Post games god dammit
Oh, I'm sorry. I meant to post "hurr sony btfo XD" in the OP. Fuck this board.
final bump for recs
Uhm, that's pretty fucked up. You know millions of people died in WW2 right? You don't turn something like that into entertainment.
why are all devs such cancer now? gearbox used to be good and Randy pitchford used to not be a tryhard cunt
>gearbox used to be good
Gearbox used to be OK. Brothers in Arms were pretty good, not stellar, and that's the only worthwhile thing they've ever done.
We say this now, after having tons of them in the mid 2000's. But I do agree that I'm bored of all this sci-fi shooter that everyone is going to.
Try the Commandos series. Awesome stealth games.
mohaa: spearhead is literally band of brothers the video game and it was awesome
>three okay
>two okay
>one okay
>STICKS IN THE WIND STICKS IN THE WIND GO GO GO
BiA: Hell's Highway
pic very related
Yeah people say tons, but at this point there have been far more modern shooters than there have been ww2 shooters back then.
First Company of Heroes has my vote for GOAT voice acting.
>CoD 2
>MoH: Frontlines
>MoH: Airborne
>Return to Castle Wolfenstein
MoH before they went modern with it (still fucking mad)
Call of Duty before 4, you may include World at War but that focuses on Russia/Pacific.
Company of Heroes
Brothers in Arms for squad stuff
Day of Infamy for multiplayer stuff, based off an Insurgency mod.
still waiting for a WW2 game to be made today that includes a d day level, closest I've gotten to that is day of infamy
i really wish functional suppression mechanics caught on
I only ever played the demo, but I got all 3 games sitting around my wishlist. Have to buy them on sale sometime.
Also have Company of Heroes 1 + Addon installed, but haven't played it yet.
watch Generation War. it's... well I'd say it's equally good, but it's wider in scope
>you may include World at War but that focuses on Russia/Pacific.
How does that make it any less of a WWII game?
Gary Grigsby's War in the East and Red Orchestra 2.
Remember when everyone used to say there are too many world war 2 shooters when there were only two oc them on the market.
This. The german tank crews in open topped vehicles bitching about rain are priceless. Also the Volksgrenadier squad leader.
Company of Heroes
and tie your fucking laces
Everyone says that CoD4 breathed new life in the shooter genre by featuring a modern setting when games such as Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and SOCOM have been out and have had several entries each for close to a decade at the time of its release.
My dad got me this game with a ps2. It was the only game I had for it for years because poor and I played the ever loving shit out of it.
Made when EA was staffed by humans. The score was God tier and watching the dev diaries where they wear stahlhelms and throw bananas at each other was best.
My m8 got it and we played it for the first time together
We thought we were on those fuggin beaches man
This game on the NGC has a special place in my memories. It was probably the first WWII game I actually played.
>tfw no ww2 shooter focused on axis
>closest you can get is ro2 multiplayer
hey now, Opposing Force is great
that's about the only other thing I can praise them for
you can try wolfenstein
THE AXIS POWERS ARE EVIL!
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is fucking great for an abandoned freeware game
Good luck finding a server without all the shitty useless mods and custom maps that ruin the game
That one where you sPART AR TREWPS and MURRICA
Soldiers: Heroes of WWII was fun
...
CAMPBELL! I NEED YOU OVER THERE!
...
This was actually terrible though. Nowhere near as good as Allied Assault.
...
CoD2
Hill 400 is probably the best Cod mission ever.
my nigga
>that last mission
fucking legendary
also they ruined the COD franchise when they got rid of health packs
>tfw UO was the high point of the series
How the fuck can a series go this backwards?
...
gearbox's last good game RIP
Medal of honor rising sun will always be a favorite of mine. That opening pearl harbor level is great and the fact you can do the entire campaign split screen makes it all the better. Played through that shit a dozen times with my grandmother's husband. Learned some of my first racial slurs from him playing it as well such as "zipper heads", "slant eyes", and "gook".
kek
...
would people play an axis oriented game?
yes
OP here. Playing some original Medal of Honor. Holds up not too bad. It's playable and even pretty fun in a super simplistic way. Animations, sound and music are still great. And they even have 5 control schemes, one of which is legit modern fps "left stick is movement, right is looking, L2 for ads and R2 for firing."
Gonna finish it, then the sequel, brothers in arms 1 2 and 3, and maybe cod WaW too. I'm not big into RTS's but I'll check out CoH since I have it on Steam.
CoH campaign is GOAT.
...
yes but it will never be made because half the gamplay would be executing jewish families and dumping the bodies in mass graves
WHAT GAME IS THIS
Billions of Jews died in Auschwitz, and people use it as an excuse for everything all the time. They even talk about it in schools, and we all know kids don't give a shit.
Day of Infamy is pretty good, I think it's dtill in early access but it's nice.
The last good WW2 FPS I can remember is MoH Airborne. WaW was okay but looking back it just feels super wacky, almost like Battlefield 1 but for WW2.
>Billions of Jews died in Auschwitz
you mean trillions, right?
>Billions
I've been getting into Insurgency. It's fairly one-note though and I'm worried DoI is the same.
Hidden and dangerous 2, great thing.
im making one right now but its just about using lmgs with some features like barrel changing, cleaning and un-jamming. dunno if people would enjoy it but its a game i would play
Not enough at any rate, seeing as so many survived to this day.
>the great escape
my only memory of this game is that my friend used the box to smuggle san andreas to my house when he came to stay
Rising Storm
youtu.be
Battle for Castle Itter game when?
lmao how do people take this seriously
>those blowjob sounds as they "choke on their own blood"
Airborne was shit though, just EA testing the gun sound acoustic engine that later went on to be a staple of the Battlefield games.
Six missions, stupid arcadey upgrade system, and lame storytelling. MoH went into decline after Rising Sun, which to this day had a huge sequel tease that amounted to nothing. Still mad.
>even if there's another war remotely as good as WW2 in your lifetime you will never live long enough to see it transformed into vidya
feels bad
Why are there so few games that look at resistance movements during WW2? It wasn't just the French that had an active resistance, the Dutch were busy, too, especially when trying to prepare for (and then salvage) Market Garden. There was a lot more to WW2 than beach landings, dogfighting, and tank combat
Oprotten, Johan.
The Saboteur was Pandemic's last game and an awesome one that dealt with the French resistance. I just wish you played as a French person instead of an Irish.
The sound of the mortars
The music of death
We’re playing the devils symphony
Our violins are guns conducted from hell
>We'll never get a sequel set during the Battle of the Bulge
Fuck it all
BUT YOU WILL GET A SEQUEL IN THE FORM OF A BORDERLANDS RIP OFF WHERE YOU AND 3 OF YOUR ZANY FRIENDS FIGHT OFF AGAINST THE EBIL NAZIS!!!! (booing intensifies)
>DUDE TANKS LMAO
Pretty much what this second game was.
Still absolutely love this series and pissed we'll never see Baker's story finished.
that iconic score though
youtube.com
I'd rather it be a dead series than turn into that
watch band of brothers it's literally the exact same story
I think meant this one.
youtube.com
That too but after the drop always stuck out. I played that mission the most when I was younger because it wasn't too difficult and I enjoyed Barnes
You bet your ass I have. I'd love to be the actual Winters. Even if he was a Quaker.
CORRION! PUT SOME FIRE ON THOSE BASTARDS!
Corrion should have gotten that promotion. Fuck you Baker
Joe, he doesn't even drink.
...
...
>Guy on the right has a zeltbahn on his back in woodland ERDL
I sometimes wonder if the modelers/texture artists of some companies are retarded
So many hours lost with BF 1942 I can't believe it
>yes but it will never be made because half the gamplay would be executing jewish families and dumping the bodies in mass graves
I'd pay to play that
>BiA canned for Battleborn
Yes I'm fucking mad
It was a shitty Borderlands knockoff where you had to assassinate Hitler after fighting through Germany by yourself. Be happy that abomination got canceled.
Fuck yea. Generation War: The Video Game would be great.
>Generation war
>Good
I want a GOOD Axis WWII game, not some apologetic cuck German shit with a cast of young Germans who somehow all hate NSDAP and have a token Jewish friend and the true antagonists of the game are big skinhead SS brutes.
Un-fucking-believable
the game will be about patriotic germans AND other people from different nations working together defending from normandy to berlin.
NO apologists in my game(bonus levels where you attack allied powers capitols)
everytime i bring the idea of playing as WW2 germany its always the cuck shit
>DUDE HAVE HIM DEFECT
>YOU MEAN LIKE HE BECOMES A TRATOR AND KILLS NAZIS RIGHT?
>HE SAVE JEWS TOO RIGHT?
always something about him defecting and helping the allies, never how he rises through the ranks then leaves for argentina/antartica secret bases, even when playing as axis they want to be playing as the allies
