When you kill all your new friends in a psychotic/cold blooded rampage to save your already dying brother

>When you kill all your new friends in a psychotic/cold blooded rampage to save your already dying brother.

To be fair they sort of had it coming, they were gonna go behind his back to kill the man's brother. Dying or not, that's a low blow.

Why is Ludger so best.

What ending u want senpai?

>bad ending #1
>bad ending #2
>an even worse ending

They were going behind his back because they needed Ludger's brother to die in exchange for saving the world, also Julius already agreed to it. He knew he was dying anyway, Ludger just wasn't willing to watch his brother sacrifice himself, he loved him too much.

Actually the secret/true ending is pretty good even though Ludger is dead in it I actually like the regular ending where Ludger becomes CEO of that company and ends up meeting Elle's mother, and then it's implied they end up dating/marrying and then Elle is born.

That's not really a bad ending, the true ending shows Elle as like a young adult who became an agent like Ludger, and she is still friends with Jude, Rowen, Elise, Alvin and everyone else. So they still took care of her even after Ludger sacrificed himself.

I wish we could have seen the older versions of the characters after the time-skip, like Jude as an adult and Elise, also I wasn't sure if Rowen was even still alive or not because it was like a 10 or 15 year timeskip towards the end of the game.

>Julius' father fucked the sister of his wife and had a kid with her
kek

Julius still loves Ludger with all his heart right?
;-;

Of course he does, did you even play the game? It's pretty obvious Julius really loved his brother a lot.

Regular ending is best ending from objective standpoint.

Regular ending: Ludger alive and an Elle will be born later.

True ending: Only Elle is alive.

Basically if Ludger sacrifices himself he will also sacrifice the Elle meant for his dimension. 2 lives vs 1.

Julius and Ludger deserved better

Still bitter we never really get to see Elle's mom for more than a second in one of the endings

But the game makes a point of saying that Ludger cares for that Elle over an Elle that may exist in the future. Just like Ludger and Elle cared for fractured Milla and didn't want her to die for prime Milla.

Top tier boss fight, gaius felt stronger than xil 1 too. Lots of running and hoping to not get gibbed

Nobody really seemed to give a shit about Ludger's mental state except for Leia.

>dude just like kill your brother. what's taking you just kill him

Fuck em.

Remind me how she died

Well obviously Ludger cared more for the Ellie he bonded with over the one that hadn't been born yet. When the Elle in his dimension would be born, he'd have to get to know her all over again and re-build all the memories and connections with her.

That's why he preferred fractured Elle over prime Elle, he didn't want to wait for prime Elle to be born because he had already gotten use to fractured Elle traveling with them. The same concept applies to fractured Millia, Ludger and Elle never knew prime Milla and made connections with fractured Millia.

I know right? They knew that Ludger's brother had to die, and they probably assumed Ludger had prepared himself for it so they didn't understand why he was hesitating. They were all shocked when he started going on a murderous rampage, it was completely unexpected.

>and she is still friends with Jude, Rowen, Elise, Alvin
>being friends with the ones telling Ludger 'hey man, you should totally kill your brother. that would really be ace'

Wow sounds great sign me up

Some friends who don't even talk to you and give you the cold shoulder if you sacrifice Elle instead of yourself.

Everyone was a cunt in Xilia except for Leia, who'd want to be friends with them anyway right?

Alvins backstory in the alternate dimension gave me the feels hard bros. finally find happiness and success alongside your best bro and having to destroy it. Xillia 2 is the nier of tales

Name a single protagonist in anything ever that had a harder life than this poor bastard? (and yes he's a literal bastard)

SMT I Hero.

The true ending happens after Ludger WILLING kills his brother and then chooses to sacrifice himself to save the world, the bad ending and true ending are two completely different endings. In the bad ending Ludger chooses you kill Jude and everyone else to protect his brother, while in the true ending Ludger resolves himself to save the world and makes amends with his brother.

Jude the others never really edged him on, unless you willing choose NOT to kill Julius, if you say I can't do it then Jude and everyone else will be like "LUDGER YOU GOT TO THOUGH!! IF YOU DON'T KILL YOUR BROTHER THE PLANET IS DOOMED!" It depends on your choice, if you choose to kill your brother then Jude and everyone else is more sympathetic towards you for making such a hard decision.

Yeah, I wondered about that. In the normal ending they don't mention anything about what happened to Jude, Rowen, Alvin, Leia, and everyone else. You become CEO of the corporation, but it's like all your "friends" just drop off the face of the earth. I'm sure Ludger was still good friends with them, they just didn't bother mentioning it.

I do think Ludger's tale is pretty fucking sad, he experienced a lot of tragedy and shit in his life.

Most of their character development was really well done in xillia 2 desu.

Tales of Xillia 2 was god-tier for me, I didn't have any issue with it and I ended up doing pretty much everything in the game except devil arm weapons. I did pay off the debt, and do all the other little side quests and missions though.

I'd say I did 95% of the game, almost 100%.

Plat here, devil arms were key in destroying some of mirror bosses because they could fucking rape. My biggest complaint is how arbitrarily combos would drop god damn. Every time someone knocked a monster into the air and it landed the combo would end 70% of the time even with millions of hits landing constantly

>Witnessing Presa's death twice.

If that isn't suffering, what is?

Brad from Lisa

this was the most awesome battle in the game, we need more 1v7 in jrpgs

>run like a bitch until you can transform into kamen rider the fight.
It owned.

She died due to the toll of seeing and knowing her husband killed off Julius, Bisley, and his friends (minus Milla and Muzet bc spirits and also Gaius who just he gave an injury that effectively crippled him). It broke her and she ended up dying while Elle was really young bc of, and I'm not even sure she ever knew why her husband did that....

Her design was cute though and I wish we could have actually learnt about her more as a character than just being Elle's mom.

Such a shame.

It really was satisfying getting to renovate Jude's face. That guy has fucking brain problems.

I had to switch the difficulty to Easy.

Played Berseria's demo earlier today
Was surprisingly good

Might pick the nip PS4 version when it gets cheaper

I loved how xillia 2 monsters inflicted you with status effects constantly. And no ribbon itam to be found.

>tfw I have a younger brother
>got to that part and shit got personal
>refused to sacrifice Julius even though I knew it would lead to bad endings

And that was THE ONLY PART that the Tales Of series ever got close to giving me feels.

will tales ever be good again

It's already Graces f was good, Xillia 2 was excellent and Berseria is pretty solid.

I want to forget Shitstiria though

Velvet had it pretty rough but atleast she got a somewhat happy ending out of her suffering

Graces f gameplay was a blast with a mediocre story. Xillia one was bland in both but xillia 2 pulled some crazy voodoo and the story felt pretty original compared to the past few tales games. Hopefully the competent members of those def teams make their own game and manage to combine the story with the gameplay
