yes but you can simply find groups of people online and join their games. and its free so just play with your friends. only downside is the win10 requirement
The problem is you're having to add people to a friends list in order to play. That doesn't really qualify as "full multiplayer", that's "limited multiplayer".
Now just port Halo 3 to PC with Halo 5's improvements to Forge and we'll have something worth playing.

Halo 5's gameplay isn't garbage, user although it's still a console game by PC standards. It and Forge are the best parts of the entire package.

Arena isn't fun, only the tryhard sweaties remain now that the population diminished, so matchmaking and rankings are once again fucked. You can be a total shitter and end up in Platinum 6 just because you only matched against diamond and onyx players
Halo Online got shut down by the end of last year. Russians weren't interested in it or its market.
However, fans picked up a beta before it released because of their stupidity, and reworked it into "Eldewrito" (a pun on the exe name of Eldorado), which has a small-knit community. The next big update will bring back dual-wielding even, and mod packs have been restoring Halo 3 assets to replace the Halo 4 ones.

Arena is the only fun thing left in Halo besides custom games. But seeing as all my friends jumped the halo ship like everyone else, custom games don't happen. Unless I want to play with randoms but then whats the point of custom games....
