Because he could communicate with Sin in some way.
To get Tidus.
Because Sin protects it.
Talent.
He's secretly a foreigner.
He probably doesn't even know they're Al Bhed eyes.
Because he's dumb.
Gameplay.
Gameplay.
One of the many holes.
That was only in the American release.
Probably pays people to take him places.
Because race loyalty or something.
Nobody knew.
Yes.

Fuck Chocobo racing
And
Better to be dead than Al Bhed

>>How did Auron find Dream Zanarkand? I know he rode Sin, but how did he know Sin would get there?
He could understand Sin, you see at the start he's trying to rescue Tidus until Sin lets him know that he wants Tidus to go to Spira
>>Why did Sin go to Dream Zanarkand when it had never been there before (since Tidus doesn't recognize it)? And since Auron wasn't there consistently, it must have gone there multiple times in just the short period of time between Tidus' childhood and adulthood
He's drawn to Tidus somehow, he always pops up around him in Spira, it likely took him a very long time to find Dream Zanarkand in the first place given he was searching for Tidus everywhere, causing destruction, until he got to DZ
>>Why did no one ever find Dream Zanarkand before Auron? Spira consists mainly of ocean-faring people, so boats and sea exploration are important to them
Sin kills them, whereas he transports himself/Auron/Tidus
>>Why do the Aurochs suck so much? Why is Brother, a completely random guy from a desert-dwelling people, such a good blitzball player?
Comic relief, and Brother is obviously a player, I mean the Al Bhed had their own team anyway
>>Why does Wakka have a different accent from everyone else in Besaid? It's a tiny village
He travelled in his youth with his brother

>>Why does Wakka never notice Rikku's eyes? I understand he wasn't looking for signs of the Al Bhed but he still would casually look at her all the time
He likely just didn't know what to look for to identify an Al Bhed, it's not as simple as looking for a skin colour or a burka
>>Why does Khimari attack Tidus at the beginning of the game?
He seen he was going to be travelling with Yuna and wanted to test him, or assert dominence
>>Why is Auron only comparable to your party when he joins? He should be maxed out at the beginning
Video games dictate that cutscene/lore strength is not comparable to gameplay strength
>>Why is Seymour so weak against that one Sinspawn where he's playable? He can summon Anima and do all kinds of crazy shit later in the game
As above, although I don't understand why they didn't let us summon a nerfed Anima
>>Where does Yuna hide her giant staff during the wedding so she can pull it out later?
In her plothole
>>During the wedding, clapping is heard, but the only spectators are religious guards busy pointing guns at Tidus. Did they stop pointing guns, clap, and then point the guns again?
Oversight

>>How does Maechan get around Spira? It's dangerous and he's an old man with no combat abilities. Don't say being Unsent gives him some power, because Auron has to attack just like you do
The unsent, unless they want to be seen, can dissipate in to pyreflies
>>Why do the Guado guards keep helping Seymour after he announces his plans to destroy all life?
The Guado have delusions of grandeur, and they likely believed that when Seymour announced his plan that he secretely meant "All life except my Guado brothers"
>>Why has no one noticed that Mika, the leader of the Church, is a zillion years old and doesn't age? Same question for all of the Unsent in prominent positions other than Seymour
He wasn't in the public eye much and was old as fuck. It's unknown the length of time he was in charch of the church
>>Chocobo racing
Legitimately the worst part of the game

Either Chocobo racing was made easier in the rerelease, or it's much easier than I remembered. I replayed FFX on the PC recently and I got 0 seconds in about 5 tries.
Just get as many balloons as possible and don't get hit more than 3 times.

Did op get btfo or what?

So if Tidus is a dream fayth and Jecht is his father, is he also a dream fayth?

How the fuck did he get to Spira in the first place to travel around with Auron and Braska? The family had to exist in some form as Jecht left behind recordings for Tidus to find.

Sin.

Everyone from Spira was real at some point, but the current Jecht and Tidus are dreams.

The Sin that attacked Zanarkand was Jecht, he wanted Tidus to defeat him and join him in the farplane. Auron was helping Jecht get Tidus.

Braska, Jecht and Auron were real before they fought Sin

But wasn't dream Zanarkand only created at the end of the machina war as a method to preserve the last bit of their culture?

I mean shit it was made a thousand years ago, but then again Tidus could see his mother in the farplane.

Fuck it now I'm even more confused...

There's no dream Zanarkand. there's only Zanarkand before Sin attacked and the future Zanarkand 1000 years later where Tidus spawns as a dream.

did no nobody mention Sin is Jecht?

Wow, those are some nice cherries you picked.
Zanarkand was sacrificed to create Sin and the dream world. All the residents reincarnated from the souls sacrificed to create it.

Yes there is. Dream Zanarkand was placed at the bottom of the ocean.
The real zanarkand is the ruins you visit.

The thing I'm most confused on is:

Why the fuck couldn't the fayth continue just summoning Tidus for one lifetime after they finished Yu Yevon off?

They kept Dream Zanarkand and it's entire populace summoned for more than centuries, and were going to continue doing so, and they couldn't take shifts to keep just the one single person from Zanarkand that cut their work load by 99.99%?

>Zanarkand was sacrificed to create Sin and the dream world.

Where did you get that from?

Yu Yevon created Dream Zanarkand, and then created Sin to protect it.

There's a simple explanation for everything bredda
Those dirty Al Bhed are responsible for everything

Maechan. I think that info is in X2.

I never played FF10. Is it worth it?

I don't think they could continue dreaming after Yevon died.

So you're saying Tidus and Zanarkand never existed? He just appears into the real world which is 1000 years after?

If Zanarkand was a dream why are there ruins 1000 years later?

Oh, you meant Yu Yevon destroyed Zanarkand.

Well it's not really sacrificing if they were going to die anyway and he preserved it.

I believe Tidus and everyone in Zanarkand are reincarnated souls from 1000 years ago.
Yes. And X2.

The Zanarkand you see at the beginning is the city that was at the location of the ruins 1000 years ago. It was real.

Why not? Yu Yevon was obviously forcing most of them to summon, but there were a few fayth that aren't related to summoning Zanarkand at all, even without Yu Yevon's involvement.

They did all that work on their own for over 1000 years, but couldn't continue it for like 40 years more for a single person instead of an entire city, because they decided they were too tired and ungrateful shits.

Read up on the wiki about your 2nd question.

They say the while Sin was looking around the world for Al Bhed cities, it happened to draw near Dream Zanarkand (which is in the middle of the sea) and its instincts overwhelmed it which is why it attacked the thing it was supposed to be protecting. It was pure chance that this all happened, really, but some of the other stuff the anons are saying could have influenced it but I never read about anything they are saying like Auron pseudo-guiding it or whatever.

It's a pretty lame explanation, but I didn't write this stuff.

do it, you will thank me later

>I believe Tidus and everyone in Zanarkand are reincarnated souls from 1000 years ago.
They are not reincarnated souls.

I don't know, if I was forced to do something for 1000 years I'd be glad I could quit.

The souls were bound in an eternal dream. They just wanted it to end friendo.
Was that not one of the reasons why Tidus was reskinned Shuyin? Maybe reincarnated was the wrong word. The dream versions were once real people though...

Nigga you are trying to nitpick shit that makes sense if you play the game

That can't be, Tidus was brought 1000 years into the future by Jecht who was Sin. Zanarkand existed but was destroyed by Sin because it's people were too into machina. Bascically Jecht took Tidus into the future. So there's only one Zanarkand, both when Tidus was still real and 1000 years later when Tidus spawns.

Yes, it's an amazing JRPG, but get ready for mediocre voice acting and awkward dialogue

I'm surprised Wakka's lines in the Remaster weren't changed. He's like a miniature KKK of Spira.

Aside from Yuna the voice acting really isn't bad, especially compared to other games of its time.

>Was that not one of the reasons why Tidus was reskinned Shuyin? Maybe reincarnated was the wrong word. The dream versions were once real people though...

Dream Zanarkand was created after Shuyin died. So if anything Tidus is a descendant of a dream version based on Shuyin.

I don't think anyone is going to get offended by racism against a fictional race.

Actually I got banned once for calling for a race war against the Al-Bhed.

No. There was no time travel. Zanarkand was in a dream realm, isolated. Which is why Tidus, who would have been alive during the war with Bevelle, 1000 years ago, knows nothing of Spira or the war. The Zanarkand he lived in wasn't the Zanarkand that was destroyed.
That's what I was trying to say.

Shuyin is totally another person

Sin took Tidus into the future, play the game

No he didn't.

>changing based Wakka's lines

I've beaten the game like 9 times, the story isn't hard to grasp. newfags.

No he didn't.

and you need to play the whole game

You're saying Tidus was from another universe?

>>How did Auron find Dream Zanarkand? I know he rode Sin, but how did he know Sin would get there?

Dream Zanarkand is INSIDE Sin. You fight Braska's Final Aeon in the ruins of the Blitzball stadium from the start.

Okay, have fun.

He could talk with jecht most likely
To bring tidus to spira
It could have just stayed in the ocean to drop auron off
Sin protected dream zanarkand its why it attacked technology its so dream zanarkand wouldnt be found
Natural talent? The al bhed do deep sea dives the first time you meet them so they can swim and bikanel wasnt the original place they lived
Most al bhed wear goggles so he might not know about the swirls
To test his worth
Gameplay reasons game stats dont translate to story
Hes not really weak since he can solo it but again gameplay reasons
Descartes.jpg
I honestly dont know maybe more of bevelle was watching below they did sound bells off iirc
Hes unsent and doeant have to worry about things hurting him
Guado arw fucking retarded they even knew he killed the previous leader/his father
Because thata disrespectful i dont remember them giving a year on mikas age but could be wrong
Yes and?

No, he's a ghost from Atlantis.

I'm pretty sure that's just over the top JRPG final dungeon stuff.
It's near Baaj Temple from the beginning.

Then why is it that when Yu Yevon was destroyed, the one that created and maintained the fayth dream & existence, Tidus disappear with the fayth?
No time travel user.

Doesn't it make more sense if Tidus was brought 1000 years into the future?

They are as real as aeons
Dream zanarkand and all its people are effectively one large aeon that the dead of zanarkand are summoning until the end of the game

>That was only in the American release.

You can see other parts of Zanarkand in the earlier parts of the dungeon. Like the part where you have to didge the Crystals and shit.

No.

No. Because the Bahamut fayth tells Tidus he's a dream, just like he and the rest of the fayth are.

Tidus never really existed after Sin took him into the future. Wasn't he a dream of the fayth?

Tidus is an Aeon in effect.

The only plot point from the game I really dislike is the whole not being able to die thing. It's a huge can of worms.

fuck this thread makes my head hurt. I understand most of it easily but when reading it out all together like this it seems like a huge clusterfuck

I think Tidus is a fayth, or soul, of Shuyin. Like .

this

But there was no temple of the fayth dedicated to Tidus...

The anima and animus can be identified as the totality of the unconscious feminine psychological qualities that a man possesses or the masculine ones possessed by a woman, respectively. It is an archetype of the collective unconscious and not an aggregate of father or mother, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, or teachers, though these aspects of the personal unconscious can influence the person for good or ill.

Because a male's sensitivity is often lesser or repressed, the anima is one of the most significant autonomous complexes of all. It is said to manifest itself by appearing in dreams. It also influences a man's interactions with women and his attitudes toward them and vice versa for women and the animus. Jung said that "the encounter with the shadow is the 'apprentice-piece' in the individual's development...that with the anima is the 'masterpiece'". Jung viewed the anima process as being one of the sources of creative ability.

In the book The Invisible Partners it is said that the key to controlling one's anima/animus is to recognize it when it manifests and exercise our ability to discern the anima/animus from reality.

How so? You are able to die, you just stay as some sort of ghostly apparition unless someone sends your ass away.

I imagine the entity in particular requires some sort of powerful willpower to stay together in a physical form like Seymour does.

The giant fayth wall in real zanarkand where tidus passes out was that

Jecht still has some degree of control over Sin.
Sin was there before, from where do you think Jecht came from.
It's far away in the ocean full of fiends and Sin is actively protecting it.
Simply because some people are better than the other.
He's an orphan from somewhere else.
He's not too bright.
To test him/as a punishment for going into the no-go zone in the temple.
Apparently being mortally wounded, dying and 10 years without practice make you weaker.
Gameplay son, also wanted to see Yuna in action.
Magic.
Oversight.
It's suggested he is older than creation of Sin. I'm sure he can take care of himself like many other people traveling around.
Fanatical loyality, guado aren't numerous and are in decline.
Mika was 50 years in the office when the Luca Cup started, casters mention it.
Timesink

Except the gigantic Fayth on Gagazet that was summoning the entirety of Zanarkand and all its people?

Shuyin is just reused assets touched up and changed a little so they didn't have to bother making a new villan. X-2 is a mistake. with a fun battle system

Retard, Zanarkand was destroyed in a war against Bevelle 2000 years prior to the events in FFX. You must also understand the history of the two nations being that Bevelle was a nation of advanced machina warfare while Zanarkand specialized in summoners who drew their power from the far plane. Unsent souls from Zanarkand had the ability to convert their essense into Fayth in order to be summoned for warfare. Now that you understand this you must understand that when Zanarkand seemed all but lost the last remaining summoners pooled their spirits together to become unsent Fayth. Why? To preserve Zanarkand and they were successful in that from memory they created a near identical replica of it in the middle of the sea. BUT the lead summoner of Zanarkand Yu Yevon knew that if it were to go unprotected Bevelle could once against try to destroy them so what does the idiot do? He uses live sacrifice to create Sin in order to protect this "Dream Zanarkand" from possible attack. Tidus was not taken into the future he was extracted from this dream from the very mechanism put in place to guard it.

>well why the fuck did sin ever do that hurr

This part is complicated and i will post it in another post.

1/2

No one summoned him, I know Yuna didn't

Yu Yevon was not a summoner, it was a deity

I know for sure Sin destroyed Zanarkand

You're right desu. The battle system was very nice.

Why do you morons keep baiting each other

The entire Zanarkand in the beginning of the game is the "summon"

the fuck? yes he was. he was the leader of zanarkand and a summoner.

finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Yu_Yevon

user is right. Maechan even says that Yu Yevon is a summoner. And Zanarkand was destroyed in the creation of Sin and the dream realm.

Nobody being able to die would have an enormous impact on every aspect of society.
The only reason they can get away with it is because for some arbitrary reason they've decided dead people absolutely cannot be allowed to stay.

Yu Yevon WAS a summoner, and the leader of Zanarkand, and Yunalesca's father.
The fact that he was later deified (and reduced to something that could do nothing but summon and resummon Sin) does not negate the fact that he was once said things.

Technically he's both.

Dead people turn to fiends at the slightest negative emotions.

I wouldn't exactly say Seymour was filled with positive emotions.

Why does Yunalesca turn from a 10/10 hottie into a tentacle hentai Medusa head?

>Why does Wakka have a different accent from everyone else in Besaid? It's a tiny village

Actually if you talk to some of the NPCs in Besaid they do the whole Wakka "ya/yah" thing in their (text) dialogue, just like him

>tfw we will never see it used again
Modern SE is suffering

Shuyin is the original Tidus from Zanerkand. Tidus is a dream/aeon based loosely off of Shuyin from Dream Zanerkand, a copy of the original zanerkand that knew nothing of the war, fiends, summoning, or anything from the outside world during its era. In other words, dream Zanerkand was created to be a perfect utopia, free from the war, and the reason theres no summoners or knowledge of summoners in dream Zanerkand despite original Zanerkand being a city of summoners is that an aeon cant summon aeons. Tidus is also so infatuated with Yuna because he is based off Shuyin who loved Lenne who resembles Yuna.

Because Japanese game

She's a fayth. It's her aeon form.

If you think it through, you'll realize Tidus was summoned specifically by the Bahamut Fayth, who idolized Shuyin.

>Why did no one ever find Dream Zanarkand before Auron? Spira consists mainly of ocean-faring people, so boats and sea exploration are important to them
Because Yu Yevon outlawed machina because only machina boats like the Al Bhed's were capable of traveling out to sea far enough (how far is unknown) to reach it. The taboo was entirely in place to prevent Dream Zanarkand from being found under the guise of being anti-war.

No, she's just Unsent. Her husband was her Fayth.

1) Zanarkland War with Yevon
2) Zanarkland gets pwnzord.
3) Yu Yevon creates Dream Zanarkland out in the ocean somewhere, that nobody can find.
4) Tidus and Jecht likely created also, at this point.
5) Real Zanarkland becomes ruins of Zanarkland.
6) 1k yrs l8r...
7) Dream Zanarkland Jecht somehow touched Sin( The Brasaka Era Sin)
8) Jecht is now in the real world. Tags with Brasaka and Auron to kill Brasaka Era Sin.
9) They win, Jecht turns into Jecht Sin.
10) Auron gets pwn'd by Yunalesca.
11) Dead Auron calls/ rides Sin to Dream Zanarkland to get Dream Tidus.
12) GAME SUTARTO!

Auron knew Sin was how Jecht got to Spira. He took a chance.
Dream Zanarkand isn't a real place, it's literally a dream. Sin can go there because it's the Final Aeon, so it's partly a dream itself.
See above
The Aurochs sucked because they didn't care very deeply about winning, their motto was "let's try our hardest" or something like that. Al Bhed go diving for ancient machina all the time so Brother has experience being underwater.
Others from Besaid have accents, Wakka's is just stronger.
Wakka is deeply religious, he sees what he wants to see.
Kimahri wants to test Tidus' worth the Ronso way.
Auron mentions there were way fewer and weaker fiends during Braska's pilgrimage.
He got stronger? Maybe Anima happened to be knocked out?
It's just the RPG trope of weapons suddenly appearing when they're needed.
Continuity error.
Who knows? Also how would you know he has no combat abilities?
Guado are loyal.
How do you know how old the Maesters are?

2/2

Sin was Jecht. The story doesn't really explain much about how Jecht managed to be dragged away from Zanarkand of the sea but they did go as far as telling us he'd gone out to the edge of the city to practice Blitzball. In the world of Spira Yu Yevons summoned monster, Sin, would devastate most of the few remaining cities so the tradition of practicing summoning to fight off Sin became a thing. When Jecht found himself lost in this new world he somehow met Braska and Auron becoming Braska's new guardian. Yada Yada Yada...Braska, Jecht, Auron reach the ruins of Zanarkand only to discover that Yunalesca required the body of one of the guardians to create the final summon to defeat sin. Now here's where it gets fucked, Once Yu Yevon's monster is defeated Yu Yevon uses the human summon to make himself a brand new fucking Sin, the process taking 10 years. Can you guess who sacrificed himslelf to save Spira and became Braska's summon? Jecht, Tidus' father. I can't really remember this correctly but something happens during the Braska pilgrimage and Auron discovers that Ynalesca is actually not a Fayth but an unsent spirit working for the best interests of Yu Yevon. Sin would completely be killed off for good if you just send off Yu Yevon to the afterlife making the entire sacrificial process unnecessary but these fuckers have a racket. Knowing this Auron goes to confront Yunalesca at the ruins of Zanarkand and gets killed.

Now Auron is an unsent spirit able to communicate with Jecht (sin) and they hatch a scheme to have Tidus end it once and for all.
