On CRT or plasma, yes.

>Plasma

Faggot. IPS-LED a best.

>IPS-LED

Enjoy your grey blacks

GOD NO

Games are meant to be played at big fucking tvs.

now we are getting HDR, the true evolution of Gaming TV.

Monitors are cheap ass tiny fucking shit.

Plasma is still the best video tech ever made. LCD is fucking pocket calculator technology, its way overstayed its welcome, garbage color accuracy and terrible motion handling, not to mention dead pixels. OLED is a meme so far but looks promising. CRT is ace but you can't make as large screens with it as you can with plasmas.

>OLED is a meme
Nothing looks better than OLED.

Video games are meant to be played on every screen you can afford.

>i can't afford it, that's why I'm spouting bullshit
Don't worry kid, maybe one day you'll have enough money to buy a good monitor

I bet the viewing angle on my monitor is higher than your TV unless you sit right on the floor in front of it

Yes but motion handling is still not as good as plasma or CRT. Color reproduction isn't everything.

Sauce

>HDR
Is this some new proprietary meme by Nvidia or something?

Unless you're a hardcore e-sports FPS gaymer faggot, it really doesn't matter. I'd get OLED everything if it wasn't so damn expensive. I think there's also longevity concerns with OLED screens too, but I'm not sure.

But this years OLED dont have the jitter problem, and next years will run at real 120hz

visual novels.

All of them.

TVs fucking suck. Even console games should be played on monitors.

l like to play in a monitor, even single player games like Uncharted 4 or GTAV

dunno why, but it a monitor, games are a hell more crisp, even console games.

Monitors have delivered a superior experience for some time now user. Overclocking, higher refresh rates, native resolutions, custom profiles, lower response times and other features.

>Games are meant to be played at big fucking tvs.

Next you're gonna say games are made for surround sound lmao

IPS has absolutely shit blacks compare to OLED or VA, if you can't notice, you're probably just used to substandard blacks

Headset meme

lel

motion handling on plasma isn't as good in person as it is on paper due to phosphor lag

oled will never be able to get bright enough to support proper HDR, which is why LG had to come up with their own silly measurement for "HDR" certification

there will never be a perfect tv :

It's called headphones and a standup mic, pleb.

Headsets are shit.

I never understood how console gamers could put up with 30fps until I started playing from a couch on a 60" TV. Shit's great. Certain games are just far better played like this than hunched over a monitor, and 30fps is really not a big deal from a distance for some reason. Competitive games should definitely be played on a monitor though.

>professionals use variations of IPS because of its color accuracy
>that one guy on Sup Forums says the opposite

Just make one that supports DSR and downsampling.

l live the colours of a IPS display(LG ship calibrated)

now the blacks are horrible shit.

There's a big difference between professional grade IPS panels and the dreck that gets sold to consumers

whats that from
can you tell me please if you dont you're a bully

Does anyone here have an Ultrasharp like this?

amazon.com/dp/B00SPWPF1O/ref=twister_B014R6JGR0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I've been thinking about getting one. How is it for gaming? I don't do competitive multiplayer or anything that needs a 1ms display. The fastest I go is 90s fps like Doom and Duke.

Thanks for clarification, I'm out of pills

>there will never be a perfect tv :

I have a UP2716D, pretty great, bezel is ridiculously thin too. Dell pretty much has never made a bad monitor, plus their warranty and pixel replacement policy is the best in the industry.

I assumed everyone had a pixel replacement policy like Dell, until I ran into issues with Samsung and Asus and found out they have some bullshit 8 minimum policy, and all the pixels have to be in the center to warrant a replacement.

i have the 24 inch, it's fine if you dont care about refresh rate

>I assumed everyone had a pixel replacement policy like Dell, until I ran into issues with Samsung and Asus and found out they have some bullshit 8 minimum policy, and all the pixels have to be in the center to warrant a replacement.

Buy from merchants with good return policies. I have awful luck with screens and always need to go through a few.

>BIGGER IS BETTER
>Monitors are cheap ass

Monitors are capable of higher resolutions, refresh rates and response times than TVs.
You're an idiot. No wonder your country is a shithole that the rest of the world denigrates at every opportunity.

>Console games are Monet paintings

Sounds about right.

Not seeing the pixels up close means I can still enjoy XB360 games which objectively look like ass from 0.5m away on a monitor. I'm ok with it being this way.

>now we are getting HDR, the true evolution of Gaming TV.

Nigger there are no gaming TVs, they all have horrendous input lag

And I'm hearing these HDR modes have even more input lag

HDR monitor or bust
