Everytime you get baited into visiting a "journalism" site, you are inadvertently giving pennies. Even with ad-blockers installed, the company uses visitor statistics to maintain relationships with their advertisers. Windows operating systems have a feature called the "hosts file" that will let you block these websites.

>The Windows Hosts file allows you to define which websites are linked to which IP addresses.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_(file)

Here is how to use it

Notepad
Open with admin privileges.

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
This is where your Hosts file is located. Open "hosts" (does not have an extension) with Notepad. If you utilize Spybot - Search & Destroy, you will see a very long list of unsafe domains already entered here. For your convenience, enter the following lines in at the top:

Spacing DOES matter in your host file, so ensure it looks like the example that is already in there. Some similar, clickbait-modelled sites to consider adding:

Save the file. The "Save As" dialog box will appear. Save this as "hosts_new".

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
1) Back in your \etc\ folder, rename your previous "hosts" file to "hosts_backup".
2) Rename the newly created file, "hosts_new.txt" to "hosts"

Congrats, no more accidentally giving pennies and view counts. Chances are, this post will be replied to by a "journalist" from an exGawker employee. If unsure, please do your own research.

There's no way PS Pro is going to do well.

This and VR will destroy them.

Hey Brian Ashcraft,
Were you able to go home early today? Quota done for the day?

Anyone else remember when cross-gen games allowed you to "upgrade"?

Anyone remember when you had to buy the same Virtual Console games again if you wanted to use them on the Wii U?

This has all happened before.

Thanks, senpai
I was searching for this to fuck with my sister computer lol

I'm not a sonygger, I'm a Nintendbabies. In other words I'm old enough to remember a lot of instances of when this happened before. And if wee were to point our collective rage at those making these decisions rather than each other we might actually change something, but Sup Forums proves that will never happen.

Nice, I'll update my list to a pastebin or something.

why do i care? its free idiot. wait until journalism sites actually start charging you money to view their shit. new york times already started doing that shit and its all your fault

You are right and I agree. Could do without that picture tho'

>paid patches

I love consoles.

I'd prefer that. If you're using something for free you're probably the product.

why bother posting?

Sorry bout that :(

That's because they're not patches, that's a lie. These things, whatever they want to call them are going to be a massive bundle of game assets, like almost a whole games worth. This isn't an update, it's a disguised upgrade because they don't people to think there's going to be pro-specific games, or even versions of games.

uh no, they get paid by advertisers. like you know, every other fucking thing on the internet thats free.

And what are the advertisers paying for? Us. These site are just platforms for selling us to advertisers.

That's not true at all, dipshit. They collect your personal info. There's no advertising involved. Haven't you ever watched a Bourne movie?

ur a retart. there paying 4 the abilitee 2 show u adverts.

There is no fucking excuse for being this fucking innocent in this day and age.

The mad thing is that this is actually more valuable and most sites are giving it away for free every time they have a share button. Then this can be sold by the likes of Facebook to advertisers and marketing companies.

These people should be jailed for willfully being a public health hazard.

Old and debunked, bro, you can go back to your cuck shed now.
