Man it's not that the dust has settled, it fucking accumulated over centuries and formed a mountain chain so massive you would need goddamn sherpas to climb.
I don't think it's possible/fair/accurate to judge such old classic games with today's standards, which is somehow unavoidable.
Still the best Zelda game. I'm only mildly interested in Breast of the Wyld because it is finally getting back to true free roaming like the first game.
It's basically Dark Souls
You mean dark souls is basically it
That joke is about Zelda 2. And even then, its inaccurate.
Can't find the last dungeon, 6/10.
Yeah it's a good game but kids nowaday expect to beat every single game they play. So instead of dropping the game and appreciate the fun they had with it while knowing there is more to be had if they decide to come back later, they just complain about it on the internet.
>Can't find the last dungeon
Literally the whole game has been talking about Spectacle Rock and Death Mountain. If you can't wander around the northern mountain range until you find two large rocks next to each other, then you are just incompetent.
Bait and/or hipster thread
played it for the first time a couple of weeks ago
surprisingly good despite it's age
a little tedious farming rupees at some points
some things were a little to cryptic especially bombing the walls but that isn't particularly uncommon in older games and zelda isn't the worst offender
difficulty is a bit off in some parts but the respawn mechanic is pretty generous
sure. Kinda cryptic in places, and it goes way overboard with wizrobes in the later dungeons
>2 challenges
>You can access the second one by putting your name "Zelda" or beating the first challenge
>Multiple bosses per dungeon
>Items have a lot of uses
>Some items are found outside the dungeons
>Your main weapon is optional
>No handholding, is actually a 8-bit sandbox game
Zelda 1 is masterpiece of gameplay, I hope Aunoma emulates and translates some of this stuff properly for BotW
>only thing Aonuma will emulate is that there are tentacled creatures on the overworld that will kill Link easily
T-thanks Aonuma
the dust is so unsettled that people still fail to acknowledge how fucking bad wind waker was and unironically call it "best zelda game" even now over a decade later, and they think 25 years was all it took to call it settled on zelda 1? yikes.
I bought this a couple days ago from the eshop.
First time playing and I'm actually enjoying myself. Granted I'm using a map for the overworld but Dungeons I run through blind. I think it holds up surprisingly well.
The only awful parts are the incredibly hidden and hart to find secrets.
>whole game talking
nigga wat
It's aged and archaic in some respects but I still consider it a masterpiece. Nothing beats the joy of finding caves and dungeons on your own with no help or guides. Admittedly, I did need to look up how to progress past the hungry Goriya.
You can easily farm rupees in Level 2 and 3 and some places give you a lot of rupees for free. Get the blue candle, is a good friend.
Fuck blue Wizzrobes. Fuck them Fuck them FUCK THEM
Or just gamble. ;^)
I think the gamble places have their options fixed, so no RNG
What are save states?
What is bringing up the save menu to retry and get back to the start and using the casino right next to it?
The Adventures of Link is better.
