>prove that your client is not the murderer
>have to prove who actually did it or you still get a guilty verdict
Prove that your client is not the murderer

Dual Destinies does kind of get around this in case 5.
Amazing how different court systems work huh bud?
No court system in real life is retarded enough to operate on such a principle. It'd basically be a human rights violation.
>Guilty until proven innocent in any civilized nation
There's no universally agreed on definition of which rights are immutable and which aren't. Every society has its own priorities. To the Jappos, clean, safe streets and the appearance of order are more important than individual injustices.
This isn't even that. He DID prove himself innocent, but he's still arbitrarily not innocent until they find another perp.
But there is, not officially stated of course.
Who said anything about civilized, it's just the way it works. Both the China and Japan are basically this way. If it makes it to trial, chances are you're getting convicted no matter what. Some sources say up to 97% of the time.
Then there's countries with full blown dictatorships.
Japanese courts have a problem with corrupt prosecution and turning blind eyes to unjust tactics but they're not openly allowing guilty people to go to jail just because the defense can't prove who is actually responsible for the crime the defendant is accused of.
Where would the fun be?
>OMG Sup Forums I WAS PLAYING A VIDEO GAME AND IT DIDN'T OPERATE EXACTLY LIKE REAL LIFE
So it's basically just guilty until you prove someone else guilty. What a backwards justice system
IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO
JUST HAVIN' A GIGGLE M8
I'm stuck. I'm on case 2, the first investigation, and the only task I have left is to return Trucy's notebook to her, but she's not showing up in the Detention Center.
There's no other tasks on the list to do.
Please help
Did you investigate everywhere and meet Bonny?
I haven't spoken to Bonny, no. I did fully investigate the stage. Guess I could try investigating the dress room some more
Did you see the trapdoor to the abyss, the staircase to it at the back, and examine the rafters?
I've never played Phoenix Wright games. What are they like? Like point and click or puzzle games? Are there ones I could emulate?
Yes and yes
You can emulate all the DS ones fine (they work well on phone emulators too)
>case 2
Awesome. Thanks bro. I needed something chill to play.
I really felt they could've used the thought route thing at least three times in there
Both reveals on the witnesses were really well done though
Have fun dude
Just be aware that in these threads everything except the most recent game doesn't get spoilered any more
there is literally no justice system in the world that does this, because it would be completely retarded
They aren't exactly puzzle games. Still great for cuddling up in a blanket and getting comfy though.
There were so many curve balls in that case
TWINS
IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO
HE WAS NEVER DEAD
HE WAS STABBED FROM THE CUSHION
>rdj
Holy fuck, he is.
I really liked the murder method - is that the first time the series has done a mechanical remote murder from a distance? The closest I can think of is 4-4, where the stamp poisoned the victim years and years after.
>go around crime scene looking at evidences and talking to witness
>trial starts, you have to prove witnesses wrong/lying using the evidences
Yes, it is a puzzle game, though not like the traditional ones
Why is Ace Attorney 6 so shit?
Because you keep saying it is.
I don't know man, your own jadedness? I'm enjoyed it so far
W-What did she have?
the game doesn't show, only athena saw it
diapers
>Toadstools ??????
>It's big and black! You can't miss it!
This is the first time I got a Phoenix Wright game right on launch. Feels comfy, bros.
Welcome to the Japanese justice system
Should I become a lawyer in Japan in order to stop the evil, unfair court system and deliver justice?
Magic dildos
Yes, those poor japs near white American guidance to see the flaws in their system. Teach them the wisdom of western justice
Japan literally does this. It has a conviction rate of 99% and if you're the most likely, then you'll be arrested regardless of any proof you didn't actually commit a crime. Someone will always be convicted.
What the FUCK
WOW
Am I forgetting something here? Stepladder argument? What?
are you for real
I am, so care to explain, or is that gif it?
it's THE main running gag throughout the entire series
Okay, so somehow I either completely missed or forgot about it, could you PLEASE just explain without me having to ask again, or shall I just google this shit myself?
Keep in mind that Maya is a shit and Iris is best so I might have just not cared to notice initially.
google it you fucking retard. good lord.
Yea, just did, figured that'd be more expedient.
I guess I completely failed to notice since I played all these games years apart, not to mention years ago.
>When the villains make it personal
I know people are complaining there are too many familiar characters on trial other than unrelated clients, but I was PUMPED to get to the courtroom. The investigation segment felt long as fuck.
It's a pretty basic and incredibly well known part of the game. He wasn't wrong to call you out, but on the flipside he was being a cunt so its not like he's any better.
so fuck him, but c'mon son, it'd be like not knowing phoenix points and things and yells objection. My reaction was pretty incredulous too.
Rate Case 1 and Case 2
Case 1 - 8/10
Case 2 - dunno, only on investigation still
>Coming to a thread having not completed the game.
FUCKING RUN YOU MORON.
This cheeky cunt
everyone is around the same point dude, just look at the thread
Case 1 - 7/10, kind of lame plot saved by fun characters and a genuinely different-feeling court
Case 2: 8/10, a fucking crazy ride with very entertaining characters and an insane court section
That smug face.
I'm pretty excited. Almost done with the first investigation in case 2.
I want to penis in vagina her.
>I bet you are wondering how I got here. Well it all started with that Barb headed Lawyer.
Case 1 - 7.5/10 Gave it half a point just for Metal Jesus
Case 2 - 8.5/10 I'M GONNA TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE
Every fucking day. Every single fucking day when i come home this little faggot just sits there and gives me this stupid look on his face.
I want to _____Adopt ___ her.
FUCKING DELETE THIS
I'm in love with Athena!
Welcome to Japan court system. Also Mexico 4 years ago.
Go away, me.
>have to fap atleast twice a case because of her
is the new one better than Dual Destinies? I didn't like that one at all
I want her to psychologically interrogate my penis
magic panties
>tfw still only up to Dual Destinies
Better, but still not very good.
Has anyone here ever watched the old 50's show Perry Mason?
I happened to watch a couple of episodes the other day and holy shit this show is exactly like ace attorney.
A defence attorney who wins every case, every client is innocent, starts with an investigation section followed by the court part, every case is a murder, the real murderer always frames the client, prosecution always attacks for every little statement.
Shit it even has a young female sidekick, an experienced detective who help out, and a rival prosecutor. The only thing it's missing are traditional American kotetsus.
Did AA purposely copy this show or something?
>you will never be executed by your 14 year old mistress
I want to get executed by getting stomped on by Rayfa
Would Athena be a good girlfriend?
It'd be like dating a Psychiatrist on steroids.
She's emo so no.
Posting best music:
god damn case 3 is so fucking boring, esp after hippie metal jesus and the wild ride prank bro
>the witness clearly bears ill will towars the defendant
>this murder prank script doesn't count
>this contract of 3 million dollars if something went wrong during the show doesn't count
>this clipboard with carbon paper in it is proof
>now let me show you this contract first
theyre at least aware of it, they named the time travel simulation thingimajigger in AJ after it
I'm stuck on the Insight in case 3. I managed to have the Sight refined, but I have no idea on how to proceed now
case 1 spoilers but why the fuck was paht rol taking an empty treasure box with him if he'd already forced it open and seen that the orb was missing?
water sound when she talks about footsteps
>mfw the baddie in case three starts to break
That's one sexy woman.
Because the box is valuable as well.
In Mexico you literally are fucking guilty until proven otherwise.
>last living magician of the gramarye trope
Gee i wonder who dies in this case.
>all that time arguing trucy killed that guy
>autopsy says he was stabbed from the back while she is recorded to slide the sword from the side during the show
It bugs me that it wasn't brought up during the trial
not who you think
lol
He could have turned in the box. Never mind the fact he's a trained magician who knows not to do that.
but he could have twisted around inside the coffin!
However, this logic stops aplying once you claim the sides have been flipped and how his fingerprints are on backwards.
>>this clipboard with carbon paper in it is proof
>>now let me show you this contract first
What the shit. I presented the clipboard but assumed it was one of those situations where showing either the contract or clipboard counted. Hell, I thought the contract was the priority piece of evidence since it shows it first and I just fucked up.
no you get a penality for everything but the clipboard
>No one ever asks Trucy if she felt any resistance when she stabbed the coffin.
>nor wonder why they didn't hear any screams when she stabbed the coffin
>Or ask if the sword was bloodied when she removed it
Not that they would have believed her but some of the audience would have noticed shit like that.
