The Mega Drive one is complete shit. The sound is off, the colors are washed out, no save points, it's a good idea executed horribly.

You are aware that the Virtual Console is a thing, right? You can buy any NES game you want there, the NES mini is just overall cheaper if you intend to actually play all of those games.

For me it's nostalgia, and the novelty of being able to play on a mini NES with the pad and everything.

The VC is overpriced as fuck though.

Not to mention the Virtual Console is inferior to emulators as it lacks many of the features you'd find in emulation.

They have sales occasionally that makes it bearable, but yeah I agree. Though again, that's why the NES mini is a thing, you're getting the games at a much cheaper price than just buying all the games in the VC. I'm mostly getting this for Startropics and FF though, which aren't even on the VC.

While not a recent change (it was in the original localization apparently), I've heard over and over again that the old man who teaches you how to catch Pokemon originally had a hangover in the Japanese version, which was then changed to needing his morning coffee in the localization.
