Who was the better protagonist?
Who was more capable?
Who was cooler?

They're good for different reasons.
Solid is a much more simple character, but that's also his strength. As Big Boss says at the end of MGS4 "It's not about saving the world, it's about not fucking it up even more."
Big Boss was a man of greater ambition, but that also means he was a greater victim to corruption.
What was Big Boss trying to do really? I'm confused by his motives and even more confused after V.
Solid seemed to just do what he was told.
big boss is heisenberg
solid snake is snake plissken

Raiden was definitely likable for his naivety. He so wanted to be a good guy, but he's just a horrible murderer that is pointed in a more agreeable direction.
Big Boss was, misguidedly, trying to establish a nation/safe space for soldiers like himself who could be apart of something greater without being used as a pawn the way he was. He thought he was fulfilling The Boss' last wishes, but she seemed to be more leaning towards world peace/what BB says at the end of MGS4.
In the end, Big Boss ended up using soldiers as pawns just the way he detested being used himself. I think Solid is a better protagonist, as despite being a clone he still becomes his own man with his own convictions and that's an impressive quality. However, there is a certain mystique or charisma to Big Boss that makes me think he's cooler. Solid is obviously more capable, and arguably the better protagonist.
Well the one on the right is an amalgamation of two different characters for the purposes of being in a fucking Nintendo game, one of which being the character on the left, so the premise of your question is fucked.

Naked/Big boss was the best with weapon knowdlegde (altough Solid may also know as much as he did for his time), being autistic and fucking everything up.
Raiden was the best story wise.
>Solid seemed to just do what he was told.
You only played MGS1?
He is figthing Metal Gears in MGS2 because he wants to, with his bf Otacon.
He is trying to fight the patriots in MGS4 because he wants to, with his bf Otacon and his daughterfu.
>that pic
>Solids body and Nakeds face on the right
>One killed his momwife and then developed a compulsion to build clubhouses forever.
>The other worked his entire adult life to save the world, even going out on his own to destroy metal gears as a free agent.
Big Boss was a big wimpy crybaby. Solid Snake is a renegade ass-kicker.
Solid on all counts.
Phantom Pain's ending made BB look like a huge bitch.
Why do you think Raiden was the best storywise? Not fighting against you, I just want to hear your thoughts expanded upon.
So basically Big Boss wanted to be free from being used, and wanted to only help out as mercenaries for causes he believed in, and Snake set out to try to stop those he thought were evil or misguided.
How so?
Here you go op now it's the actual characters
It's not just a two man race.
Solid actually developed as a person while BB did the same shit over and over until he finally admitted he was a fuckup on his deathbead.
You do the math.
Was that game any good?
So bad it was glorious
>So basically Big Boss wanted to be free from being used, and wanted to only help out as mercenaries for causes he believed in
Yeah, I think so. Or at least have the power as soldiers to dictate which causes they deem worthy of their efforts/talents.
Snake set out to try to stop those who were powerhungry and keen on domineering/sacrificing anything in their path for control.
They made a second one
Is this a re name of the first game or a sequel
