MS make the best controllers, that swayed my decision.

MS is trying really hard to unify their Xbox and Windows 10 platform so if you're willing in any way to switch to Windows 10 there's almost no reason at all to get an Xbox One. And I'll be honest in that I've never really been impressed with Xbox One's lineup of titles anyway, so even if you don't have a W10 PC you aren't missing out on much.

So really it's between Sony's offering and Nintendo's offerings, if you're being realistic.

I own the PS4 and a regular fat Xbone, I like the Xbone but I'd never recommend it over a PS4. The exclusive library is much weaker even when you include Windows 10 exclusives, and it plays most multiplatform games worse.

The UI is also significantly worse in my opinion (although it has gotten a lot better since I've owned the Bone) but the PS4's advantage is still significant as of firmware 4.00

Like last gen the only reason to choose any console is if you like the exclusives. And in terms of exclusives Sony and Nintendo are the only companies that are legitimately competitive unless you're a dipshit and still really like Halo for some reason.

PS4 easily. But if you can afford it, get a good PC instead. Trust me you won't regret it.

Neither. Both systems lack in a lot of regards and you'd find that your PS3 has more features built in than either of these consoles currently have.

Speaking out of personal experience. Although both have greatly improved in the last 3 years they still feel like "beta" consoles for the next NEO/Scorpio roundup.

PS4 has bloodborne, gravity rush 2, and persona 5 though. The thing is there isnt any decent local mp games for it at the moment unless youre into niche anime fighters

I was going around town today and found several PS3 at like $100 in a pawn shop. What should I check to make sure I'm not buying a fucked up system?

See if it turns on for one. Make sure the internal HDD isn't damaged, although since this is a pawn shop I'm not sure how much they'd let you test it.

100$ is really nothing, though. Scour ebay for a few hours and you could snag a good PS3 for 80$

Buy one from a reputable seller on ebay. Pawn shops don't check shit.

Buy a 3.55 OFW PS3 and you can; they aren't too much more expensive. Finding ISO rips are hard though

Not as much as you think. If you're looking for a moddable system you better do your research. My super slim still won't do, for example.

Do yourself a favour and get analogue stick cover grips. The standard sticks are shit, slippery and ware down very quickly. Controller is shit tbhpahm but anything would be an improvement over the ps3.
