>consoles still can't do AF
I can't be the only one bothered by this
>it isn't 4k, it's 2x resolution + AA
>still not 30fps
>have to PAY for Pro versions of games
>can't play 4k blurays
>existing and future MP games won't run any better on Pro compared to old PS4 because of parity
>vast majority of existing games won't get updates
>future games won't all use the upscaling
Is this sarcasm?
because that HDR on ps4 pro looks amazing
...
>it isn't 4k, it's 2x resolution + AA
What?
Explain to a retard what that means
You have been able to force infinite configurations of HDR on PC for over a decade.
They render the game at 1080p x 2, overlap them at an off-set, then use a temporal anti-aliasing technique to double the image.
Basically every second and third pixel are blurry as fuck while the first and second pixels are clear.
It's just upscaling to 4k, games are being rendered close to 1440p.
it isnt 4k because they would need more than 2x (double) the resolution for that in games, + anti aliasing (AA) having a higher multiplier so the measly double resolution looks better. this way the people retarded enough to buy this thinks its 4k when its actually far from it
A computer can do 100000++ various tasks, can be upgraded, fixed manually and whatnot.
>Hey, why not make one that ONLY PLAYS GAMES?!
>Yeah, and then we make devs to make exclusive games for it so people will have a reason to buy it!
>Sounds a good idea Mr.Shekelson!
And so Consoles were born.
I just buy a controller and connect my PC to my TV.
Its a console in every aspect except the shilling.
Fucking lol
You know HDR has been around for PC games for at the very least 8 years right? Probably more. HL2: Lost Coast is the first time I remember seeing it.
Why PS4 Pro version doesn't have volumetric lights?
It's weird people are trying to compare the PS4P's "4k" with actual PC 4k and then bringing in the price of a high end PC for actual 4K.
There's nothing stopping you from upscaling and reaching similar results with lower end hardware, for a LOT cheaper than a 1080ti.
And games on PC(Quantum Break and Rainbow Six: Siege) are already doing things similar to checkboard upscaling too.
So you're back to square one. It's not PS4P 4K vs PC GTX 1080 + i7 @ 4K.
It's PS4P "4K" vs equivalent PC @ 4k (likely an i3-i5 + GTX 960.
I think the PS4 is great bargain because a 480 + i3-i5 is probably going to run you more than the $450 (PS4P + subscription) but then there's also a lot other pluses to PC gaming outside of the downside of upfront cost. Like thousands of free games, mods, and free online.
because >consoles
>i3-i5 + GTX 960.
as a proud owner of the sensible "lower end" spec PC, I can tell you to eat shit and die you thieving lying merchant.
>sonycucks think HDR is new tech
no wonder sony manages to get away with anything, including paid online.
I'm not lying. Your card can play many games at medium-low settings at 1440p.
Who's that?
Took this yesterday in uncompressed PNG while on my third run, the never asked for this difficulty, already have foxy
Ps4 can render some pretty nice scenes, even if they're mostly graphical tricks
That's fake HDR. Real HDR is a display technology and can't be seen if your monitor isn't HDR-capable.
There's no difference
>That's fake HDR. Real HDR is a display technology and can't be seen if your monitor isn't HDR-capable.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
can't you turn off the shitty sharpen filter on the PS4 version?
Another interesting trick the ps4 does for maintaining low usage of ram is variable fps of far objects, this is very noticeable in Bloodborne because its dynamic, ie when the game stresses the system further enemies go into this 5fps animation mode. In DEMD the fps to distance ratio always remains the same so its less noticeable but NPCs move around at this weird 20ish fps that blends into itself
No
Isn't that like interlacing
>those blurry jaggies
holy shit I've seen them before in the Spiderman 4K footage
this is fucking horrible
4k my fucking ass
if I put on old 3D glasses do I see those jaggies in 3D?
yes
it's a feautre
>tfw you can look at the 3D jaggies in VR
Consoles actually DID have a reason to exist before, back when there wasn't even a standardized PC format and companies had to develop their own hardware. This is also why exclusives had a reason to exist, because porting to machines that were radically different was costly and had mixed results (just look at the British home PC market).
The problem lies with taking those ideas, into the modern era, when the hardware for any given task is a set in stone standard. The modern consoles all use the same architecture, and use similar hardware because they have to sell at similar price points; engines are made with porting in mind so the costs are almost negligible. The idea of consoles and exclusives for those consoles are entirely relics, and the only reason they're still standing despite giving such dire results is kike/yellow-kike handrubbing.
that's not the same thing he's talking about you dummy
