I'm playing the game and I like it, so I don't know why you came to a conclusion that I cared.
It's just odd to find out certain games that are cult classics now got bad reviews for dumb reasons.

Deadly Premonition was one of the funniest and funnest games last gen.

While mediocre games get inflated scores all the time from the Big Two (IGN and Gamespot), I very rarely see good games recieve bad scores.

This happens in movies all the time since critics love to underscore. Gaming has the opposite problem, both good and bad games get great scores from the critics.

Does not mean it plays like resident evil 4. The level design, enemies and weapons are all extremely different. Plus the qtes. It was playable but it wasn't even mediocre gameplay.

How about some good games that got shit on by everybody? Just finished playing this and I'm amazed it got the shit it did. Between the reviewers and the Lost Planet community melding with the Monster Hunter community this game didn't had a chance in hell.

The bad guys being the only ones with some involvement in the plot outside of sidequests and to get any kind of foreshadowing was eh, but how it played out was great. And love interest dying instead of no deaths or MC self-sacrifice was a surprise

Its just so shallow and simple, everything related to the mech is very nothing.

Story was pretty good, characters pretty good. Shooting was ok, everything else was nothing.

That's actually pretty generous. Digimon World 3 was terribly grindy. It was horribly imbalanced in stats, still using the stats from Digimon World 2 which assumed 3v1 boss fights. And the optional card game aspect would progress without you - meaning that if you wanted to get into the card game at any point except the very beginning, everyone would have endgame cards and decks and simply crush you into a paste.

Chapter 8 may have been one of the biggest cluster fucks of a level ever. The game was bad but no where near 32 metacritic score bad. The PC online version looks kinda fun though.

Every PMD game. Explorers of Sky in particular has a 54 on Metacritic.

They seem to have warmed up slightly with PSMD having a 69, but I still think it's too low.

Nah see that deserved it. To be honest I don't even think Itagaki wanted anything to do with it anymore. It had been in development so long that he just wanted to get it over with, at least in my view.

I honestly don't get it.
It was a very polished action game that ran better than like 99% of games nowadays yet it got routinely shit on for MUH NOT BEING TRUE TO THE SERIES. It is quite seriously the best game the series has had, and I'm not even a Platinumfag. Worst thing is a lot of the reviewers complained about it being too hard when it was shit easy. Considering it's short a budget downloadable tie-in game it's honestly pretty good yet you see reviews proclaim it as one of the shittiest games of all time. It just baffles me.

I mean, even ardent fans of the series seem to think it's pretty good and it's a shame people seem to have got put off by those reviews. I seriously don't know what people were expecting.

My only issue is I really didn't like the Korra series and can't see myself sitting through a whole game of it. The gameplay looks fun though.

Kid Icarus got away with a more challenging control scheme and critics didn't give them nearly as much shit over it. I do think redeveloping it for a traditional controller in a year or two would make it an easy 9/10 for casual reviewers though.
