WELL WHAT ABOUT SHEPARD. SPACER. KILLED HIS OWN PARENTS.
Dunno, Space Rangers?
Space Rangers 2 is damn good for shady trader shenanigans in general.
Literally Elite Dangerous
Starsector
Black Market.
You spend the first part of X-Wing Alliance smuggling stuff. I know it's not the focus, but it's a fun game, and it's there.
ahahahah yessss
seconding this, fulltime smuggler
Elite Dangerous.
That game is driving me absolutely nuts though.
elite dangerous smuggling is cool
like, disabling every module of ship to be less detectable
X or elite if you're serious about space sim
rebel galaxy if you are a simpleton
Dont listen to anyone saying Elite Dangerous. The game is cuckolding in its purest form.
I liked Rebel Galaxy, but it was a bit too simple and console-like. Currently playing Starpoint Gemeni 2, but I'm feeling like its too restricted. And all ships are tiny as fuck no matter class. No sense of scale. You dont even see enemy ships during combat most of the time. While realistic, thats boring. You can smuggle if you want but its very bare bones.
I want a space game where your action have real consequences for the rest of space. I know the X games are kind of like that but they are just too cluttered and complicated. There has to be a balance.
FORGOT I HAD THIS GAME ON MY COMPUTER. THANKS ANONS. KEEP IT GOING THOUGH
>Space Rangers 2
I'm planning on playing this one at some point. Off topic, but does anyone remember another Eastern European game where you fly a ship and explore planets with aliens? I remember it being compared to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
>cuckolding
Summer will never be over.
Precursors.
Nice cuckpost
What makes one space flight/trading game good and another one bad?
I played Darkstar One, and that one was much maligned; sure every system was exactly the same (one planet, one giant asteroid with a ship upgrade in it, one space station), but the shooting was entirely functional. Freelancer is almost universally praised on Sup Forums, while Elite: Dangerous is really dividing, but Freelancer also has a lack of variety in things to do; you can trade stuff, you can get into dogfights, or you can accept missions, every single one of which requires you to get into more dogfights.
WHY ARE YOU YELLING
Star Wars Galaxies
Thanks mang
youre more of a faggot than a certified cock sucker.
Level scaling in case of Darkstar One.
To the point where when you're put into the (2nd?) turret section it might be entirely impossible to win because the turret doesn't scale but enemies do.
Hey at least a certified cock sucker has a certificate, this user sucks cocks below the required standard.
Not only is he a cock sucker, he does shoddy work too.
>What makes one space flight/trading game good and another one bad?
Well, there is multitude factors. The actual quality of the flight model, the complexity of the simulation etc, amount of variety and options you have etc...
For example, the reason why Elite is so divisive is because the game combines some of the BEST things ever done in a space sim ever with some incredibly frustrating and with some really scummy business models.
The flight model in Elite is arguably the best ever featured in any Space Sim game. So is the presentation - visuals, sound design, scope and scale. But at the same time, the hybrid online/off-line model is frustrating and pointless, the depth of the simulation is questionable and most of all, progress through that game is tied to model of involving so much annoying pointless grind and down-time that it's actually just driving many people up the walls. And that all combines to lack of features that were promised at the begining and arrogant money-extortion from loyal players for expansions.
I understand that Elite makes a lot of people mad, but you are still an idiot. Not because you warn people to be cautious around Elite, but because you literally cannot string together an argument without just spewing reddit tier memes all over the place. So fuck off until you actually learn to speak like a person.
Actually, I think the game you are looking for is Evochron.
Your wife has a son which is not yours
That's not even what "cuckold" means, you fucking idiot.
I really want to get into these types of space games, currently I've only played eve which im guessing is pretty different.
Whats a good one to start with?
I'm fine with retro stuff if need be
Tachyon: The Fringe
How do you even get anywhere in 2 with regards to combat?
The military/pirates/wingmen are useless since they shit their pants at the drop of a hat and you can only do so much alone.
I dont know about like stalker but there was a Russian game series called Parkan. its space sim/FPS.
Elite Dangerous is probably the best thing out there for smuggling.
Not that its fun.
>tfw there will never be a first-person starship life simulator
>tfw you will never get to choose your job at the start, where some of the more important jobs can also be boring/dangerous
>tfw you will never sort your crew yourself, their jobs and duties, nor plot courses and positioning as captain
>tfw you will never get to custom design your ship as captain, choosing between single-man designs up to 64-men cruisers
>tfw you will never transfer goods and other personnel/complete missions/mine asteroids/relay galactic orders/commit banditry around the galaxy, paying for protection fleets and/or funding your own
>tfw you will never have your military commanders nor even yourself sort out enemy fleets and boarders with whatever combat systems you've paid for
>tfw there will never be a persistent multiplayer side too
>tfw there's no dedicated traitors, but that doesn't stop people from doing it themselves, even being able to overthrow the original crew and become owners of the ship themselves
>tfw you and your crew of ai/players will never interact with other ships containing other players/ai

sounds like Pulsar to me, or to a lesser extend, Artemis.
