good. even bought the dlcs track pack and i regret nothing.
>more dlc in 6 months
>current is gr8
What reason isnt there besides battle which is only fun with friends on a chouch
>is playing shitty mario rehashes on outdated overpriced hardware with shit online infrastructure worth buying
you answered your own question
More dlc is Coming?
because how can you be cool on Sup Forums unless you do things Sup Forums does?
There's more DLC coming? Cool to hear, can somebody link a sauce?
