>Fallout 3 Vault experiment where psychoactive drugs were released into the air filtration system, causing its inmates to go insane.
>Fallout: New Vegas Vault experiment where dwellers were told to sacrifice one of its members once a year or risk all being killed, forcing them to place ideals above another persons life. In order to create an organized system of survival the dwellers decided that the yearly elected overseer be the one to be sacrificed. Leading to an ironic depiction of politics, in which people begin slandering other members in order to avoid being elected as the new leader of the vault. After a new act was put in place by an elected overseer making it so that overseers be randomly chosen, a civil war broke out with only 5 remaining survivors. These 5 survivors refused to sacrifice themselves and were greeted to a message congratulating them for being shining examples of humanity and that the vault would open and no one would be executed. All but 1 of the survivors commit suicide, and 4 skeletons are found in the execution chamber. The "lone survivor" of Vault 11 is nowhere to be found.
Fallout 3 did have some pretty good vaults. >dat Leave it to Beaver-esque 1950s sim
Henry Ramirez
Can somebody screencap OP's post and post the image?
I want to use this later but my screencap button's broken.
Daniel Perry
I love how biased the descriptions are.
Jason Moore
Here you go pham.
Jacob Morris
>It's an "obsidrone oblivious to NV's awful writing" episode
Eli Turner
Thanks user
Chase Lee
kek, the only reason the new vegas NPCS are unkillable is because they're all children, except yes man.
Parker Cooper
*whistles*
really makes you think, huh
Blake Peterson
WHY DO THOSE WEBMS HAVE SOUND
Chase Ward
No problem friend, helping out others is important.
By the way, have you tried out the new Fallout 4 dlc?
Thomas Butler
You're right, Fallout 4's vaults didn't have the wickid and nihilistic edge of the previous entries, but the Far Harbor vault with all the old world celebrities and an artificial beach was cool as hell.
Tyler Morales
>fallout 3 Ill just post a very brief description of vaults experiment
>fallout NV Ill post an obviously extended description of the vaults initial experiment, followed by a extra info and lore to make NV appear to be the beefier, better written game of the 3 because I want it to be so badly.
>fallout 4 Lol I'll just shit post at this point to show my disdain with fallout 4
Good post
Caleb Mitchell
wasnt this all explained in the conversations with house?
Logan Roberts
>Fallout New Vegas Vault experiment where they gamble
Explaining the parts of a game you like in more detail than the one you don't like doesn't make it better
Parker Hernandez
How about this one. In Fallout 4 they get HIT BY THE SHOCK WAVE OF A NUCLEAR BOMB AND LIVE
David Richardson
Newsflash: Every Fallout after 2 is garbage, akin to 343i Halo.
Grayson Roberts
Gifs boards can have sound
Bentley Watson
Uh... o-of course i h-have Tod- I MEAN uh kind sir
S-see, even got my genuine Nuka Quantum Power Armor!
Brody Nelson
this is bait butch and the overseer are both killable
Adrian Murphy
You're pathetic. There's plenty of reasons to complain about F4, but this is just a circlejerk.
Zachary Wright
Still waiting on the other two.
Aaron Campbell
You could explain all of them realy vaguely until you had the result you wanted so.

In the opening, is that the nuke that hit boston?
I'm actually playing through for the first time right now and boston seems very intact for a city that got nuked.
Charles Hughes
>it's an NMA thread WAHT DO THEY EAT LOL SHANDIFICKATION LMAO WHO FITES OVER WATER I CAN JUST SPT INTO A GLASS
Jack Watson
Watch as Bethesda retcon everything that happened in fallout 4 by going ''lol you were dead all along ''
Ryder Taylor
Outskirts, it caused the glowing sea.
Zachary Gutierrez
>Travis Miles >the only good thing Yeah, that guy was b8ing hard.
Ryder Stewart
Why do you guys spam your macros like they're the be all and end about these games?
Honeslty having a conversation about Fallout always ends up with them being posted because you can't come up with an original point and rely on the intelligence and wit of someone else to do it for you.
Joseph Davis
But that vault was a success, since all issues were solved through gambling or chance.
It was one of the few decent vaults and it was doing just fine until House came along and manage to outgamble them.
Nathan Miller
It was an "NMA shits on everything past Fallout 2" OP
Zachary White
Reminder that this is the only thing that Fallout 3 did right.
Aaron Richardson
Doesn't make them incorrect.
Seriously, there is literally 0 reason for kellogg to shoot your wife/husband at the start of the game.
Colton Taylor
List is of characters who at one point or another are essential
Overseer pre-escape and kid Butch were invincible
Asher Hernandez
>Why do you guys spam your macros like they're the be all and end about these games? ezmode shitposting it still works because of stupid people
Tyler Myers
that quest was actually a lot of fun and i like how your attitude affected your reward
and just lying about it would actually end up in NPCs calling you a hack writer who gets people killed
Isaiah Sanders
>decide to blow up Megaton, with her being one of the reasons >she survives
I was a little disappointed
Eli Nguyen
>Having the need to point out a shitpost lol
Jason Wright
Her voice was awful and when I found out nuking her wouldn't do it I shot her myself.
Luis Rodriguez
I have two complaints about New Vegas: 1. the world is too empty 2. enemies like radscorpions/cazadores/Roman assassins are bullet sponges I have two complaints about Fallout 3: 1. the story is stupid and too linear 2. you have to have DLC to even continue the game after the main story My complaints against Fallout 4 are too numerous, it would be easier to name off the positives: 1. the radio is awesome 2. the base building is great assuming you have console commands ie aren't playing on a console.
Aiden Taylor
>Wasn't all the dumb random things in 3 like vault tech having the fev, and deathclaws and super mutants in the capital explained by contingency? There's no real explanation for anything. Heated all you want but at least four had a constant reason for why the main character did what he did. Avenging his wife, reuniting with his son, destroying the Institute or the institute's enemies. 3 & 4 just happened and the protag was just along for the ride.
Bentley Young
>2. enemies like radscorpions/cazadores/Roman assassins are bullet sponges
Only early on. As you climb in levels and actually get your hands on a good weapon like the Anti-Material Rifle those motherfuckers melt like butter.
Brody Jackson
Most of them are incorrect though.
I mean this one here is half opinion, half incorrect. But you spam it because it's 'funny'.
1) You're on the list and accepted in the Vault already. This is literally explained in the first 5 minutes of the game. 2) It's not the first you've heard of it. 3) Yes, why would a game reference earlier themes from the earlier games. DURRR. 4) Kellogg had no respect for human life and if you played the game you literally get to see inside his head whilst his happened. How did you miss the actual explanation for this one honestly. 5) This is also explained in game. Twice. They leave you alive to have a close genetic sample if for some reason something happens to Shaun.
At this point I'm half certain this guy just watched a lets play and called it a day.
David Adams
>Her voice was awful
Isaac Ward
Hate it* all you want 3 & NV* happened and the protag...
Kayden Johnson
I wish it wasn't so awful.
Christopher Fisher
The shock wave of a nuclear bomb isn't what you have to worry about if you are more than a few miles from the hypocenter, the thermal radiation wave is. From the intro it looks as if Boston was hit by an MIRV; cluster nukes which have smaller yields than single nuke warheads, which are also a lot more survivable.
Zachary Powell
I've always had an issue with Travis's character development. In the finale of his quest for confidence, this awkward, cowardly, shrimpy guy who for all we knew had zero wasteland survival or combat skills, volunteers to join us in a fucking shootout with savage raiders.
Surviving this ordeal somehow turns him into a smooth talking ladies man the very next time you hear him on the radio, and he barely reacts to the girl he risked his life for friendzoning him.
Ethan Miller
immortal implies unkillable still bait
Jason Moore
What are your specs desu?
Gavin Ross
Are you running it on a potato, holy shit
Sebastian Mitchell
It is a fun mindless shooter. Just a completely awful fallout game. The sad part is some pretty simple design decisions could have made this game great
Jace Flores
>PS4 screenshot
Luis Reed
Don't feel bad about those awful graphics, I'm in a similar situation.
Andrew Edwards
But they are unkillable.
Kid-Butch and Pre-Escape Overseer are unkillable (and have different models, maybe that's why they're classes as immortal)
John Davis
No its not
Kevin Hall
Fuck off retard
Caleb Myers
Kek. Killer argument user. Sorry I insulted you shitty macros.
Jaxon Miller
4 had >vault that the Gunners were kinda born from, with the shooting gallery. genetically honing, culling off weak test subjects. some straight up nazi shit.
>one that never really got used
>one that the Gunners invaded and took over that i don't remember if it had any neat shit going on.
>A perfectly normal and functional one
>and the experimental cryostasis vault.
I honestly appreciate that 4 just had a normal functional vault in it with no retarded dramatics or sinister shit going on. it was going to have a bunch of medical experimentation stuff but they put a stop to it.
Liam Gray
They really need to refresh the aesthetic and the general feel of the games, try something new. Biggest thing that makes exploration in 4 boring personally is how easy it is to predict what happened when you go in a place. >oops military secret experiment made spooky monsters/robots >uh oh robots are following their wacky pre war protocols and now their violent >wow a ghoulified pre war survivor who is now a scientist or some madman >a working terminal in an office, let's see what wacky hijinks the employees are up to this time It feels like reruns of a tv show. Same applies to the gameplay as well, most of the same tactics apply to all newer Fallouts, with New Vegas being slightly more interesting with it's more complex mechanics and crafting.
Adam Phillips
why is pic related even a character in the game? hes fucking awful
one thing that I actually liked about three, was the fact that having and attaining negative karma was a whole lot easier than in new vegas.
>literally kill every mercenary I come across in the waste
Very good FRIEND OF THE PEOPLE
Why
Brandon Morales
You mean the one with people in it or the one the gunners took over?
Juan Brooks
The point of Vault 111 was to see how completely oblivious test subjects would react to suddenly awaking an unspecified amount of time later. It was basically a test run for cryogenic stasis.
the point of the vault experiments were to test conditions that might arise during space travel or colonization on new worlds, which was the pre-war Enclave's real goal, leave the destroyed earth behind and settle someplace else.
Unfortunately Bethesda forgot this completely and Vaults are now WACKY 50's MESSED UP SOCIAL EXPERIMENTS WHOOOOAAAA
Post Bethesda Fallouts are non-canon fanfiction and that's that. There has not been a Fallout game since Tactics and there never will be because Fallout died with Interplay.
Kevin Hall
>1. the world is too empty this the gunplay is trash because you just run forward at eachother pulling the trigger because there's no cover, and schlepping around the world is boring because there's no diversions
F3 felt kinda like a road trip in a way, there was usually something to at least slow down and poke at along the way from location to location.
Jonathan Wright
I mean. That's kinda much, senpai. New Vegas is great.
Connor Richardson
Ultra godrays removes that blur. Not worth the performance loss though.
Yeah, Three Dog never worked for me. He might have worked in 4, because it has some 50s era rock n roll on the radio.
but as it stands, literally none of the music he plays syncs up with his persona in 3.
Owen Ortiz
>1023MB NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450
Aaron Taylor
Get a better graphics card, holy shit. You have a top-tier CPU, RAM.
Jaxon Hall
talking about the one near the edge of the glowing sea. I can't remember anything about it other than it was a big gunner hideout.
But there is another one, that's entrance is in the basement of a school near greentop nursury. It's also full of gunners but I think it hinted that it was kind of their point of origin in the common wealth.
Luke Thomas
Sonygger here. That looks like shit.
Leo Peterson
I know. My grandfather bought my pc for me before he passed away. A friend of mine gave me his old graphics card. I'm bad with money.
Jace Howard
>Post Bethesda Fallouts are non-canon fanfiction and that's that. Nice head-canon.
>Unfortunately Bethesda forgot this completely and Vaults are now WACKY 50's MESSED UP SOCIAL EXPERIMENTS WHOOOOAAAA The Enclave direct Vault-Tec in that direction without having complete control.
One of the conversations I loved in Fallout 4 was the Triggerman asking why there was a Vault being built in the subway, and the pre-war ghoul explaining it was just a way to continue sucking money up for the workers and Vault-tec.
I think the Vaults are once again the best part of this game and noone would give them shit if they weren't in F4. But you know gotta follow that hivemind.
Oliver Long
Overseer pre-escape is killable though, it chnages the return quest if you kill him while escaping.
Leo Bennett
Waiting for the Grand Tour bug to get fixed.
Joseph Garcia
What bug is that?
Asher Jenkins
Nope that one got fucked too. It was a rehab vault that only admitted addicts. After 5 years with the vault door closed they opened a secret wall to a cache of chems. Hilarity ensued. Gunners bust in and set up shack.
Hunter Cox
>lol ur frozen and u survived I'm going to give credit where credit is due here and say that Vault 81's experiment was pretty cool. It had a believable goal, the set up of the vault was really cool, and I liked the story behind the abandoned part of the vault. The only thing I fucking hated with a passion about that vault is the fact that THERE IS A FUCKING DOOR TO THE SECRET PART OF THE VAULT IN FRONT OF THE FUCKING ENTRANCE AND NOBODY BOTHERED TRYING TO OPEN IT AFTER 200 FUCKING YEARS AND IT'S SO FUCKING DUMB BECAUSE IT IS THE FIRST DOOR YOU NOTICE WHEN YOU GET IN AND FUCKING FUCK THE LEVEL DESIGNER
Sebastian Ortiz
>Fall Out Thread >No Fall Out Bois >Time 2 post Fall Out Boy
Also the fact it worked contradicted Fallout 2... again.
Cooper Carter
I didn't think it was possible, but you actually ruined a shit thread.
Grats, I guess
Easton Scott
yea I wish he played some really funky rock/blues/r&b rather than whitebread big band stuff
they should have kept Tenpenny radio and made that one the generic 50s big band stuff while 3dog was more bohemian
Jordan Powell
I have a problem with locating items in these games, literally pixelhunting. Is there any way for highlighting them?
Noah Campbell
>the fact it worked contradicted Fallout 2 I only got to New Reno in Fallout 2, what is it contradicting?
Josiah James
There was an area, can't remember where, that had frozen people.
They turned into goop as soon as they stepped out, the experiment failed.
Meanwhile on East Coast....
Benjamin Cooper
>Two differnet experiements >Two different outcomes Colour me surprised.
Ryder Allen
HNNNNNNGGG...
Brandon Richardson
>Experiment A was cryogenic freezing >Experiment B was cryogenic freezing in a vault
Huh?
William Carter
Wait wasn't that the side quest area for New Reno? The Army place? They weren't doing cryogenic freezing if I remember though, they were experimenting with bio-gel.
Jaxon Ward
Not to defend Bethesda, but in Fallout 2, they were frozen using something called Bio Med Gel. Which was shown to not fucking work at all.
>Bio gel used in robobrains and healing >A complete cryo-genic chamber and Vault set-up with side projects such as cryolator Fuck you. Bet you didnt even play fallout 2.
Ryder Cooper
When you're supposed to talk to gage after you get all the parks he just says the first line of dialogue and stops without any response. Redownloading doesn't fix it.
