Please tell me if anybody else here is a fellow Guardian, and whether or not you're looking forward to Rise of Iron.
Rise of Iron HYPE!
I'm sure it will be the same repetitive missions with the same recycled areas just like the other expansions. Wake me up when they add matchmaking to raids.
They're adding Private Crucible matches, that's a good start ;)
I'm pretty excited. Title screen theme is pretty sick.
Trust me you don't want matchmaking in raids.
On LFG sites those are people who actually give a shit even if they are bad at the game, matchmaking will just make people bitch about everyone and quitting will be rampant.
I hope to god they restart everything when Destiny 2 comes out. Make everyone start at lvl 1 with no gear so they can make progression and loot actually fun.
Have you ever done matchmaking in one of the strikes that require team work? It's abysmal.
So what "planet" are they adding this time and by planet I mean some abandoned ruins that's about 6 blocks long
Plaguelands on Earth.
i'm dropping destiny. xbox player, i really underestimated activision and sony's partnership.
they really fucked xbox players this time.
You aren't missing anything of worth.
>jump into matchmaking for sword quest Ala Cool
>it's two black guys who I can hardly understand
>we collectively need all 3 wardens done
>we actually complete it and each get our sword in one try
just amazing
>playing since day 1
>dropped vanilla in a month, pure garbage
>bought TTK, a lot better
>dropped it again a few weeks ago
>not going to buy RoI day 1
There is no motivation to play this game. It's just the same old shit. I guess I'll wait for Destiny 2. I fucking had more fun playing BF1 beta than I did running Oryx with shitters.
it's the principle of the matter. if you play a game that's so easily willing to slight a portion of it's fanbase then it doesn't deserve the sale.
I love the gameplay for destiny but a lot of things irked me throughout my time with the game.
1.playstation getting exclusives. at launch this didn't bother me but 3 years of it goes beyond the norm of exclusives in other games.
2. up until Taken King each DLC had it's own grind that basically wiped progress of your game. It took them 2 years to fix that.
3.If you never bought the game you're rewarded for hopping in later rather than sooner.
4.microtransactions
it's a good game but i'm just not taking it anymore.
Go beat Thalnok in Court of Oryx with a bunch of idiots and tell me raids should have matchmaking.
As for recycled areas the new area is about 30% winterized cosmodrome and 70% new.
>3.If you never bought the game you're rewarded for hopping in later rather than sooner.
Except by the time a new person joins the best weapons are long gone. Efrideet Spear(Y1 Iron Banner Sniper)+Weapons bubble is probably the best body killing weapon in the game.
Some of the old faction weapons also have no comparison. Y1 Armor wasn't affected by Y2 changes so you can have 18 shots for sleeper if you kept the old fusion ammo chest pieces
the game constantly buffs and nerfs in so many ways that certain guns become entirely irrelevant in the blink of an eye. Suros Regime was a King at one point, Gjallarhorn was god, Black Hammer was a must have. Autos were great, Pulse was shit and then things just flip at any moment a gun can be crap if enough think it's good.
best machine gun is the xerces-c if you're not playing light level based matches
well the latest balance patch only killed 3 things.
Thorn(again), mid-high impact snipers(no more super shut downs), and Universal remote. Touch of Malice kinda got nerfed in the sense that blessing will not stop damage
I was a Christmas kiddie who got it the first Christmas after its release.
I love destiny, the lore is great. But shit started getting repetitive and content was lacking.
I have gone through TTK but haven't even touched Oryx. There is just no motivation to.
Also, Alak Hul in the Sunless Cell is the best fucking strike I have ever played in my life and I fucking love it
>Have a couple of level 40 exotic weapons
>They all have the same DPS
I wish they wouldn't do this, it's a boring way to balance loot. Variants obfuscate this even further, because eg. it reduces overall damage in favour of a higher firerate, but in the end it's the same DPS. It feels very tacked on, you might as well just give everyone access to all weapons at all times.
I wish this game had a more intricate loot hunt.
the fact that it still happens should still say something. not that this was a major factor for me. I'd say the slight to xbox bothers me the most. It's just something that even hurts the playstation players as well
This is the one game I just can't quit playing.
It lacks a ton of shit that other AAA focus on (cutscenes, stories, crazy graphics) and just delivers a game that is fundamentally fun to control and play.
