>play RPG
>arrive to a new shop
>can afford all of the new and better weapons and armor
Play RPG
>go to praven
>arms shop has a Masterwork Heavy Bastard Sword
>armor shop also has a Lordly Milanese Armor
>horse shop has Champion Charger
>able to buy all three items
>play RPG
>arrive to a new shop
>can afford all but one of the new and better weapons and armor
>Buy Strong New Weapon
>Go into a dungeon and open a treasure chest two minutes later.
>Strong New Weapon+1
I love this feel
>fully gear up at the shop
>find everything for free in the next dungeon
>have to spend a lot of money on recipes to make the parts for equipment
>have to pay to have the parts made into equipment
>too low level to properly make the materials in the first place
Cool
>Spend a long time chaining together materials until you're finally able to make what you want.
>Synthesis failure.
>monsters drop healing items
>sell them for cash
>use cash to buy equipment
You have a healer for a reason.
>Game forces alchemy fetch quests to make your weapons stronger
>play rpg
>you can make way better and broken weapons and armor without using the shop
>have millions of unused cash
>Find a powerful weapon in a dungeon
>Boss is immune to it
>find mid-game weapon in early-game
>load up supporting character with expensive gear
>character permanently dies in a scripted event
>all their gear is lost forever
>play rpg
>boss uses heal immediately after being attacked and can sap all your mana
>took 20 minutes to realize i have to use reflect on the boss
guess the game
>an hour after you buy new shit you find the same stuff off mobs or in a dungeon
>certain party member can only use one weapon
>only way to get it is as a rare drop from a rare monster
>monsters stops spawning when you beat the boss
>HorribleSubs
Pathetic, you don't even speak Japanese?
Name one game.
>Enemy drop mechanics are so absolutely fucked you can get the best weapon in the game from enemies in the starting area.
Name one game.
>make new weapon
>better version is released
Name one game.
ffx
Earthbound
>Slog my way through balls hard dungeon.
>reach the exit
>enter town
>find weapons and armor that would've been perfect for the dungeon if I had them
I admit to bullshitting. I apologize.
Not enemy drops, but you could fish for the Seedler (hardmode weapon from Plantera) pre-hardmode before a patch in Terraria.
FUCK YOU WARFRAME
Your sin is atoned.
Be in piece.
>enter dungeon
>chest with game's most powerful spell
>can't use it because you can't recruit the character who learns it
>the strongest weapon is a watering can
In b4 "name one game" it's Rune Factory.
guys i love space dandy
>the character who would learn it is an antagonist
>by getting the chest, you prevent them from learning it and using it against you
the game doesn't exist
>play RPG
>fight slime
>lose on purpose and get raped for days, raising your vaginal, anal and mouth counters by 50 each
>Party member gets killed in a cutscene.
>Find a weapon upgrade exclusively for them in the next dungeon.
>Reach the end of the dungeon and oh hey they weren't dead after all bet you didn't see that coming huh
>go to Gran Soren blacksmith
>they're all masterworks
>can't possibly go wrong
There is almost certainly a fire dungeon that gives a fire sword that includes a fire boss immune to fire. You're probably right even if you can't name the game.
>play RPG
>Magic takes more than just "push button" to cast
>play rpg
>locked doors, chests, and shit in random areas
>get party member who can pick locks
>backtrack and get endgame gear from previous areas
>the game naturally sends you back to these areas much later, where you would get the items at an appropriate level
How would you possibly have enough money to buy all three of these and not already have just as good/comparable equipment?
Everybody loves Space Dandy.
At that point I just take a minute to grind the money, efficiency be damned.
>If you leave the shop the inventory resets and the item you wanted is no longer available.
>be lvl 200lvl 1000 dungeon
>poison can kill and scales with HP
>find end-game weapon+6
Unffff
>find famous weapon used by legendary figure
>worse stats than sword sold in town
>both worse than random sword dropped by a spider
>all worse than shit you can make yourself
This is, like, literally the fucking opposite of the way it should be.
>Go to craft and shit
>Fuse 2 shit guns
>Obtain Master Death Lightening Cock+
user, you're playing with fire, watch it.
>You can upgrade it later in the game and it becomes a characters Ultimate Weapon
I dunno, could work.
>space level
>hey everett starts playing
>all the best equipment is from dungeons and quests
>halfway through the game you have more money than you can possibly spend
How do you grind money in RPGs?
Usually the same way you level grind?
>Go out of town
>Move around a little
>Battle
Gee, I dunno?
>Have to grind for hours for materials to get new weapons
>Impossible to continue on before you do this
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
>Can set encounter rate to 0
>Enter higher level dungeon and loot all the chests for strong items.
Bravely series is a fun one.
trimming other players' armour and shiet
>Kill stuff in the wild
>Somehow I gain tons of gold for selling wolf teeth
What RPG are we talking about?
>Mage damage output: 100
>Mage damage output after running out of MP: 5
>Warrior damage output: 200 with every swing
>things that never happened
user pls
Regardless of anything else, I did say "efficiency be damned".
Not to mention you're probably pretty close to that final item anyway.
>Spend all my money on new gears in shops to prepare for a new dungeon
>Two minutes into the dungeon, find better stuff
>mage has all these cool debuffs that seem useful
>normal enemies too weak to bother wasting them on
>bosses are immune
Makes sense
>Not looting swadian knight armies for horses
Golden Sun?
fucking tartarus
>Party members have different amounts of exp, so they don't level up as all at once.
>Spend ages evening them all out.
>Part comes up where the team is split up.
>shop has extremely expensive endgame weapon somewhere even though it's only midgame
>sell everything just to get it
>smash through midgame
Fucking Bravely Default
>Finally bring everyone to the point where they level up simultaneously even if they have experience differences
>LOL FOR THIS PART YOU'RE ONLY PLAYING AS AGNES AND TIZ!
>Fuck you game, I'm turning random encounters off
>OH AND ALSO YOU HAVE TO BEAT THIS BOSS!
FFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK
>early game desparate for money to buy the things you need
>the things you need are a one-time purchase so latemiddle/endgame money is worthless
At least let me buy whores.
>monsters dole out experience as a lump sum
>rare varieties of monsters give out even more experience than usual
>gets divvied up between living party members at the battles completion
>about to finish combat with a rare monster
>total team wipe save one character
>succeed
>character spikes up three levels ahead of the party
it seems all threads lead to Gran Soren
>play pokemon
>buy an assload of poke balls
>next town has great balls available
Well of course, Dragon's Dogma players post in packs.
>If they're dead they don't get any xp
>Now permanently behind
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>One more hit to get a wild Pokemon down into catching range.
>Crit
>Arrive at store
>Can't sell my shit
they're probably weak to fire too
I love balls too.
>Play RPG
>Shop always sells way too expensive items for you to afford them
>by the time you can afford it you already have equally good or better items
alternatively
>Play RPG
>Trust that the game doesn't just hand you a shop to spend your money in vain
>all that you buy there is useless and gets replaced in less than an hour
What are some games that do Shops right?
The only way to make shops right is to have them offer exclusive shit you literally can't find anywhere else, which is why literally the only thing I used my money for in Xenoblade Chronicles X was for buying Skell frames when I reached the required level for them.
>play pokemon
>buy ten pokeballs
>get a free premier ball
>sell the regular pokeballs immediately after buying them
>keep the premier ball
>buy 50 balls at once because i can afford it, thinking i'll get 5 premier ball
>only get 1
>Because it loved you it landed a critical hit!
And that's when I stopped using Amie.
>End game dungeons encounter rates cannot be toggled on/off
Right. Or just make the loot in the world very rare.
This is not a good sign though.
If shit is too easy to get its bad news.
>spend all my money on weapons and armor in town
>find duplicates in the next dungeon
>enemies too weak to use status aliments on
>bosses immune to all aliments
SMT?
>Shop sells a new type of weapon none of your current characters can equip
>make a post
>niggas say the same shit you said
I could see something like that happening in BoF4
>buy strongest available for later use
>accidentally miss recruiting new character
>Character leaves party.
>Shops keep selling stronger and stronger gear for them.
>Wait for them to rejoin.
>They never do.
Those first two posts are within one auto update/posting delay of each other, basically simultaneous.
>playing MMO
>guildmate gives you lvl80+ only weapons and armor
>quit playing at lvl. 20
>Play RPG
>There's an "equip strongest gear" button
>Doing so makes you look like shit
>Doesn't matter because there's fashion slots for gear too
