ME2 had much better gameplay than ME1. In fact, in general it was also a much better game, though ME1 edged it out on the story.

EA is the dick. Bioware is the company that got fucked in the ass. They haven't been the same after a few years of getting raped repeatedly.

They will never make a good game again. We're lucky we even got Dragon Age Origin mostly untarnished with the EA taint after 6 years in dev. That would NEVER be allowed for new projects under EA.

The gameplay we got today from Andromeda already proved that the animations are as shitty as the ones in Inquisition, the characters look as horrible as they do in Inquisition, and the gameplay shows that the player discovers a map of objective locations to go, which probably means that ubisoft open world checklists like the ones on Inquisition are back too. There is literally no hope

Well it does have planetary exploration and the Mako is back, seems more like ME1.

Most people have chosen to hate it though and the rest are avid fans of ME2 who will end up hating it because it might be an actual RPG again.

How does Bioware's animation actually get worse over time? It still feels as if the character is just floating and there's not any weight to anything they do.

Asari relationships are literally emotion driven. They don't feed off of sexual impulses. They technically reproduce sexually (Asari combines her genes with her partner's just through skin contact in a process called "melding", which also temporarily connects their nervous systems together). During the melding process, the Asari and her partner feel, think, and share memories as one without barrier, which also makes it ideal time for sex (since melding pushes the mutual vulnerability and pleasures of sex to a new extreme)

Judging from the showcase footage, it's going to be more like No Man's Sky than Mass Effect one. Scanning local life, crafting etc... Seriously, if this wasn't Bioware that can't do good atmosphere and writing to save their life (remember when it used to be the other way around?) I would be pretty looking forward to this, because the No Man Sky idea of exploring new planets still could make for a fantasy sci-fi game.

It may not be relying on proceduraly generated content, but the scanning, jet-pack, the marketing hook being quite literally "explore the new galaxy", I'm pretty fucking sure this is the direction the series is taking.

The thing is that Bioware games never had amazing graphics, they were always kind of average, I don't understand why people are surprised by this all of a sudden?

Why are Bioware so bad at animations (always) and character design (not quite as long)?

How hard is it to hire proper animators and concept artists? How hard is it to hire someone that can create a proper mesh or someone that knows how to create a good texture?
