Guys, I've hit the late 20s wall

Guys, I've hit the late 20s wall

The wall where no matter how good games have gotten, I can't enjoy playing video games anymore

Has anyone else reached this point in their life?

Sorry but I never experienced that so I can't help you.

I'm 23 at the moment and I find it really hard to be interested in new video games.

The only new game I bought this year was Fire Emblem: Birthright

Only Breath of the Wild is exciting to me.

get another hobby, start spending some time traveling and trying new things out, read a book even
you'll come back to video games, but you just need a break

Games aren't really worth playing anymore. Wish it wasn't like that but I haven't enjoyed a game since FEZ.

This. There's a billion hobbies cheaper than vidya and sometimes adding a little variety to your life can bring you back to vidya.

Play casual stuff on a console
shit like NBA, WWE, Gears Of War or Batman

i feel close to that point OP
shame i turn 21 on the 29th though
it can only get worse right?

>Take break from videogames for anime from 23 to 29
>Still not interested in videogames again
Bullshit

This has nothing to do with age, nearly 30 and still loving vidya.

Maybe you just don't like video games anymore. Move to Sup Forums or /lit/ or Sup Forums or something.

How are the other aspects of your life?

You need to be brutally honest and ask yourself whether you're not enjoying your leisure time because you're burned out on your hobbies, or because you feel like you're avoiding responsibilities.

I'm 25 and at that point but I don't think it has anything to do with the games themselves or age. I've just been deeply unhappy for years and I don't have it in me to enjoy games, books, or movies anymore. I can still tell the difference between bad games and good games even though I'm not actually having fun, though.

I do like videogames.

Videogames have just been complete shit for the last 6 years, and/or I've been cripplingly depressed.

>whether you're not enjoying your leisure time because you're burned out on your hobbies, or because you feel like you're avoiding responsibilities
Was about to post this. It's impossible to enjoy vidya when you've got other things on your mind. On the flipside, you'll have a decade or two to enjoy vidya when you retire if that's the case.

Mother nature wants you to mating press nakadashi cute girls, not play videogames. And thus, gaming gets increasingly boring as you grow up.

Or maybe you're just depressed. Very common to end up in a bad place around24-30 because of biological and environmental/cultural factors.

b-but i thought that's what leisure time was for
no really i abuse this free time and don't even try to do what i like, i had a hobby about 3d animation, i'm liking storytelling but i'm not looking into either

I'm into video games now because I finally have a decent paying job so I can buy a lot of vidya I'm just getting into ps3 I'm starting to get into yakuza and demons souls

I'm 24 and like videogames too. it's the AAA titles that are crap.

i have no interest in xbone or ps4 for the most part. I still enjoy buying and playing older games and when a good indie sidescroller comes out i buy and enjoy those. There are still plenty of good games being made you just gotta look a little harder now.

Just take amphetamines or methylphenidates, you'll feel enthusiastic to play vidya and do your calculus homework at the same time. Couldn't have made it through college without drugs.

I'm 18 and was this way for the past 3 years.
You know what game made me love vidya again?
MGSV.

I've gotten through a bunch of my backlog now and am currently (finally) playing through FFVII and love it so far.

God I love MGSV so much. I could write pages and pages of why it's a masterpiece.

For those that say otherwise, just remember MGS2. I was 4 years old and remember the hissy fit people threw over Raiden and the Big Shell in general. Now people (rightfully) love it. MGSV is literally nuMGS2, taken even further and is a bit more subtle in it's meta.
