seriously, i had more fun with 643D than this shit, never even played the original Star Fox 64 before. (Command was my first game, pls no bully)
online dogfights would be nice as well.

Star Fox is fucking dead again
>"Zero... Zero is bad, you guys, I swear!"
Ha ha.
who are you quoting?
Played it for only 2 stages and couldn't bear the controls, who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make barrel rolls with the stick?
i honest wished they gone with S&P2 control scheme, but the WiiU didn't come with a Wii Remote
coped with the gyro, but the game didn't deliver as much as i expected to be outside Sector Omega and Star Wolf fights
So the most controversial aspect of this game is the mandatory motion controls, but if you were in charge of coming up with a different control scheme, how would you map everything?
For me, I'd probably ditch the somersault and U-turn shortcuts, use X and B for Boost and brake respectively, use L and R for the tilt and the right stick for aiming with Bomb mapped to the Y button and everything else remaining the same
I'd make it so you turn the Arwing with the gamepad but you still have to look at both screens from time to time for a cockpit view.
didn't SF64 3DS had options for normal and gyro?
i'd just do that
put the aiming reticle movement back to the analog stick
The controls are literally the best part, you idiots. In fact, if the next SF game doesn't let me use gyro controls, I will probably just skip it.
Reminder that Star Fox Zero is a good game.
Reminder that it literally came bundled with another game.
Reminder that the only people didn't like it are:
1. Hardcore SF64 fans who can't let go of nostalgia
2. Players who cannot GIT GUD and learn new controls
>it's another "We pretend Zero is bad" episode
>Hardcore SF64 fans who can't let go of nostalgia
No these like Zero.
It's only 2.
it's very funny i never complained about the controls on my OP, only said i coped.
i just want more levels like Sector Omega or more of the bloody Lone Wolf/Wolfen fights.
I actually love Star Fox Zero and I admit the biggest issue is not so much the controls but the extra branching path levels suck and they were obviously last minute ditched efforts.
>It's another "We pretend Zero is good" episode
Someone post the 'Zero is a bad game regardless of controls' picture.
Fire Emblem nearly died because of you nostalgia fucks who can't let go of the past and not expanding the formula like KI:U did and lending the potential newblood a hand to enjoy the series too.
this was the last Star Fox game to ever sold pass a million.
The one filled with lies and opinions? Sure, go for it.
Why, so you have to swing your 3DS around like a retard? No, thank you.
>lies and opinions
Go away, Cody. I already saw the picture and it had some damn good points.
i have it
though it need to be update and revised in a couple of parts
like all the missing memorable 64 courses despite being a """rethought""" of 64 in HD
also, Bill actually helped at some parts
>memorable courses
Like?
Thanks, fellow user.
Area 6
Macbeth/Forever Train
Solar
64 Zoness
Katina
64 Venom
just the one on top of my head
Nintendo really dropped the ball with this one.
Miyamoto is a senile old man and needs to retire. I'm sorry but there's no way a healthy mind would allow this game to be released as is.
Don't forget Aquas.
you didn't have to do that on Star Fox 643D tho
but i thought people hated Aquas?
>forgetting about the gundam knockoff level
I didn't. I thought it was a nice change of pace, even if it was a little too slow.
thanks for reminding me Zero could've had some mobile suits into the gameplay
even Uprising had some
since this is a Star Fox thread
how was the banter in the Zero? is it memorable as 64 or was it godawful and cringey like Command?
pic related
Kind of in the middle. Pretty forgettable and nostalgia-bating most of the time.
>Star Fox 64 isn't on the NA Virtual Console
Fuck.
they were doing so fine with Aquarosa until this shit came:
youtube.com
the meme wasn't even that super-funny or lasting, why Nintendo keeps on pushing about this shit?
The Andross banter was pretty good, even if it really never meant anything in the end.
I never played Star Fox 64. Is the 3DS version fine? This seemed like a good thread to ask.
i like the little bayo running gag they dropped in that battle:
>"Opposing me is truly a death sentence." (evil laughter)
>"Just ask your father....huh? Hohohoho!"
When do we get a F-Zero x Star Fox crossover game?
A port won't fix Zero.
Just release Star Fox Zero Arcade mode on the eshop for like 15 bucks.
That's the only worthwhile content the game has.
It's controversial among people who never touched them. Anyone who has spent any amount of time with the game will tell you the controls need to become standard for the genre.
I'd say the 'controversial' aspects of the game among those who have actually played it is the lack of 64's route system, instead opting for a more generic mission select screen, which seems like a bit of a missed opportunity.
Everything else is a blatant improvement over 64, though.

No matter how many Zero threads you shitpost in, Cody, it's not going to make it a good game.
the 3DS version has:
>99% of everything in the original game
>updated visuals
>expanded multiplayer (COM bots, new stages, powerups like the Firebird, etc) (no online though)
>control options for either basic controls or gyro
only flaw is the missing/replaced VAs and change of dialogue like Falco saying Genius over "Einstein", but it's no biggie.
if you want to find out about 64 for the first time, it's a really good place to start.
>why Nintendo keeps on pushing about this shit?
dude it's just an easteregg, normal play of the game wouldn't show it.
It's 64 but half assed and rushed, Fox's reunion with his dad in Zero is even shorter believe it or not.
I always hated Star Fox, but goddamn it, it was my last hope for getting more on rail shooter if the game was succesfull.
>We'll never get the "Panzer Dragoon the complete SAGA" remastered
>We'll never get another fuckntastic Treasure game like Sin & Punishment 2
>We'll never get new 3D on-rail shooter at all
senpai, they been spouting "le barrel rol XDDD" since the day they revealed the game's title.
it's pretty clear they want people to jump up and down about it, but nobody not even people who "enjoyed" most of Zero are taking that crap.
Barrel Roll is raegface-tiers of a beaten horse Nintendo meme. at least Tubes still holds up.
>dat defensive butthurt
He did nothing to remotely trash 0, you shitposting drone.
>they been spouting "le barrel rol XDDD" since the day they revealed the game's title.
they have?
Where?
the meme came from the fanbase anyway, so I don't get your qualms.
The only bad part of SFZero was the controls. Thing is, they would've still forced gyro even on a 3DS port
Star Fox Zero is a great game. It was just doomed to fail because first off, motion controls give mouth breathers strokes at first mention and from there it becomes a nitpick fest.
Sup Forums was bound to listen to the hackneyed opinions of people like Yahtzee and Jim Sterling, most people here have not even touched the game and have no idea what they're talking about.
>Fox flying away from holo-Andross
>all of the sudden, Ghost James appears
>even Andross saw it
>manage to tangibly destroy him with a suicidal attack
the damn E3 reveal:
youtu.be
youtu.be
It'll release sooner than later at this point, since it seems Nintendo is giving the Wii U games about a year to sell, then porting them over, unless it's Smash.
Given how low quality the graphics were in Zero, as well as slow pace, they can very likely port it over to 3DS with minimal downgrades outside of complementary 3DS jaggies.
3DS has two screens and gyro, meaning in theory, it can work as a downgraded port. N3DS even has NFC for those amiibos, since people love those amiibo!
So how long does this fanboy keep rehashing his "yuh moshun controles" defense?
And when will we get GC games on WiiU? I want Assault.
so your reason for hating the game is because the E3 trailer and secret easteregg references the barrel roll meme? ok
motion controls aren't always bad, besides Donkey Konga's Wii port that was a mistake.
Please, Nintendo! Release this shitty game on 3DS fags also!!! Unleash the cancer.
Funny you say that since mouth breathers are the first to get excited about flimsy gimmicks that never worked as intended.
Why not just hack wii mode and play GC games via nintendont?
It has support to classic controller, wiiu pro and even ps3 controller.
i'm talking about how Nintendo keeps on wringling this deadhorse meme everywhere Star Fox walk at, not shitting on the entire game because of it.
You're retarded. No one will defend Wii's waggle of old but gyro is as close as console has ever come to KB+M accuracy and that's just a fact.
Splatoon, TPHD's minigames, and SF0 all play like a dream with gyro active. It's gimmicky but it actually works for once, and generally better than twin stick when you get used to it.
>gyro
>gimmick
bad bait
Nintendo only did a few references to the meme specifically for Starfox 0's early promotional material, and as a secret easteregg. Apparently, this was enough to trigger you.
the WiiU is dead as shit
the NX might provide all the VC stuff we've been asking for for the entire gen, so i suggest you wait for that.
>guy has legit complaint about awful writing and Nintendo being so out of touch that they incorporate 10 yo memes into their games
>somehow he's wrong
C'mon, dude... you're the one that seems to be triggered.
do this:
It's the only reason I didn't sell my Wii U. It's a pretty good emulation machine.
I didn't once claim him to be wrong, I merely clarified that it was there only to those seeking it out in trailers and eastereggs.
it's pretty fucking sad they aren't that many hackers that aren't into WiiU hacking
at least the Wii had all of the leaked Dolphin docs to become a walking emulator machine
