Where's the goofy and wacky nature of the other Mother games? Even in Mother 3 the threatening looking enemy had some goofy quirks to them.

They were never given the go ahead. Itoi saying someone else would make a new mother doesn't equate to nintendo allowing people to make one. If it's associated with them(it is inherently by being called MOTHER 4) and they deem it harmful to their brand (They will because they didn't make it) then it's gonna get C&D'd within 72 hours of it being released.

Literally not true. Itoi doesn't have the authority to let fans create "Mother 4", and an offhand comment by him doesn't mean anything.
