you mean impossi-bull?
>tarunda
Very few bosses in newer SMTs are 'impossible' you just need to learn the systems. Buffs and debuffs become increasingly more powerful as the games come out.
...
It's literally just RNG friendo
You just have to get that one lucky run where he doesn't fuck you up.
the only rng is resetting until you don't get walter
So this is a daily bait now?
this.
>finally doing well
>he fucking casts agi
every time
>Not having Bufu +8 before facing him
I personally feel Medusa is harder though
What a cool design
...
...
>mfw
I actually had more trouble with Minotaur than Medusa because he kept fucking casting Critical Wave and getting smirks.
Having 2 or more demons with Bufu really helps, especially if you get Jonathan with another Bufu
Didn't invis + death work on him?
>Get through the bullshit stage that is Sky Canyon
>This fucking hand appears
>put on Havel armor, med roll
>dex/int build
>crystal magic weapon
>just hug him and beat him into a pulp within 15 seconds.
>first try
Hell even pewdiepie beat him in his second try.
>the color shield boss in Ys Oath of Felghana
>i am slight colorblind
Hoy.
He's strongly luck-based.
Don't get Walter, he will cause Minotaur to randomly wipe.
You can appreciably increase your chances by fusing Fortuna. I know of no other way to reliably get Sukukaja that early in the game.
check the picture again
I'm sure nobody here will recognize who this is, but memories of fighting him still haunt me.
It's possible, just use bufu and hope nothing makes him smirk.
Or crits. If he smirks it's over.
>I'm fucking invincible!
What were they thinking?
You all lose
I really hate smirking
It is an asinine mechanic.
Getting advantages/disadvantages in the Press Turn system because you did well/fucked up was already present by getting/losing additional turns.
I have no idea why they decided to increase this by a factor of 10.
Never played Nocturne.
How are you supposed to beat this?
AFAIK, he's literally the only enemy in the game allowed to do that, it's bizarre.
At this point I already just about had my final team. In the SMT games with the Press Turn system, making your opponents miss attacks (for instance, by buffing the agility on your team) makes them lose turns. If you do that, it's crazy how easy a lot of encounters can be.
>literally impossible
Stop posting, Walter.
He's playing on hard mode, where the boss has a higher chance of abusing Beast Eye and deals more damage.
He's also doing a low level challenge run. His demons are around level 15 or so IIRC but that's an endgame dungeon where you'd normally be 40-50.
It's an awful mechanic.
Is it still in Apocalypse? I really hope not.
I know how Press Turns work. But if Mot gets the first move, aren't you just kinda fucked?
YEEOOOOOOOW
...
Gets first move AND starts spamming Beast Eye?
Yeah, that'll finish you.
It's so dumb I wouldn't even be mad.
fucking impossible on hard
That makes more sense.
What doesn't make sense is doing that in the first place. Seems the game was designed to defeat low-level runs like that as quickly as possible if Beast Eye abuse is allowed by the AI. So why fucking bother?
IT'S NO USE!
>finally get Red Rider to appear
>he gets the first turn
>War Cry, War Cry, War Cry, Antichthon
This is just bullshit, man.
>missing the joke
What do you guys see in SMT that I'm not? I'm an FEfag, and I decided to try it because of the crossover game, I actually thought #FE wasn't that bad. Wasn't great, but wasn't bad. Picked up Devil Survivor 2 on 3DS a few weeks ago, and I was just like "This is so fucking boring. I'd much rather be playing FE."
To be fair I think Mot is the only boss that gave that guy so much difficulty to begin with. Nocturne is so cheesable with buffs that a low level run really is hardly inconceivable.
>#FE wasn't that bad
you might need to get your eyes checked
I spent hours just to fuse a Jack Frost to deal with the thing
Play a mainline entry instead of a spinoff.
Haha
>played Devil Survivor 2
>before playing the original
>before playing a mainline entry or Strange Journey
It's not our fault you're missing brain cells.
he game over me about 25, before i could kill him
also checked
It wasn't. It wasn't an amazing experience, and it pandered a lot to the Awakening crowd, but I had fun with it.
I'll pass. When an SRPG makes me want to drop it only 20 minutes in, something is wrong. SRPGs are my favorite genre, FE is my favorite game series, and I've enjoyed so many other great SRPGs because of FE.
Actually this is kind of a good troll boss. The game punishes you for running right up to the rings in front of you like you'd normally do, only to get no use'd and possibly killed in one hit. If you run to the right, you'll find off-camera that there's a item box with rings in it, putting enough distance between you and Silver that he'll likely pick up the nearby tables and chairs, leaving him open for an attack and thus revealing his pattern.
The only SMT anything that's 100% luck based even if you know what you're doing.
Still beat him, the ring fucking sucks and isn't worth the hours spent fighting him
I'm not the only one! Fuck, once I got Jack Frost, Minotaur was a cakewalk. Until Walter cast Agi
My friend who's really into the series told me to start with DeSu2.
I've only played SMTIV but things I found appealing:
>focus on gameplay rather than exposition
>when there is story, it's fairly interesting
>demon fusion is fun
>lots of strategy
>decently difficult
you're friend is retarded and you're annoyingly good at trolling this thread
You forgot the two best bits.
>Godlike soundtrack
>Visually interesting setting
>You're friend
...
Should I get SMT4 now or wait for Apocalypse?
What did they change in Apocalypse?
Even ignoring the fact that I was bored of Devil Survivor 2 within like, 20 minutes, I read some story of Shin Megami Tensei IV I think it was. From what I read, it seemed like a fucking angsty 14 year old wrote it while listening to a Linkin Park album
>AND THEN, WALTER FUSES WITH SATAN, AND YOU HAVE TO KILL HIM, AND THEN YOU KILL GOD
That's what it seemed like.
Apocalypse is a sequel that retcons the last part of one of the routes of IV. It's not a rerelease.
Oh, I had no idea. Should I play IV first or is it safe to just play Apocalypse?
Someone said they changed how it works to make it less bullshit, but I don't actually know enough about it.
It's better to play IV first, certainly.
I'll get on that after I finish EOU2.
Anyone played Persona Q? Is it good besides the fan service?
Which route is it continuing off of?
now's a good time for a replay and I can't even remember which route I finished
For the fiends I switched it to easy. Not because I couldn't handle changing tactics and shit, but I didn't want to risk me losing them and having to do the hockey pokey to get them to spawn again. Fucking Pale Rider took me three weeks for him to spawn.
Well the main games are not SRPGs lmao
You shitposted this last thread. Fuck off. SMT is about angels and demons vying for control of the world, satan isn't necessarily a bad guy he's just trying to create a darwinian society and the game is post apocalyptic. Fuck off
IIRC it interrupts the neutral route.
Neutral
Get a guide
Yeah, it's pretty good.
AFAIK everything is the same up until you go through the portal at Ichigawa. It gets weird from there though and not much is the same.
I know that, but I like plenty of non SRPGs, my second favorite franchise is Final Fantasy, and that franchise only has a few SRPGs under it's belt
You can actually die and get Charon to revive you and still get the 100% chance to spawn fiends. As long as you don't go to another area, that is.
I had a harder time on the first encounter than minoutaur, after you learn the mechanics of the game is really easy.
>oh she is crying, did I beat her?
thanks
you just need to git gud & have decent rng. if he doesnt jump around too much in second phase it's no problemo
Check if she's holding the bat or not.
Speaking of bats, I can't believe anyone ever beat the sequel's final boss in Death Match mode. It took me about 10 hours to beat him on Bitter, and the Boss Select is even harder, and there's no checkpoints.
Also, I'm playing Shadows of the Damned, what a fucking disappointment. You get the bosses' backstories but they act like mindless demons. Not to mention how short-lived all the challenging segments are. It's like if RE4 was actually less engaging. grumble grumble
Literally just use Bufu.
You that guy from yesterday asking for advice on SMT4?
Meanwhile look at this S.O.B.
m.youtube.com
If SMT4 is your first SMT, then I can understand how you could get stuck. If not, you might be retarded. Minotaur is a tutorial boss. It teaches you about smirk and elemental advantages. As long as he doesn't crit you, Walter isn't a retard and you have a demon with Bufu, you wont have much of a problem. You may die a few times because of bad rng (smirk), but it shouldn't be a roadblock if you understand how press turn works.
Medusa is harder, but not by much. If you want a difficult SMT game, play Strange Journey or Nocturne. SMT4 is a pretty easy game, provided you ignore fiends and aren't fucked over by rng.
I read in a few places that some people did that and they had to get the fiends to respawn. They probably were bullshitting, but after dying to Red Rider like how the guy I was replying to did, I decided "No fucking way am I going to gamble on this." and made the switch.
I could handle if each one spammed antichthon over and over, it's just that spawn rate.
They all have the same shitty spawn rate, butt they all fight very differently, Red is probably the hardest of them.
Those guys probably went to another area or something, because when I went fiend hunting that's the only surefire way to repeat the battle without searching for them for another 5 more hours. Just save before fighting them again, that way you don't have to pay Charon again.
This fucker unless you cheese it with that item combo that makes him a cakewalk
ITT: OPs that are literally impossibly bad at videogames
Forgot muh picture
...
Adding to what they said, you get extra shit in apocalypse based on how many paths you beat and which ones.
as my first SMT this guy was really tough
until I figured out that you aren't supposed to kill the minions, anyways
