According to this German fansite there's going to be a surprise Nintendo Direct on Tuesday where they'll talk about the Nintendo NX.

I shouldn't believe everything I see on the Internet but I'm starved for information.

New Direct made it obvious that NX is a Wii U replacement since 3DS is still well supported with many new games.

Thsi guy posts in every NX thread and just says reveal in October. He had other info but got pissed because no one believed him without proof or sources. Now he just says "Reveal in October" and will supposedly come here when it's revealed to btfo out of the people who doubted him.

I dunno. Most of what they showed were either ports, extremely underwhelming titles, games announced earlier in 2015-2016, or a new Pikmin. Enough not to abandon the 3DS, but not enough to make you think it'll still be around by next year.

I think it's way more likely that the supposed "Sept 6" date is just for a teaser of the actual reveal, which should be Sept 20 (like a lot of others have reported)

Mobile tech is cheap as fuck. The thing that pushes the cost up on phones is cameras, build, and screens all of which Nintendo can skimp on for a gaming device.
Hell the Vita was definitely top of the line considering it had the same cpu as the iPhone 4S and the same gpu as the iPad 2.
A Nintendo device using a plastic build, the same crappy VGA cameras maybe even upgraded to 2MP this time, and a standard 720p LCD could easily fit an X1 at below $200, they could probably even fit the X2 at $300.

The X1 in reality has sub-360 performance and has yet to be used in a mobile device because of it's cooling issues. Yet Nintendo will use it in some kind of hybrid device that's meant to be mobile. Right.
