half life 2 is like the worst one objectively.
Portal 2 is probably the best.
Dark Messiah
Dota 2
>half life 2 is like the worst one objectively.
it's just a shooter with physics and some good linear level design.
Maybe the worst would actually be l4d1 but that's only because the lack of polish.
The one with the spoopy house and zombies and long as ass
Underhell
There are more Source games then Valve made games like Postal 3
>implying portal isn't linear as hell
EMPIRES MOD
The original Age of Chivalry.
store.steampowered.com
The new standalone game is too casual.
Titanfall?
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
Titanfall
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines
Pretty much any game made by a company other than Valve.
Several sourcemods are also great.
Boku no Pico.
Dark Messiah
VtM:B
PVK II
puzzle games are allowed to be linear, user
>FPS can't be linear
AHAHAHAHHA, THAT A FUCKING JOKE THIS GUY
this is a pretty weird contender
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
Makes great use of the physics and is just a gem of a game overall.
Shit thread OP.
Real question.
What is the best Source Mod?

when will Valve release their superior source 2 engine?
Dota 2 runs on it
SMOD
Dark Messiah
Goldsource > Source
Who remembers dystopian?
That early source mod. I might be getting the name wrong
The one with the invisible guy and your team had to hunt him
Battleground 2 (1 was better)
Pirates Vikings Knights
Day of defeat 2 but it's official so not sure if we can count it
Shit, the early source days were great. All that creativity. All free. I literally spent hundreds of hours stoned in the SDK making shit maps.
My pc died not long before tf2 and I never returned to pc gaming again
Dystopia was the name. Also the Half-Life 1 PVK mod was better. Jaykin Bacon Source was great too.
Research and Development
runner up: CSS Sci-Fi
>not sure if op means the best game gameplay-wise or just the game that handles source engine the best
please clarify.
My favorite source games are:
Insurgency
Fistful of Frags
EYE
Some runners-up are:
Dystopia
Goldeneye: Source
Neotokyo
Dota 2.
>Postal 3
actual postal 3 by rws when
>Research and Development
>that fucking vehicle
>that Strider fight
What do you think he means?
What do you see other people replying?
You pretentious fuck
>Source """""2"""""
engines are continually evolving, the engines in two valve games are usually not identical, it's incremental. For example the portal engine supports rendering of portals(being able to look through portals and see what's on the other side is surprisingly hard) as opposed to the older HL2 engine version. . It likely also had other changes that helped portal.
Never thought I'd see somebody posing about this gem here.
I've clocked almost 2k hours on it, good fucking times.
I was pumped for Chivalry, then came the dissapointment. The only game on my Steam I feel buyer's remorse for.
The real question is, why did Valve make Source 2 if they're done making games?
they arent done, u raging faggot
>Dota 2 - made by Icefrog
>CSGO - made by Hidden Path
>L4D - made by Turtle Rock Studios, L4D2 was just tweaks and the setting and characters felt rushed and worse than the origianl
>last """"""game""""""" made by Valve is a VR tech demo called The Lab
it's time to face reality user, Valve is not making games anymore
>made by Icefrog
see pic related
>made by Hidden Path
Was done jointly, and is now done by valve exclusively, Hidden Path Entertainment is a terrible dev.
Underhell
Probably this
