Does this get any better when I finish my placement matches? I was told there would be significantly less reapers and so far I'm disappointed.
also playing on xboner if that makes any difference in match quality
Camden Collins
Nope
Luke Johnson
You'll be stuck going down in rank forever despite getting 4 gold medals because you'll be forever paired with tanks who think they're DPS, people who don't go after the healer first and healers who do nothing but buff damage.
Brayden Turner
It kind of depends on where you end up being placed. I was upper Platinum and just hit Diamond the other day and I usually play against and with some pretty good people.
Brody Gomez
Reaper's are in all tiers.
I got to plat using him when my team couldn't handle tanks
Andrew Gray
>reaper is a sign that it's a bad player are you dumb? reaper is an anti-tank, bud.
Hunter Phillips
>place 2913 >feel great at this level, people care about winning, doing well >AFK and trolls lose my way to 2600 >well this is fine, I'll win my way up >trying to climb but my wins are only giving me +20 this is fucking suffering, I HATE that the game punishes for other people leaving
Josiah Wright
>calibrated 2833 >fell down to 2350 for the same reason (plus me getting tilted and insisting on playing leading to 13 defeats in a row)
Ryan Turner
>trying to climb but my wins are only giving me +20
fucking this, they should have fixed that shit by the last patch
trying to climb at least one tier implies you Will be playing a fucking lot because of the ridiculously low amount of competitive points they give you
Blizzard you know that...people have to study, work and have a life too, right?
Isaac Walker
>trying to climb but my wins are only giving me +20 user... how much you get on wins or lose on defeats is based on personal stats for the match for the class you're playing as... source: got 62 eliminations today and got +73 rank
Nicholas Ward
Just admit you guys were placed too high and now matchmaking is balancing you out.
Chase Stewart
>user... how much you get on wins or lose on defeats is based on personal stats for the match for the class you're playing as... >source: got 62 eliminations today and got +73 rank Fuck, really?
Josiah Harris
Why I don't even bother anymore.
>win 2 games >lose 1 >still behind
???
Nathaniel James
yeah dog, calibration is too. just focus on blocking damage as tanks, dealing it as attack, objective time + kills as defense and healing as healers. you'll get tons more rank/tons less on loss
Austin Hill
guys how do you rank up in solo queue
I've been stuck in 2400 for years and I keep going between 1 win 1 loss 1 win 1 loss 1 win 1 loss
I play whatever role is needed and I consistently get gold/silver metals
every loss feels like it's because at least one person on my team is fucking up
example:
last loss was because the dps players on my team kept dying on the 2nd push after both my team and the enemy team pushed it to 3 points once
I just what platinum/diamond man
Asher Wilson
this actually lost 5 rank on a defeat today. feels good af
Adrian Anderson
Yeah. This is how I got to Gold in placement with only five wins.
>It's also how I lost 100 ranks and got stuck in shitter hell by getting disconnected. Fuck.
Levi Thompson
Reaper is the go-to tank buster so you'll always see him. If you don't like Reaper then play a good counter.
Jaxson Garcia
Nah senpai, I refuse to believe I'm that low when I was doing great at higher tier games.
Holy fuck this brings a new light to my eyes
Adrian Watson
Well, this is obvious, but if you aren't significantly better than the other players at your skill level, you belong at that skill level. You can't just do fine, you have to actively do well. That means winning games FOR a team that would otherwise lose. You do that one in ten times and you will win 6 out of ten games. EVENTUALLY you will climb. If you want to climb faster, you got to carry harder.
Evan Gray
expect ~50 points lost in losses and 30~ points in winning.
t. Was barely platinum and lost two matches in a row so now I'm a 2400 shitter
Also, reapers are the main tank buster. Absolutely expect one if the opposing team thinks your tanks are doing the heavy lifing
Zachary Long
I just got ~170 rank on a 0/0 tie.
Probably because I got a 'career best' for my first time as a healer in comp, because I only healed like 1000 damage, hueh.
Jace Barnes
I guess you're right.
What category would you say is the best for carrying in? I know supports can't do anything without useful teammates, so would it be tank or dps?
Jose Taylor
ITT everybody tries to hard carry the team on both sides.
>Watch my brother's game: Everybody fighting to the death for every bit of rank point in gold >Meanwhile chumps like me get placed in high plat and got carried into diamond like the "born to rule" player I was meant to be
Christopher Cook
I dunno man. I had a game today that was the game of my life. Perfectly matched teams in hanamura. Ended up going 6-5 winning in my favor and only went up by 30.
It really feels unrewarding sometimes. Specially since in defense maps tanks will simply not get decent objective times since the best places for a tank are in the chokepoint that comes before the point
Colton Reed
>have skilled friends >play Rein >my job is to >be a wall where they tell me to be a wall >move aforementioned wall when they tell me to >flame strike and pretend to be menacing when they want me to >call out if my shield is breaking or I am being hit >use my ult when they tell me
Got into diamond this way. Those sweet delicious points for simply holding up a shield and pressing WASD keys
Mason Barnes
tfw play exclusively healer for comp, getting 10k healing LITERALLY every game. tfw getting matched with tanks that go and try to flank by themselves and DPS trying to tank damage I was a 2600 god, now I'm a fucking 2400 scrub
