It's fun, depending on how deep you want to go into it.

On surface level it's a decent hord/objective-mode game with really nice environments.

On deeper levels you see and derive from it what you want to.

It is quite literally a meme game.

Really good.

I did 3 playthroughs.

First time I played it as a stealth shooter, using silenced sniper rifles from a distance and using a little cloaking to point-blank execute tougher enemies with the heavy pistol

Second time I played full weeb - I used tons of abilities and augs and just killed everything either with my katana or for heavier things like helicopters I had a massive but slow warhammer to swing

Third time I just went pure 'spellcaster', using the augs to clone myself, mind control enemies and puppet them, hack turrets, basically do everything to avoid actually being in the fight in-person

This game is nothing like deus ex.

I was at first amazed at how good the gunplay felt
Then I was amazed at how peculiar the writing style and aesthetic choices were
Then I was disappointed in lazy shit like infinite enemy spawning
Then I was disappointed in the terrible balance when I got to mars and realized the only way past the gunship was to use the bear killer, a weapon i had been avoiding because of how using it felt like cheating
Then I was kinda happy at the end that I got it for 2 bucks

The E.Y.E fanbase is amazing and is one of the few fanbases who manages to keep post and meme quality consistently.
Maybe it's due to the complexity of the game that keeps normies away and allow the fanbase to communicate exclusively through E.Y.E memes.

The game takes place in a weird future far away. Everything else makes so little sense that the strange way they talk fits better in my opinion. The actual language has evolved to something unintelligible (probably because everyone just uses cyber-translators) -and even the translation for the player's benefit is a bit funky. I think it's appropriate and doesn't need fixing.

If, like me, it'd be impossible to figure out otherwise. My first playthrough I had it installed just so I knew what was going on, but on subsequent runs I had no translation mods installed. The shitty translation is part of the charm certainly and I think the game is better for it but it's entirely possible people might need it

My idea of a sequel would revolve around "souls" in meta-streumonic hybrid cyberspace, and the corruption of those souls by the forces we don't yet understand. Human bodies would be obsolete and secondary, and physical conflicts in the real world would be largely inconsequential because of the irrelevance of physical bodies. When you die, you fight over a living body in cyberspace. But you need to be careful because if you're destroyed in cyberspace, you're gone forever. Or are you? How do you know that some version of you isn't still existing in a physical body that isn't connected to the grid?
