On a scale from Risen 2 to Gothic 2, how fucking hyped are you?

looks fucking stupid
i would say about a Gothic 4.
Going to get it on PS4.
>same combat system as risen 2 and 3
dropped
risen 1 was perfect
2 and 3 destroyed everything
dropped
>risen 1 was perfect
>literally runs out of content in Ch. 2
>perfect
ArcaniA, that's how hyped I am because it looks worse than Risen 2 will probably be even worse than ArcaniA.
He was obviously talking about its combat system which I agree with, it made absolutely no sense to completely scrap combat mechanics that are simplistic and engaging yet not too casual. I also agree that it starts diving into shit after the second chapter, however it's so much better than than whatever came out after it I doubt it's the same people that made R1 were working on it
Not really hyped, but I have a feeling that I'm going to enjoy it a lot despite all the shit I don't like about it at the moment.
The setting is not one them. I'm one of the few who actually love this science fantasy crap.
They said they once again have a completely new combat system though. And that's not too hard to believe knowing their track record of almost completely scrapping whatever combat system they had with nearly every new game.
I was already put-off by the retarded setting, and then I saw the gameplay videos.
Risen 2/3 tier trash incoming.

Looks like a mixture of Gothic 3 and Bethesda's Shit Fallout games.
I dont care about games where there is no character creation. I got tired of playing gruff, bald space marine rejects back in 2007
Does it fall to the "open worlds need to be giant and empty" meme all AAA games are following these days or is it still a small, handcrafted world?
Seriously, they should just stop making vidya, it's painfully obvious they don't have the technical skill to make modern games. If I didn't know any better, the footage would make me believe it's some 3$ shit shovelware from steam made in unity.
"From the makers of Gothic". Gothic is not comming back, these guys are not capable of delivering, have not been for years.
This, it looks like a fucking free to play game. PB is just laughably pathetic at this point.
>same combat system as risen 2 and 3
Elaborate.
>They said they once again have a completely new combat system though.
watch gameplay videos
its ltierally the same crap just like risen 2 and 3
if it only was like gothic 4 id be ok with it
but noo
>muh environment IN 2016
>hype
el ol el
bet they vote for the green party too, fucking hippies.
this also that shitty inventory which is its own screen
breaks immersion
Not that guy but
>extremely clunky looking fable-esque button mashing with a lot of stupid interruptions and choppy animations
It might not be the exact same combat system from risen 2 and 3, but it sure looks similar, even the enemies remind me of those from Risen 2
I'm asking because I haven't played R2/3, so I don't know shit about their combat system. Clunkiness and choppy animations is nothing new, but the interruptions remind me more of Gothic 3 than anything. Except with rolls.
i tried to get into gothic because Sup Forums says it's the next coming of christ and a classic you need to play.. turns out it's shit. yes, maybe you had fun 2001 when it came out and your demands to what makes a game great wasn't developed yet or something but it didn't age well at all and is boring to play. then i remembered it was made by germans who make bullshit like work simulator and farm simulator. germans can't into games and after finally trying out gothic i can state this as a fact, not opinion
>risen 2 and 3 combat
Have you played fable 2 or 3? Just imagine if an extremely amateur studio with very little programming skills and experience on an extremely limited budget tried to replicate it.
The parallels between these two games are sometimes really on point
>first game
>more focus on a single enemy rather than of bunch of them
>accessible and simplistic yet doesn't become too boring
>second and third ones
>focus shifts towards multiple enemies which moves the camera far above
>the combat basically become mindless button mashing
>basically tells their original fans to fuck off while simultaniously failing to attract new ones
There are even fucking muskets in both games
This.
That's it folks, Risen 1 made me falsely believe once more, but its time to give it up.
They consistently dont get the memo, and this game outright looks like garbage
Save yourselves, stop hoping, remember gothic 1&2 and maybe risen, but forget the devs.
It pains me so much to see this.
>351148625
Bet you wish this was a (You), huh?
>351148625
>fact, not opinion
But it's just you who says it, how's it a fact and not an opinion of a single individual?
You are the reason new games are shit, hope you choke on Todd Howard's dick.
Literally who are you quoting?
Try harder, I played Gothic 1 and 2 for the first time 2 years ago and they remain a treasured memory.
How do they even stay in business
looks like actual, literal garbage
you are the one who continue the sorry existence of yuropoor vaporware. that's why no publisher worth their salt invest seriously in a yuropeen studio. KYS.
I haven't touched their games since Gothic 3 also i never said only europeans made good games.
Go back to playing Fallout 4.
germany is a welfare state.
Thanks for the summary, user.
Nope, only played the first Fable, I started to have a bad feeling about 2 as more and more information was revealed, and completely forgot about the series after that.
But I think I understand what you mean, even if I'm not sure I agree based on the videos.
The camera was often kept far above, but the same thing was possible in Gothic as well. Hell, I remember fighting molerats with camera like this, feeling almost like I was playing an isometric game, because the dense foliage made it impossible to see in any other camera position in certain areas.
As for fighting larger number of enemies, in these videos they came in groups of 1-5 (I think 5 was the largest group I can remember), which is again nothing unusual. You'd find goblin groups bigger than this right next to Khorinis, or wolf packs around Old Camp.
Button mashing is an interesting question, but that is one thing that I think we can't say for sure until AI and animations are implemented. And from what they said the missing elements are quite significant, for example I'm sure that once they implement the forest troll throwing rocks at you that will affect the flow of combat.
Risen 2.
The game will be same shit as Risen 2 & 3, the old PB is dead.
Oh shit they're under some culture funding scheme aren't they? Didn't they learn anything from Uwe Boll?
Not at all if they continue to push their awful fucking gunplay and the floaty melee combat Risen 2 and 3 had. Come on PB you used to be good at this.
>risen 3 combat
its OVER
