Did your parents introduce you to gaming? Will you raise your kids as gamers?
Did your parents introduce you to gaming? Will you raise your kids as gamers?
>having kids
No and No
If they want to play games then that's fine, but I won't force that shit on them unless if they have shit taste. Gamer culture in general is cancer and is a breeding ground for nu male cucks anyways.
my mother sort of introduced me to gaming.
She decided to move to the other side of the country and our neighbour saw it as an opportunity to get rid of a stolen playstation he couldn't sell so he gave it to us.
My mother got me into video games. I played my first game with her, which was Joust for the atari 7800
She didn't have any friends and my father would beat her when I was younger, so she played a lot of games with me to I guess escape that shit
She saved up and bought an NES and some games for Christmas one year and we played that together every day
We were poor so the time she bought an NES, I think the n64 was just out or some shit
I got an n64 way later down the road and we would play mario kart 64, mario party, mario golf and other games together all the time
She isn't alive anymore due to cancer and I avoid my asshole father. So props to you Mom, I miss you.
no and yes i will try and see if they like playing videogames. I think it'd be cool to play multiplayer vidya as bonding, but if they don't like it i'm not gonna force them to do it like an asshole.
>the "feminine" mushroom is purple
>aka a poison mushroom
really makes you think
my dad bought me my n64 and played doom on pc
>then he left
>that image
Why do you faggots insist on posting this cringe inducing bullshit?
>Did your parents introduce you to gaming?
No.
My mom played Mario Party with me once, said it was bullshit, and never tried video games again.
I don't remember my parents introducing me to gaming directly, it was just something that was in the house.
If I have kids it will be the same.
Actually, yeah. My dad got me in with Mario and Dragon Warrior when I was little. My mom even played games for a while, and she was able to finish Actraiser, and even today I'm impressed by that.
My mom did the typical Blockbuster thing most of Sup Forums seems to have experienced, but she took it a step further. She always played the Donkey Kong Country demo with the mine cart level with me. She eventually bought the game, and we played the fuck out of it together. She even beat the hard parts I couldn't handle as a kid. We had an awesome time together. She was always surprising me with new games to try and never quit asking about how much I enjoyed them or the details of what I did and didn't like.
Now I'm going to have a kid soon, and I even met my wife through MapleStory. I started early on video games, have played them through my entire life, and will continue to do so probably until I die. I would love to share that with my daughter as she grows up. Anything we could bond over is a good thing. That said, if she isn't interested then I won't force it. Still, I do hope she enjoys them. I'd love to share something like my mom shared with me.
Actually I think my dad did rent a SNES from a old video store and then my parents kinda noticed I really enjoyed playing games and we eventually got a playstation for Christmas so... yes? In retrospects its actually kind of sweet for them to do that for me, they even bought me crash bandicoot 2 and megaman legends.
In regards to my own kids I don't wanna force any kinda shit on them and to be honest I would rather they go outside and beat up all there friends with rocks and shit and grow up to be a smart friendly chad dude. But if they like video games so be it.
This. I'd like to play games wiht my hypothetical daughter if I ever have one but I won't force it on my offspring.
My father introduced me to video games with Age of Empires, which is one of the two PC games he owned at the time.
He also bought a PlayStation the year we moved to the States. He was probably more into video games than I was until the PS3 came out and it made him too motion sick. Poor guy hasn't played vidya since Wii Sports.
He also unwittingly introduced me to anime because our country was absolute poverty and decided to dub shit from all over instead of producing original television content.
I showed him my new PC recently and as he looked over my shoulder excitedly and asked questions I realize we'd exchanged roles.
I'm not planning on having kids, but if I did I wish I could make vidya seem as magical as my dad did for me.
fuck senpai, rip ur mother was based
My mom played Nintendo when I was in grade school, she bought Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania, Sector Z and Legendary Wings. I became a gamer, still am and promote gaming to my kids. Better than heroin if you ask me
I think I would have liked to have been introduced to heroin instead of vidya games.
I would be dead by now
Nope. I didn't play a video game until I was 21
I know a guy who actually posted this shit twice. One for his first kid and a few months ago for his second. It's hilarious because he looks like a generic stoner and his girlfriend is literally a chubbier pic related. There is no way in hell they are going to last when 90% of their relationship is based on """"""gaming""""".
yo...
Jesus that chick looks like a mess, and these fucking creatures are breeding?
I didn't come here for these feels. May she rest in piece
My uncle gave us a NES and a pirate cart with an truckload of games on it. I'm don't know whether he was being generous and giving it to me cause it bought a PS1 soon after, or my parents saw me drooling over vidya displays in shopping malls and bought it from my uncle (we're not very well to do). Either way, I was a lucky kid.
She wanted the D user
>Did your parents introduce you to gaming?
Father kept and played on his TI Home Computer, C64, and Atari 2600 in what was my bedroom at the time. I grew up playing games like Pitfall, Frogger, and Berzerk. Got educational games for the TI and C64 over time to help with school, though I was only ever interested in math related ones.
Then he found a deal on a pair of used Amigas, gave me the 500 for my bedroom, both of us loved to pirate every new game for them.
>Will you raise your kids as 'gamers'
I'll introduce my child(ren) to games, up to them if they like them or not.

Cancer is a fucking cunt. All of you anons with nice mothers, tell them you love them. Because there will be a point where you never can again.
I'll never have kids because of video games.
My dad introduced me to gaming, mom was mostly indifferent towards them.
By the time I'll become a father gaming as we know it today will be dead.
For the most part it was friends at school, but my mother got me into handhelds(Her old Gameboy and got me a DS Lite one Christmas) and my father got me into flight simulators(First FS2004, I later picked up IL-2).
They'll play games, but I don't want it to be their defining trait.
