After a new act was put in place by an elected overseer making it so that overseers be randomly chosen, a civil war broke out with only 5 remaining survivors. These 5 survivors refused to sacrifice themselves and were greeted to a message congratulating them for being shining examples of humanity and that the vault would open and no one would be executed. All but 1 of the survivors commit suicide, and 4 skeletons are found in the execution chamber. The "lone survivor" of Vault 11 is nowhere to be found.

You're right, Fallout 4's vaults didn't have the wickid and nihilistic edge of the previous entries, but the Far Harbor vault with all the old world celebrities and an artificial beach was cool as hell.

Honeslty having a conversation about Fallout always ends up with them being posted because you can't come up with an original point and rely on the intelligence and wit of someone else to do it for you.

But that vault was a success, since all issues were solved through gambling or chance.

It was one of the few decent vaults and it was doing just fine until House came along and manage to outgamble them.

I have two complaints about New Vegas:
1. the world is too empty
2. enemies like radscorpions/cazadores/Roman assassins are bullet sponges
I have two complaints about Fallout 3:
1. the story is stupid and too linear
2. you have to have DLC to even continue the game after the main story
My complaints against Fallout 4 are too numerous, it would be easier to name off the positives:
1. the radio is awesome
2. the base building is great assuming you have console commands ie aren't playing on a console.

There's no real explanation for anything. Heated all you want but at least four had a constant reason for why the main character did what he did. Avenging his wife, reuniting with his son, destroying the Institute or the institute's enemies. 3 & 4 just happened and the protag was just along for the ride.

Only early on. As you climb in levels and actually get your hands on a good weapon like the Anti-Material Rifle those motherfuckers melt like butter.

1) You're on the list and accepted in the Vault already. This is literally explained in the first 5 minutes of the game.
2) It's not the first you've heard of it.
3) Yes, why would a game reference earlier themes from the earlier games. DURRR.
4) Kellogg had no respect for human life and if you played the game you literally get to see inside his head whilst his happened. How did you miss the actual explanation for this one honestly.
5) This is also explained in game. Twice. They leave you alive to have a close genetic sample if for some reason something happens to Shaun.

At this point I'm half certain this guy just watched a lets play and called it a day.

The shock wave of a nuclear bomb isn't what you have to worry about if you are more than a few miles from the hypocenter, the thermal radiation wave is. From the intro it looks as if Boston was hit by an MIRV; cluster nukes which have smaller yields than single nuke warheads, which are also a lot more survivable.

I've always had an issue with Travis's character development. In the finale of his quest for confidence, this awkward, cowardly, shrimpy guy who for all we knew had zero wasteland survival or combat skills, volunteers to join us in a fucking shootout with savage raiders.

Surviving this ordeal somehow turns him into a smooth talking ladies man the very next time you hear him on the radio, and he barely reacts to the girl he risked his life for friendzoning him.

I honestly appreciate that 4 just had a normal functional vault in it with no retarded dramatics or sinister shit going on. it was going to have a bunch of medical experimentation stuff but they put a stop to it.

They really need to refresh the aesthetic and the general feel of the games, try something new. Biggest thing that makes exploration in 4 boring personally is how easy it is to predict what happened when you go in a place.

It feels like reruns of a tv show. Same applies to the gameplay as well, most of the same tactics apply to all newer Fallouts, with New Vegas being slightly more interesting with it's more complex mechanics and crafting.

The point of Vault 111 was to see how completely oblivious test subjects would react to suddenly awaking an unspecified amount of time later. It was basically a test run for cryogenic stasis.

the gunplay is trash because you just run forward at eachother pulling the trigger because there's no cover, and schlepping around the world is boring because there's no diversions

F3 felt kinda like a road trip in a way, there was usually something to at least slow down and poke at along the way from location to location.

I mean. That's kinda much, senpai. New Vegas is great.

Ultra godrays removes that blur. Not worth the performance loss though.

The Enclave direct Vault-Tec in that direction without having complete control.

One of the conversations I loved in Fallout 4 was the Triggerman asking why there was a Vault being built in the subway, and the pre-war ghoul explaining it was just a way to continue sucking money up for the workers and Vault-tec.

I think the Vaults are once again the best part of this game and noone would give them shit if they weren't in F4. But you know gotta follow that hivemind.

Overseer pre-escape is killable though, it chnages the return quest if you kill him while escaping.

Nope that one got fucked too. It was a rehab vault that only admitted addicts. After 5 years with the vault door closed they opened a secret wall to a cache of chems. Hilarity ensued. Gunners bust in and set up shack.

I'm going to give credit where credit is due here and say that Vault 81's experiment was pretty cool. It had a believable goal, the set up of the vault was really cool, and I liked the story behind the abandoned part of the vault. The only thing I fucking hated with a passion about that vault is the fact that THERE IS A FUCKING DOOR TO THE SECRET PART OF THE VAULT IN FRONT OF THE FUCKING ENTRANCE AND NOBODY BOTHERED TRYING TO OPEN IT AFTER 200 FUCKING YEARS AND IT'S SO FUCKING DUMB BECAUSE IT IS THE FIRST DOOR YOU NOTICE WHEN YOU GET IN AND FUCKING FUCK THE LEVEL DESIGNER

They weren't doing cryogenic freezing if I remember though, they were experimenting with bio-gel.

Not to defend Bethesda, but in Fallout 2, they were frozen using something called Bio Med Gel. Which was shown to not fucking work at all.
