So what's the verdict? Is Tales back from the dead or should be ignored?

So what's the verdict? Is Tales back from the dead or should be ignored?

It's better than zesteria that's for sure.

Baby got back.

That's not really saying much.

Pretty good. Fun battle system, best characters since Zestiria, Velvet's actually a really good character and had had the shittiest life of any character in the franchise, decent story for Tales I guess. Music is forgettable as usual. It's not perfect, but it's the best game in the series since Vesperia. Fucking skits annoy me though they way they so often just pop up. The majority of skits are still optional, but there are several that just automatically pop up at certain points. But this is a pretty minor complaint, I'm nitpicking. The fact that I have to nitpick is a good thing.

>best characters since Zestiria
Who would have guess that it would have the best characters since the last game?

Does it have non-linear dungeons with puzzles and a walkable world map?

It's not really good desu. This game is only good at one thing and that is being the Tales game that came after the shithole that is Tales of Zestiria. To most people It is simply good because of that. But not me. I judge games based on their gameplay because it's a "game" not a movie or anything like that.

Berseria has casualied a series that wasn't difficult to begin with . There are many things in the form of combat depth that was removed from the series and replaced with nothing. The boss fights are trash compared to the older games so no one is going to be hype about doing solo runs. The characters are good though.

It all boils down to whether or not you play this series for the anime shit or for the combat. You can't have both in Berseria.

Someone fill me in on Seres, I missed the spoiler streams

Oops, meant Vesperia. Zestiria's characters weren't too great.

>Implying Xillia had bad characters

Nope and nope.

Xillia was fine, but I enjoyed Zesty's cast interaction more. Outside of Rose.

While everyone else were terrible I did enjoy Sorey and Mikleo. I know people will just say because I'm gay for them but they were the best/only good parts in the game.

>Outside of Rose
>Hating perfection

Go back to your cage Baba.

Well, I'm the guy who wrote , but I have to agree with you on some points. Boss fights really aren't very good. In fact, I barely remember any of them and I've been playing the game daily for nearly a week. Just beat Melchiore so I must be nearly done. And it's ridiculously easy. I usually play games on normal first time through and bump it up on subsequent playthroughs if I want to, but I had to set the difficulty to hard in Berseria which feels like normal mode of some of the older titles. Not really sure what you're on about as far as combat depth goes though. True, there's no normal attack > arte > arcane arte > mystic arte combo, but that wasn't in every game to begin with, so I'm okay with that. Still annoyed about the gimping of shortcuts though, I always set healing artes to those, and unless I'm being retarded, you can only set shortcuts for your own artes in Berseria. I can't, for example, set Magilou's Hurtless Circle on a shortcut so I can tell her to use it while playing as Velvet with a simple button press.

I didn't say that, I just said that I think Berseria has the best cast since Vesperia. Xillias was alright.

Well that's a bummer.

"You can do anything you want as long as you don't feel bad doing it!"

God Baba really went out of his way to fuck up that game.

I certainly don't hate her ass.

...

What's the co-op like in this game?

Ha, wow, I'm the one who posted that picture a year and a half ago. Surprised people still use it.

I'm one of those weird people who save screenshots. So yeah I still use it sometimes.

Finished it yesterday, I found it enjoyable, but fuck that backtracking. Good lord so much of it.
