Target has them on sale for 42 bucks, which stacks with a 50 Dollar off Cartwheel App scan for 21 bucks. 21 bucks for old stock of a current gen console that's easily hackable.
If you want one, get one now. This might have finally beaten the 99 dollar OLED 3G Vita + Gravity Rush + Hot Shots golf from 2012.
Meant 50 percent off. Some stores still also have the Lego bundle for 100, so if you really want a DS3 and the other shit, that's an option too.
Owen Gonzalez
It was 20 dollars last year on Amazon
Owen Price
Here is the thing though.
With Vita TV, you don't really have as big of. Memory card problem. Though not terribly continent, you could easily get by with an 8 GB card and mange it through the ememory manager app, essentially using your PC to "swap cards" over the network.
Handheld users don't have this option, but It is a viable option for Vita TV.
James Foster
That was then, this is now. So many threads these days of people buying vitas and trying to get older firmwares. This might be one of the last chances to do so at a good price brand new with older stock.
Brody Davis
I know it is no guarantee, but what firmware did yours end up having?
Cameron Martinez
If you get the bundle version, it comes with an 8GB memory card and Dual Shock controller, plus an old firmware.
If you have a PS3 and an extra Vita memory card laying around (preferably 8GB or higher) the standard version is all you need.
Gimme a few and I will tell you. Need to find a compatible controller and check.
This is actually my 2nd vita TV. Current one is at 3.52 and I am hoping this new one will be earlier. That way I have something for PSP havks and something for Vita hacks.
Levi Nguyen
>Mona Fan
Wow, long time no see!
Doing another vidya deals general this Christmas?
Sebastian Morales
Pro tip: like other shitty 8th gen Sony decisions, Vita TV has no feet. Go to Walmart, and buy like a 2 buck pack of feet so the damned puck doesn't slide around.
John Mitchell
We will see, we will see.
Also, fuck yeah.
Nicholas Allen
Who HENkaku here?
Jose Jackson
I am not, nor am I that well versed. By all means, link some links and post some guides.
My 64GB card is in my Vita, and I swap the card between both devices
Am I screwed on the PS TV for HENkaku?
Charles Lopez
Nope actually, there's a way to make it work. Both using the same PSN account?
Liam Perry
Yup, pls help user
Lincoln Long
You forgot about the $100 memory card, dumbass
Brandon Brooks
>no games
No thanks
Matthew Walker
Is there a way to hack the VitaTV to see network storage as a memory card? That would be the best workaround to the overpriced storage.
Jack Lopez
Sony shill thread?
Gavin Hernandez
Remember that if you buy a PS TV new, you’re guaranteed to have a firmware below 3.60, as the production of PS TV was discontinued a while ago. A such, new PS TVs are guaranteed to be on a low firmware.
Liam Taylor
>Have no memory card in PSTV >Get VitaUpdateBlocker working on the PSTV (very important) >Get HENkaku >Switch the PSTV to IDU mode >Put the 64GB in the PSTV and reboot >Unslave the memory card temporarily with memcardswap >Switch the PSTV out of IDU mode >Reboot >Unslave the memory card permanently with memcardswap
No unfortunately
Mason Ramirez
No, but again it's not as bad a problem as it is for handheld vita owners due to the PC memory manager software to swap files over the network. Me a Sony shill? Thanks for the laugh.
Cameron Collins
Would this cause any problems when putting the card back in my 3.61 Vita?
Grayson Phillips
Watch who you're talking to, tripfaggot. I'll fucking end you
Christopher Young
>which stacks with a 50 Dollar off Cartwheel App scan
What's that and how do I use it?
Ryan Morgan
No, after you do all this you should be able to swap the memory card back and forth between the two consoles happily.
Just don't update the PSTV, so you can undo the permanent hack if necessary.
Andrew Hernandez
You're a diamond user
Mason Hill
Okay, is there any way to have access to pirate PSP games, access PSN store OR have the ability to connect to PS3 to install PSN games, whitelist non-compatible vita TV title AND pirate vita games? What havks and what firmware?
Aiden Brooks
>have smart phone >download cartwheel app >add the coupon to your account >go to target with vita tv in stock >grab one, go to checkout >scan your cartwheel QR code >get the amount taken off.
Colton Cruz
Does it not work online?
Isaac Garcia
>Okay, is there any way to have access to pirate PSP games 3.52 and below >access PSN store HENkaku does it on 3.60 only > have the ability to connect to PS3 to install PSN games Any firmware can do this with VitaUpdateBlocker >whitelist non-compatible vita TV title 3.60 and anything at or below 3.52 firmware can do this > pirate vita games? 3.60 only with HENkaku. Also the selection is a bit limited atm, some games don't dump correctly
Nicholas Thomas
Yep!
Tyler Gutierrez
Don't vita games look like shit on a big TV though? and aren't you limited to only games that don't rely on touch controls?
Jason Anderson
>with older stock There are no new Vitas available, every single (sealed) Vita you buy is guaranteed to have low FW you uneducated tripfag.
Matthew Jackson
I seem to be in a similar position. I don't care about vita piracy. But I absolutely need to be able to play every vita game on Vita TV, and play PSP game dumps and all legit vita games.
So 3.52 is the firlmware I should be using? And staying on? Any good update blocked tutorials?
Christopher Cooper
Every vita tv will not have firmware past 3.6, but for vita hacks someone might want even older firmware.
Gabriel James
As a Nintendo die-hard, if you are cool with Wii games on an HD set, vita TV shouldn't be a problem for you. Just make sure you have a good panel with a decent scaler.
I mean, vita games should look better on a TV than wii Games, 480p vs 540p internal rendering after all.
Andrew Richardson
They look OK. No, you can emulate touch controls with the DS3 (clumsy) or DS4 (less clumsy)
3.52 sounds like what you want. Most people care more about pirating Vita games than PSP games which is why they're rallying around 3.60.
Kevin Jones
Every PSTV is sold with 3.20 so there is no reason whatsoever to be worried about "last chances with older stock" as there is no such thing as new stock.
Carter Scott
Has HENkaku allowed for any cool PSTV hacks?
like forced 1080p, etc.?
Julian Foster
No as it's not CFW. It's just a mere memory patch.
Aaron Harris
> forced 1080p not happening
there's the whitelist hack but you probably know about that
the only thing that's kind of cool is that emulators can support multiple pads
Jack Flores
Shame
the 720p/1080i restriction never made sense to me
Cameron Bailey
Is it worth it to solely play muramasa? How does it look on a big screen? Do i need to buy a ps4 controller or can i use a wiiu pro one (with hackz' n shiet)? Also i guess the 1gb of internal memory is not enough for the game+save file right? Why does vita memory cost so fucking much?
inb4 emulate the wii version
i wanna play all the dlcs
Lincoln Gomez
what exactly can you do with this? i mean like, what can you expect to be able to hack it to do if you just pick one up at the store? is possible to get one with firmware too recent to be able to do anything good? this is the first time ive even heard of what these are
Mason Bailey
yes Not brilliant but pretty good nope, ps3/ps3 is your only choice The base game and the DLC fits on the internal memory Because Sony can
Asher Howard
This is what happens when you take a Vita and turn it into a home console
If you wanted to play Vita games but didn't want to spend as much money, this is for you
You can pirate some Vita games. Not all of them yet, the dumper is kind of shit.
If you buy one new, it's guaranteed to have a good firmware. Used is a mixed bag so check first.
Jayden Jones
Yeah, basically I want an all-in-one solution for pirating last gen and play song this gen. For me PSP takes priority because Vita TV is the only way to natively play PSP games on a TV with a separate controller and digital full screen AV out as opposed to the shitty component implementation of PSP 2K 3K.
Grayson Wright
Umm... Mine was 3.35, so the 3.2 for everything PSTV is deinfinitely inaccurate.
Nolan Cruz
>3.52 sounds like what you want Why? 3.18 (or even 3.36) is much better for that kind of stuff
Ayden Phillips
Is there a reason for me to get a Vita TV to hack aside from piracy? I hacked my PSP to put all my games on the memory card and I hacked my 3DS to back up my saves and make it region free but what is there for the Vita? Only thing I can think of really is something that lets me switch accounts easier but since I already have a Vita I could just use one for each account anyway most of the time.
Elijah Lee
so you can play vita games, and you can pirate some? what about psp? also, would it support pirating vita games and also being able to play real ones if it didnt have something you wanted?
Henry Martin
I see. Well you could emulate or use a PSP Go + FuSa instead, but that's up to you.
Mona doesn't sound like he cares about PS1 stuff or Rejuvenate which is all I can think of for why he'd want earlier.
Eli Jones
This new one I got is 3.35.
You have my complete attention. Why is 3.36 better? Remember, I can only update, and can't go back, so want to make it an update for a version high enough to do things but low enough to not limit me.
Why would 3.36 be ideal for me, and do you have a tutorial?
Jose Rogers
I probably wouldn't even get one for $20.
Gabriel Ross
>so you can play vita games, and you can pirate some? Yes.
>what about psp? PSP stuff only works on 3.52 or earlier, while Vita piracy is only for 3.60 exactly.
> also, would it support pirating vita games and also being able to play real ones if it didnt have something you wanted? Yes. There's a physical cartridge slot and you can also buy digital games by using a PS3 or (for now) PSN spoofing.
>PSP stuff only works on 3.52 or earlier, while Vita piracy is only for 3.60 exactly. Any ways to have both PSP and Vita piracy? My Vita is 3.52
Noah Davis
so, getting a new one from the store, i could expect to (at the minimum) be able to play vita games and then either pirate psp games or pirate some vita games? thats really tempting, thanks for the info
the memory cards though, that makes it almost like buying a console for this
Jose Garcia
Thanks for the link! Nose, this is exactly why I got a second one just in case. Can't have the cake and eat it too sadly.
Jonathan Baker
Sure, go reverse-engineer the HENkaku stage 3 payload, port it to lower FW and you're good to go.
David Gomez
Nope. Not yet, at least; it's likely to happen in the future.
You're right, memory cards are a bitch. It comes with 1GB internal which is useful if you stay strictly physical, but if you want to download or pirate anything you should get at least an 8GB and backup/restore whatever you're not playing to your PC.
Evan Cooper
Keep in mind that even though the PSP piracy is possible on lower FWs, you need a legit PSP game (not sure if it needs to be exploitable one since failmail can also write to filesystem) so unless you have either the game or a PS3 you're kinda screwed in that regard.
Angel Parker
It doesn't need to be exploitable, any PSP game and some PSP demos can be used because of failmail
Matthew Hernandez
No prob on that front, but still good to know, I just have some games on UMD which I absolutely need dumps of to be able to play on the Vita TV.
Jackson Gutierrez
>recommends trash bags for putting your new Sony TV purchase in
Christian Moore
Please respond. I'm tempted but at the same time I don't want to hack it if I'm not going to be doing anything with it.
Owen Reyes
piracy is the main thing emulators maybe?
Noah Wilson
are muramasa and dragon's crown piratable?
Jackson Brooks
muramasa I can confirm personally can be pirated, dunno about DC
Nolan Reyes
i just have no idea what i'd do with it even if i got it for free.
been streaming steam with my intel compute stick and that seems about 90000% more useful.
Dylan James
Well if I'm emulating I'd want it to be on my portable Vita (which I already updated to 3.61 without thinking). My Wii is good enough for emulating on my TV and I have my laptop for things I can't emulate on there. I guess local save backups are really the only thing. That would be useful for my Japanese account I suppose since I don't have PS+ on it. As long as I can still access the store and not get banned or anything then I'll go ahead with it cause I like having local backups.
Hunter Rivera
You can use it to install VHBL on your Vita, I guess?
That will at least let you emulate up to SNES and GBA.
Ian Smith
How long does it take it to flash for pic related?
Whats the lowest price I could pay with getting a DS3 and a memory card?
Evan Jenkins
press install and you're done
dunno, I think there's a bundle
Eli Howard
Why would you need Vita TV if it can't play half of Vita games, including some of the best ones like Tearaway?
Ethan Stewart
whitelist hack makes it play 90% of Vita games
Jacob Collins
Because you can hack it to whitelist it so you can play any game with a DS4.
Wyatt Evans
Would this be bad for rhythm games? I know you can play some of them on there but I'm worried about input lag.
Caleb Harris
You still can't because DS4 doesn't have proper touch screen, backtouch and camera.
Nathaniel Morales
The fuck is a vita TV
Hudson Murphy
I hope this is the start of a very long line of multiplayer focused games
Christian Thompson
Good deal, thanks Mona. Going to pick one up in a few. It's worth it to me just to be able to play Vita games on the big screen. Maybe I'll mess with the henkaku shit down the line
Sebastian Hughes
It's a screenless vita inside a hockey puck that you connect to your TV. last I heard, vita TV adds no inherent lag. As long as you have a fast panel, it should be a non-issue, but technically, your mileage may vary.
Asher Hill
Nobody wants one because there's NO GAMES.
Aiden Taylor
My TV doesn't seem to have any "gaming mode" or anything. Is there some way to hook it up to a CRT or something? Can't imagine that would look good but it wouldn't have lag I don't think.
Brayden Nelson
Even if that was true (truthfully for me, might as well be true), it's still a great PSP player.
