Why sell 1 game to 4 people when you can sell 4?

Because it hardly works most of the time. Go back to some older games, splitscreen halves the frame rate, sometimes even brings it to 15-20.

FPBP

We didn't care about frame rate back then

This.

Capitalism wins again.

I personally think consoles are best when you're drinking and playing co op games where you can both just fuck around or really get into it. FIFA, CoD, UFC, Army of Two or anything like that is great for this.

I wish we could go back

The fuck are you talking about? Gears 4 is out next month with full splitscreen couch co-op support. Gonna run through the campaign on insane with muh bro.

We can never go back.

Season passes, DLC, Deluxe Editions, HD remakes of games we've already played to death, 60 FPS this, 720p-1080p that...

>screen peakers

Framerate was always important to people. It's just because of console war autists that people are tired of hearing about it.

It's the same TV. Eventually my eyes are gonna drift, bro.

>9-player splitscreen

Thankfully I own a projector

>he still lives near his friends

What are you a redneck or is everyone a wageslave

> tfw the most fun time I had with halo was playing local MP
> tfw haven“t played split screen in years now

did halo ever have 4 player campaign co-op? Local splitscreen?

>pic from reach and not the more co op fun 3

Yes.

You could fuck with lobby settings to play Reach 4 player coop. I'm not sure if we used two consoles for that or not, can't remember exactly.

We had a blast, it only fucked with some vehicle sections, but never to the point where it would crash. All the campaign maps have loading spots for 4 players even.

There was always that one friend who would "screen cheat." Funny thing is, some devs made a game based around it.

Reach also has a terrible loading distance when you play with four players on one console. Scoped snipers can shoot you without you being able to see their character.

this

>TFW you will never couch co op Timesplitters 1-3 with your best friend again

>tfw no more Infection mode on Training Grounds where the survivors camp the ledge by the waterfall and make a break for weapons

Reach had 4 player split-screen? I never remember that being the case.

In fact, I remember having to network two 360s together just to play 3-player Firefight.

Used to play the shit out of these with my friend one weekend in every summer at his family's cabin.

Haven't seen him in years, but the last time I was paying a visit at my parents I booted up my PS2 there just to find out the memory card still had our save files there.

Firefight and campaign were only two player splitscreen in Halo 3, ODST and Reach. Pretty CE and 2 has the same.

Firefight, campaing and online play were 2 player one console only.

Offline Deathmatch were 4 players per console.

I remember that Halo 3 had legitimate, 4 player split-screen co-op for its campaign until the feature got patched out in an update.

Tried it during a LAN party after the update once and we all got so pissed when we found out.

THIS SO DAMN MUCH.

>"How the fuck did you see me and snipe me across the map?"
>"you shot me retard"
>"tell me how when i was wielding a sword you stupid faggot"

But still, i miss the old days of playing Halo splitscreen with my friends and family on the same house...

Good multiplayer never dies. It's just missing in action.

It was literally the only reason I didn't bother with Halo 5. No matter how good/bad it was

I legit have never seen somebody mention this game on Sup Forums but it's basically 3D castle crashers and as such pretty good with three friends.

>tfw I actually had a good time skating in pools blood
