Rayman 1's great, awesome art and music as well as tight controls and good momentum, but it'll kick your ass if you're not prepared. It's definitely worth a try, just look up the extra lives cheat if you really need it. IMO it has a way better atomsphere and way better gameplay than 2/3. 2 is mindlessly easy.
