What can change the nature of a man, Sup Forums?

Nothing can change the nature of a man, Ravel.

fuck rpg codex

Lie.

Regret

17. Absolute Truth: "The Dick."

what's a ravel

DANG DIRTY TROLLS

A beautiful woman, Ravel. As you changed me.

Is Chris Chan the genuine example of what changes the nature of a man? I mean surely no man has changed more, the only scary thing is what changed him.

Wonder what Numenara will have as a dialogue choice mid game.

"What can change the gender of a man?"
1.
2.
[...] Nothing can change the gender of a man.

>hey chris, tomboy girls will go for a tomgirl man!
And now he's a mutant with a decaying wound between his balls and butthole.

There's really only one answer to this question. The Planes That answer pretty much encompasses every circumstance and emotion that could change the nature of a man, because it's such a general statement. While all answers could be correct, this is the only answer that takes into account that every person is different. Some people might not change because of love, some people could change because of regret, others might not. When answering with "The Planes" however, you can take every event and attach it to every single person.

FUCK RPG CODEX

Well, considering that is the first choice you make. Doubtful.

In a manner of speaking. I consider that 15(nothing can change the nature of a man) is the correct answer since the nature of a man is set by fate, but you could arguably make the statement that the planes are fate itself.

Your nature isn't your alignment(or worldview). Your alignment(and its change in time) is a result of your nature.

Nothing

Yeah, you've got a point. I was going to add that one as well, but I couldn't justify including it when my previous answer has a limitless combination of possibilites, but when you look at it like the nature of a man is completely decided by fate, and is not a random unpredicted mess of action and reaction, then nothing could change it.

Y'all saying nothing can change the nature of a man are wrong. Think of i.e people traumatized by war or people who have lost their family in some horrible fashion, it can and will change a person.

Belief. Literally belief shapes the planes, so I guess it also applies to what men are or can be.

We are entering into philosophical areas here, but it basically boils down to your stance on determinism and free will, plus how you perceive them within the setting of the game.

If fate exists, then it was fate that makes a person change; ergo it was not their nature that changed, but it was in their nature to change.

Same thing in real life. We are all a product of nature(genetics) and nurture(environment). We have the illusion of free will, but all our thoughts and actions have been determined from the very beginning of time through the interaction of the different elements that form reality. It is physically impossible for us to learn how every particle(atomic, subatomic and beyond) is interacting, but their interactions represent an ultimate order within the chaos that we perceive. So all that we are left with is to define nature.

tl;dr consciousness is merely an attempt to contextualize the ineffable complexity of the universe and has no bearing on how the universe unfolds

>you hear about all sort of unique plans and places in bar
>never visit them in the game
Planescape is fucking overrated trash.

Literally Tutorial Village: The Game. And that's praise, it's basically an interactive instruction manual to some tabletop garbage.

Cool writing though.

BETRAYAL

The point of the game is not to go on an epic adventure and shit, it's personal discovery mystery novel in interactive vidya form. Treat it like a detective game.

This.

> fate is inescapable
> everyone is just playing out their fateful roles

if god exists then fate is a lie

more importantly, what IS the nature of man?

Literally Sup Forums

>if god exists
If God exists, he is either above creation or the consciousness of all of creation. Either way, 'fate' still exists.

And when it comes to the Abrahamic God in particular, free will simply cannot exist in the context of an omniscient creator since he would be aware of the determinism within his own creation.

Morte's story is very tragic. I couldn't make myself take the evil path in regards to him(whether in treating him like shit as /that/ previous incarnation or abandoning him in pic related).

>Kill people
>Waaaah I can't believe I ended up in hell

just like you how "think" fate trumps and encompasses all aspects of life, matter, energy and the universe, so to does god trump everything in existence both known and unknown and immaterial

god gave people free will so that they could use it to their own ends including their desire to make bombs out of the lemons life gives them

>Morte, also trying to atone for his actions, directed him to the Gray Waste, where he would find the night hag, Ravel Puzzlewell.
He was despicable, but not /evil/.

God gave people the illusion of free will. Or, if you want, free will exists only within human perception.

hey man you want to believe that some people are born solely to sow evil towards their fellow man, then go right ahead

everyone has the choice to pull the trigger or not

In the absence of willpower, regret is thematically the best chouce.

Choice is an illusion. It is their fate to be evil, just as it is our fate to fight evil. Impassionately do what is just. Or something like that.

Again, you are equating nature to alignment/morality. I am not saying that people are born to be evil or good, but that their actions and thoughts have been decided even before their birth. Nobody is simply good or evil.

Love gives you extra exp doesn't it. So im picking that.

Also because i want to kiss Ravel on these sweet lips

I'm not answering until you give it to me in the form of a dialogue wheel with a snarky answer.
