It's Igarashi-era Castlevania that rips off Souls mechanics. The discount Tim Burton-style art direction is crap, but the game itself is quite good.
7/10, worth twenty bucks.

I expected a "muh 2d dark souls" piece of shit.
It's actually a pretty good game, still surfing on the "muh hardcore soul like", but the thing doesn't pose any problem in the end.

Platforming controls terribly and the combat isn't very good though.
Despite trying its hardest to rip off Souls it still feels closer than SoTN-style Castlevania games than Souls. Which is nice because there aren't many metroidvania game with RPG elements like this. Hell there are barely any that even let you equip a bunch of different weapons with different attacks and properties.
Its pretty good.
But it also has these fuckers.

It's a mediocre game and a blatant Souls ripoff. The art in it is terrible.
It's more fun co-op than solo
They also tried to salvage the looks by applying a million of shitty filters which made it look even worse.
It's decent enough but doesn't change anything on newgame+.
The platforming controls rather well. The only thing thats trash is how slow ledge grabbing is(trying to climb over the Pyramide ie)

But there is lots of enemies in S&S with instant kill levels of damage, but those enemies are easy to deal with besides their gimmick
What makes Spindebeasts so special, is how they land their attacks. They charge like a horse, raise their horn, horn impalement behaves like Mount & Blade lances, and on it it enters a animation where it impales you.
There is like 5 of them in a area where you can platform around them.

The developers literally said "yeah, we basically ripped off souls but threw in some classic castlevania" so please stop being retarded.
Really high damage that equals 1 hit kills for most characters.
Even if you survived it and healed yourself, there's a good chance that you won't survive a second attack since the game slightly cuts down your health bar after every attack until you visit another sanctuary.
Fighting them is also almost pointless since they only drop like 100 sou..salt and maybe some upgrading material.
Hanging men made me rage, unblockable attacks with infinite range are the worst.
They behave and work like Wheel Skeletons.
Except:
1. Its in 2D, so you can't sidestep them
2. They don't really have downtime
3. They have a decent HP pool and poise
More like Salty Sanctuary, because I got mad and refunded it.
