no. it's totally playable. but just like monhun, you WILL run into retards playing it who refuse to play to the objectives, or hunt down mods and other idiocy.

do you think the online will be at least decent by the time the game drops to ~20-25 dollars? I do think the game looks fun, as I try to keep my frustrations towards nintendos treatment of Metroid seperate from my opinion of how the game plays. I really wanted to play it after playing blast ball but it not being a simple 15-20 dollar eshop game made me not buy, didnt look anywhere near worth 40 to me and I buy almost every game first day (bravely second, kirby robobot, fates, starfox zero, you name it)

I remember some 4player free for all fighting game I had for DS where eventually the online became dominated by "friendly players" who would not attack each other, and if you tried to fight they would team up on you. what the fuck is even the point of playing a fighting game at that point?

obviously its not, but that shouldnt change your opinion of it as a game. nintendo either a. pulled out a scrapped dsi metroid game to filler in between bigger 3DS releases or b. it was originally a different game that they slapped the metroid name onto. you have to realize that a "true" metroid game is likely to never happen again at this point

Games from a decade ago were really good though. The only thing that has really improved since then is online and online features.
