Yes. That's why I still hope that Midnight Animal will be released some day in the future.

If it would be more like part 1 and let me decide what damn masks to wear id be up for it

fans didn't get enough spotlight considering how much potential their character designs were

Considering it was hinted at in HM2, yes I definitely would.

No not really, 2 were just enough.

yeah but i wasnt really a valhalla of their sections anyway

I thought that guy had a meltdown and cancelled it

bump

this, the multiple player character angle was nice for the story being told, but the single man with a shitton of masks with specific abilities worked so much better for reputability
also LESS GLASS

>Post-apocalyptic Miami
I'm okay with this.

no, because every one is ded. And HM2 is just an endless loop where you could have stopped any time.
Also post old theories

The delay is pissing me off but the release for Midnight Animal has me a bit excited. I'm surprised there's not as much custom content out and about as there could be. Custom tools have been working extremely well for a while, especially with Cutscenes no longer destroying the level.

I just wish there was still a /hmg/ to share whatever maps I've made and talk about the game. It was too pure for this world.

Fuck I miss /hmg/ I'd say make a new thread but I don't think there'd be enough interest. Care to share some here?

bump

Sometimes i miss /hmg/ too, i liked the game some user was making

That's pretty good.

Hotline miami subleddit veteran here. I've seen shit that you people would turn you folks mad. ask me anything. I also do hotline miami sprites.

that dude's dropped at least 5 or 6 games people were looking forward to
he used to visit /agdg/
i wish him nothing but pain

Game was damned addictive. I really liked both, and liked that they had some balls to make real changes. Respect man.

I agree with this man

dropbox.com/s/dwvkcphcq2frnla/HLM2 Maps.zip?dl=0

Here's a couple of the first ones I've finished, so they might have a couple issues, specifically in Party of One.

Still, I miss /hmg/ like nothing else. All the things we could have done but never had the chance.
>remake HM1 for HM2 characters
>remake HM2 for Jacket
>storytiming pic related
>discussion of best characters, maps, and levels still had a lot of meat
>loads of fan art

I just wish it could have stayed alive long enough to happen. At the very least, I wish I could have saved that old MSpaint banner with Jacket waving his hand in front of the nuke.

Multiplayer Hotline Miami would basically be Stick Arena with a better soundtrack
It would be amazing

>Hotline Miami 3 set in an alternate dimension
>recurring themes of rewinding time or maybe not being able to change time
>time travel is involved
>game ends with a timeloop with you starting the events of the first Hotline Miami game leading up to the end of Hotline Miami 2
>bonus levels you play in Hell shooting demons
>masks make you more deprived and satanic

I know, i got surprised too when i save it a long time ago

I really like time travel games where the person travelling through time essentially makes their own downfall I'd be so down for that.

What's gonna make us mad mr. Reddit man

>>bonus levels you play in Hell shooting demons
HM is basically a top-down rip n' tear

Fuck yeah dude.

No game gives me that coke-induced, violence euphoria feeling like Hotline Miami.

Perhaps a bit more detailed graphics, some kind of new gimmick. I'd buy it.

Damn it, i had little amounts of hope that he was able to finish the game

I've seen horrendous aftermaths of redial's collapse. I've seen the active witchunting of one man for failing to create a mod and being a dick about it. I've seen the creator of Midnight Animal's mental state drift away. Its fucking horrific, man. Atleast with /hmg/ everyone was fucking chill. I've seen horrors.

>I've seen the creator of Midnight Animal's mental state drift away.
At least someone did a pun about him loosing his grip?
Yeah, /hmg/ was a nice place

>that edit

for ffucks sake

Are you gonna be the redditor everyone here thinks you are or are you gonna greentext in-depth about these "horrors"?

It was a calmer time. A better time. Back when wild hm2 speculation was out and about and everyone was having a good time.

If it felt like a sequel to HM1 instead of whatever the fuck HM2 was

fuck i miss hmg bring it back

I don't have anything further to say on the situation, Hombre. I recall being in a skype call with some friends when Redial collapsed. Everyone was screaming and shouting about the most recent development on the whole situation. When 'unknown number' I believe it was called crashed and burned because of idiocy, everyone was making fucking horrible threats at the boy. He deserved the whole thing, of course. Here's a piece of gold from the fucker's deviantart.

Nope, gave up on the second one with the poorly designed maps

the only truly bad one is fucking dead ahead
made me want to kill myself

>that third segment

Literally, and im not exaggerating, ruined the game for me, thankfully not long after it, the actually good levels hooked me again

Its probably the worst designed level ever, after that classic megaman one...

>dead ahead
rly nigga

Pardo probably had Russian Mafia ties. Think about it, he knows Petrov through completely unknown means. He shows up at the Colombian boat and kills everybody for seemingly no reason (Dec. 10th) and later goes to The Son's new HQ to collect his reward/collaborate with him. (Dec. 14th)

i got so frustrated with that third part i nearly quit the game the rest of the game beside dead ahead is great
pls no bully

>everyone complaing about dead ahead

did you all forget casualties?

Is there any other game with so much hidden lore shit?

>Main menu is Miami getting nuked, with hard mode showing the aftermath
>Hotline Miami 1 scoring theme is titled Miami, Hotline Miami 2 scoring theme is titled Dust. Miami turns to dust from being nuked
>Pardo plants the wallet from the 2nd Miami Mutilator victim at Alex's house
>The Fans killed Henchman before Moving Up and the favor Andy owes Ash is for them taking care of the Henchman, despite the level structure trying to make it seem the other way around
>The fans try to rescue a girl like Jacket in Moving Up, but she tells them to fuck off for killing her friends
>The polaroid Jacket threw away in the ending of HM1 was actually the picture of him and Beard in Hawaii
>Tony doesn't participate in beating the Henchman to death in Execution and is the only one spared by The Son.
>Both the Father and the Son die by suicide
>In Hotline 1, Clean Hit was originally Biker's mission, but he got scared because of the notoriety involved ("clerk went home with stomach problems") and began investigating 50 Blessings instead

DEEPEST

Only if they'll make a completely different game. I don't need same game third time. Especially after HM2 having shit levels.

honestly casualties isnt stuck in my head as much ill check it out again though
thats so fucking awesome

one thing i noticed is that after death wish when you can see the son dead after falling with a tarp over him, you won't know it's him at the time. since tony joked with mark about mark falling off the building, the first time i thought mark was the one that had fallen and died. pretty clever

>pic related
Is that comic decent or is it full OC donutsteel territory?

Back when HM2 first released I wrote a long theory on the "abyss" level that Denis wedin tweeted a link to.

Best day ever.

bump

give us.

So did anything ever come of the "March 10 March 16" thing in Richter's house or was that just a red herring?

hotlinebrovidya, you still here? how you doing J? it's your man Alex

show us user

>Sexualizer kicks in
>Cuban on the phone
>"You have reached the wrong number"
>SCREEEEEEE
>oh shit it's the fans
>First time you can pick the twins

This is some "tfw you'll never experience it again for the first time" shit.

Any mod to make HM2 levels not shitty?

As long as they control themselves with the niggers and windows

>it's an Evan level

>no level made of completely windows
>no blasting through them with mp5s

> it's a 100% completely comfy and moderately active Hotline Miami thread
YES

I doubt it
it was clear the devs didnt want to make HM2

Post people who did absolutely nothing wrong

except that they started working on hm2 immediately after hm1

can I get a citation on that

well they published photo with wedin grinning at HM2 splash screen few months after HM1 came out

The devs did say that HM2 was the last one though.

If fact if I remember correctly they said they were making a editor so people can make thier own sequel because they were not planning on doing one.

gamereactor.eu/news/242004/Dennaton teases life after Hotline its different but youll know its us/

>Richard's theme is a distorted version of Jacket's apartment

hlm2 takes places in the 90s

Well shit I'm a faggot

that's alright

How do you guys feel about the Hotline Miami Payday 2 heist?

Overkill, fuck off.

it's a decent pd2 level with almost no connection to HLM itself. IDK how to feel about it. PD2 slowly became a shit meme game over the years because of DLC cancer

Hotline Miami is the epitome of pretentious indie trash

>HURR DURR LOOK AT ME IM BEING INTENTIONALLY CONFUSING, ARENT I SO DEEP

HM isn't very confusing, maybe you're just stupid.

underage

>asking about 3 when the level editor still isn't out
kill yourself Cactus

" So, I have a weird theory about Abyss that will probably be instantly disproved, but hey, that's the fun of theories, eh? So In HM1 we have two branching timelines: Jacket wins the battle at Phonehom, and Biker wins the battle at Phonehom. So indulge me for a sec, HM2 follows Jackets story right?, in HM1 we saw Jake's body in hot&heavy, which takes place long after neighbours, right? What if Biker's timeline is the one where Jake collects the floppy disk for Evan to find, and then dies in the 50B HQ as opposed to the spa in Hot&Heavy? In Abyss, why is 50B HQ in disrepair?, after all it was supposed to function as a bomb shelter, right? So why has 50B abandoned their sole method of surviving the nuclear blasts. Because 50B are no more. The Janitors are dead. Biker killed them. All the various animal masked assassins have stopped getting phone calls and now feel lost, they seek each other out and locate the HQ and start living there as a way of re-initiating the Miami killing sprees. Abyss takes place in Biker's timeline. It is it's own level that basically serves as a sequel to Biker's story, it's the last mission in the "continue game" level select, just like Biker's were. This theory also explains why there is a guy wearing Jacket's Richard mask, Jacket is dead, he died in Phonehom, and somebody took the mask off his body just like HM2 Tony did with HM1 Tony. Thoughts?"

It's pretty good and challenging without feeling TOO cheap

The snipers on Day 1 can go suck a dick tho

If it was good like the first game.

It's out, actually, no?

Where have you been for the last few months
It is, and out of beta. He's just a dork

Are you sir implying 2 isn't good?

>tfw you still have all the files from redial
if you're here graw just want to let you know you're a fucking idiot

I stopped caring about the game when a promised launch feature took 15 months to release, forgive my ignorance

I was born with thick skin

best girl

>enemies see you from across the realm
>windows everywhere
>melee is fucking useless
>enemies no longer have the slight delay before aggroing to you making the game a baitfest chore

Hotline Miami 2 was awful aside from the visuals and soundtrack.

>The henchman just wanted to go home
I honestly felt a chill down my spine at that scene
Fucking bitch got him killed

>hm1 didn't have baiting
Just because the game had smaller levels you didn't notice.
>muh melee
git gud

The game is never bad, it's more shooting based, but that's not objetively wrong, kill yourself.

...

Oh look, a Hotline Miami 1 toddler who wishes the second was an easy snoozefest.

Here's some advice: Git gud
It was at that moment I realized absolutely no one in Hotline Miami was a hero

>taking away half of the game in order to make it "more skillful" is good
wew

HM1 had baiting. But because it also had a very noticeable delay before the enemies noticed you, you could also play the game like an absolute fucking maniac and run and bash or gun your way through.

Hotline Miami 2's gameplay is literally just baiting and guns which isn't enjoyable in the fucking slightest.
