bioshock is fucking amazing but if you play 2 you won't think infinite is worth shit

1 feels like a handcrafted piece of love 2 feels rushed but more fun mechanics, infinite feels like a cashgrab

the first one is fucking fantastic and i can't recommend it enough just for the story alone and the atmosphere and cool gun mods

It's nice for a playthrough, but after that, you realize the game is driven by its setting and story, which aren't nearly as interesting the second time around. The gameplay on its own is flawed and boring. Example: Dying does not matter, you can literally run into a big daddy and chip away his health with the wrench while he kills you over and over again, you'll still win. You just respawn, no repercussions whatsoever. No ammo loss, nothing. You are unstoppable and everything is inconsequential.

Infinite was the only one I didn't replay on a higher difficulty, way too bland.

Bioshock is one of those games where it was amazing back when it came out.

can we have just one thread where we stop bitching about infinite and just talk about the first game and it's sequel.

2 is underrated, people criticized it for continuing what was agreed was a finished story and that made it feel hamfisted or forced, but in reality I think it had a compelling and genuine set of characters that portrayed a harder hitting personal story, compared to the first game which was heavily political and philosophical. In terms of gameplay it was obviously more fun but I felt that it was also significantly less challenging than Bioshock 1.
